CONROY, Kenneth Henry passed away peacefully on Friday, July 4th, 2008 after a brave fight with Leukemia.
Ken is survived by his wife, Rita; daughter, Donna (Gary); son, Al; his mother, Ruth; siblings, Ron (Greg); sister, Kathy (Stan); sister, Colleen as well as nieces, nephews and grandchildren.
Ken enjoyed time with his family, and was involved in many activities in his lifetime, including snowmobiling, piloting light aircraft, traveling, and working on their property.
Ken also loved to teach a willing student, and many benefited from his patient instruction in driving and water skiing.
Ken was a steel fabricator who worked for Tree Island Industries, was especially proud of his 30 years of service and had retired last year.
Ken had also built many enduring friendships during his tenure with the company.
A Celebration of Ken's life, with his family and friends, took place Monday, July 14th, 2008 at 11am, in the Maple Ridge Legion, Branch #88, 12101 224th St, Maple Ridge, B.C. 604-463-5101.
Reception followed immediately after the service.
In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Ken' to the Canadian Cancer Society (www.cancer.ca)' or a charity close to your heart, would be greatly appreciated.
Dressler, (nee Graham, Cynthia Evelyn (Cindy)
March 13, 1955 - June 18, 2008
On Wednesday, June 18, 2008, Cynthia Evelyn (Cindy) Dressler, (nee Graham), late of Winnipeg, Manitoba, peacefully rose to the loving arms of her Father at the age of 53 years.
Predeceased by her father, Tom Graham in 2002 and her brother, Trevor in 1983, Cindy is survived by her mother, Pearl Graham of Fort St. James, BC; husband, Max of Winnipeg, MB; sons, Rob of Kamploops, B.C. and Eric of Calgary, AB; brothers, Tom (Wilma) Graham of Prince George, B.C. and Tyler (Katie) Graham of Fort St. James, BC; sisters, Gloria (Richard) Ouellette of Fort St. James, B.C., Charlene (Jay) Bobrowich of Salmon Arm, B.C., Kelly (Wayne) Akister of Cheadle, AB, Corinne (Bob) Sinclair of Prince George, BC; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Cindy was born in Vanderhoof, B.C., on March 13, 1955.
An outgoing and devoted student, she excelled at athletics and garnered a reputation as an accomplished athlete.
She and her husband, Max were married on September 14, 1974, and until the 1990's, resided throughout western Canada, as part of the RCMP family.
Their sons, Rob and Eric, were born in Whitehorse Yukon Territory, in 1977 and 1979 respectively.
Cindy and Max have resided in Winnipeg, since January 2007.
Cindy's loves in life were her God, family and friends.
Her spirit, selflessness, kindness, wonderful sense of humour and love for others were without equal.
These wonderful gifts served her well as she fought and ultimately reigned over the devastating affliction of Schizo-affective Disorder.
Cindy was the most beautiful human being and the world has shone much brighter for it.
A Celebration of Cindy's life was held on Tuesday, June 24, 2008 at 2 p.m. in Westhill Park Baptist Church, 8025 Sherwood Drive, Regina with Rev. Henry Friesen officiating.
Flowers gratefully declined.

PERRON, MIKE
December 13, 2008
Mike Perron passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 13th, 2008 at the age of 63.
Mike was a quiet and creative man who loved to play his guitar.
He also enjoyed spending his time with his faithful companion "Brewsky" in the great outdoors.
Mike will be sadly missed by his daughter, Jaymi, his siblings, Simonne, John, Noela, Joan, Sue and Marie, and by countless other friends and relatives.
There will be a celebration of Mike's life at the Unitarian Church located on the corner of Bertram and Cawston in Kelowna on January 30th, at 6:00pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations to a memorial bench in Mike's name, can be sent to 4921 Harrison Court, Kelowna, B.C., ViW 4Z2 to the care of Jaymi Diduck.
The bench will be established in the spring, and located in the new section of Rotary Beach overlooking the lake.
FLAMANK, ALVINA
March 5, 1929 - January 27, 2009
Alvina Flamank was born March 5, 1929, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2009.
Survived by 4 children: Debbie (Steven) White of Kelowna, Geoff (Karen) Flamank of Tsawwassen, David (Judy) Flamank of Langley, and Brian (Connie) Flamank of Kamloops; and 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Alvina was the youngest of nine children; married in 1949, to Jack Flamank (BC Police/RCMP) for 53 years, until Jack passed away in August 2003.
Alvina worked for the Bank of Montreal for 25 years, and enjoyed her Beta Sigma Phi sorority, and Bingo.
She had struggled with severe arthritis for the past 40 years.
Special thanks to Doctors Hignell and Mestosky and the staff at Kelowna General Hospital.
Services will be held at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, on Saturday, January 31st, 2009 at 2:00 P.M.

CLARKE, John James
February 11, 1926 - January 27, 2009
Passed away peacefully on January 27, 2009, just short of his 83rd birthday.
Survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Rita; their children, Therese, Tim (Caron), Shelagh, Susan (Garnet) Hubbard and Marty (Kim); grandchildren, Joel, Amanda, Jeffrey, Quin, Sarah, Brynna, Jacob, Kyle, and Alana; his niece, and grand-niece, Tara and Kathleen, and god-child and nephew, Gerry Preston.
John was born in Orillia, ON, on February 11, 1926, one of nine siblings.
He is also survived by two sisters, Helen Preston and Joan Clarke, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews.
After John graduated from Ontario Agricultural College at University of Guelph in 1951, he worked for Agriculture Canada for 35 years.
He married Rita in 1959, and they eventually transferred to Winnipeg, where they raised their five children.
Dad was a committed volunteer - at his church, on boards of directors for Catholic schools, and for the Knights of Columbus.
He is remembered by his children for playing sports with them, camping at the lake, veggies from his garden, and always encouraging them to "climb trees and chase squirrels".
Dad and Mom retired to Kelowna, B.C., in 1994, where he continued his involvement with the Knights of Columbus at St. Theresa's, and was recognized as Knight of the Year.
Dad enjoyed playing golf and bridge, spending time with grandchildren, skiing, watching football on TV, bike riding, travelling and Tim Horton's coffee.
Dad was soft spoken and low-key, with a mischievous sense of humour.

Dad will be missed by his family and all with whom he came in contact.

BODOR, TEODOR
Died January 27, 2009
Passed away peacefully after a courageous battle against cancer in the early hours of January 27, 2009 at the age of 64.
He is survived by his loving wife, Catherine, and will be missed by her family Ron Brown and his wife, Tracy Morley; Carol Brown and family, Dan, Monica and Samuel Weatherly; and Joyce Brown and family, Kelly, Miranda and Makayla Curtis.
He is also survived by his brother, Miron, and his loving daughter, Feride Marie and son, Cassian Bodor, and grandchildren, Anka, Alexander and Nathaniel.
He is predeceased by his mother, Leontina and his first wife, Marianna.
Ted enjoyed gardening, travelling and spending time with his wife Catherine.
His family would like to thank all staff who provided Ted and his family with compassionate care during his stay at Hospice House.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 31st, 2009 at 3:30PM at Hansons Arbor Westwood Funeral Chapel located at 2541 Churchill Road, Westbank, B.C., officiated by Minister Lillian McLeod.

DAY, TERRY Wilson
1938 - January 24, 2009
Passed away peacefully after a long battle with COPD on January 24, 2009 at the age of 70.
He spent his last days in the comfort of his home with the support of his family.
Terry was born in Cardston, Alberta in 1938 and was the oldest child of Frank and Wanda (Wilson) Day.
His parents and sister, Dawn Day predeceased him.
He is survived by his wife, Joan; son, Blaine; daughters, Dana Langlois (Mike), Laurie Schwaiger (John); grandchildren, sister; Myrna Day, and his devoted cat, Mocha.
He enjoyed family camping excursions, fishing, curling, watching sports and the camaraderie of many friends.
He loved to tell jokes, play cards and listen to music
Terry had a lifelong interest and encyclopedic memory of vintage cars.
He was a member and Past President of the United Commercial Travelers since 1975, as well as a member of the Royal Canadian Legion #288.
The family thanks the Interior Health Community Support Services and the Palliative Response Team as they made Terry's final days comfortable.
By request, there will be no service.
The family will hold a private gathering at a later date.
