Thomas Massey left for his heavenly home on Friday, July 29, 2011.
Thomas will be dearly missed by his loving wife Persis of 57+ years, two sons Dr. Donald (Dr. Valerie) of Edmonton and Daniel (Roberta) of West Kelowna, along with his grandchildren Ashleigh, Jarrett, Danica and Isaac and his dear brother Benjamin Prashad (Salomi) of Calgary.
He will also be missed by many relations and friends in many parts of the world.
The family would like to extend many thanks to the medical staff of 6 South and 7 North, and the hemodialysis staff of R.I.H. Also our heartfelt gratitude goes to Dr. Simon Triessman, Dr. Marie Michaud and Dr. Joslin Conley for their compassionate support to Thomas during his painful sickness.

The Funeral Service to celebrate the life of Thomas Massey will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 6, 2011 in the First Baptist Church, 454 Columbia St., Kamloops, B.C. Viewing will take place prior to the service, in the church, from 9:00 to 10:45 am. Following the service, Thomas will be laid to rest in Hillside Cemetery.

James Malo
January 1, 1926 - July 30, 2011
James Malo of Kamloops passed away on Saturday, July 30, 2011 at 84 years of age.
He was predeceased by his loving wife Grace Malo and son Donald Malo.
James will be lovingly remembered by his sons Dennis (Raynieres) Malo of Maple Ridge, BC and Jim (Bridget) Malo of Duncan BC, daughters Janice (Alvin) Lukinchuk of Kamloops, Sharon (Adrian) Malo of Hope, BC and Jackie (Ken) Malo of Surrey, BC; grandchildren Jo-Anne, Scott, Heather, Grant, Tarla, Jason, Lance, Shane, Chad, Michael, James, Erin, Kevin and Tasha, seventeen great grandchildren, and his sisters Madeleine Leveque of Everett, Washington and Sister Lorraine Malo of Haiti.
Jim was a loving husband and father. He was married to his wife Grace on October 4, 1946. Shortly after they were married they moved to Vancouver, BC, where Jim and Grace owned several businesses over the years. Jim was a very hard worker and a good provider for his family. In Jim's early years he enjoyed curling, hockey, golf and billiards. He enjoyed watching all sports on TV.
At the time of Jim's passing he lived at Le Jeune Manor, where he enjoyed many happy times with the gang, playing Wii Bowling, attending potluck dinners, Bingo or just sharing a cup of coffee with a friend.
Jim was a faithful member of St. John Vianney parish for many years. His strong faith has been a source of consolation and hope over the years.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff of the Royal Inland Hospital ICU & 6 South, and to Kamloops Hospice for their care of James.
The Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:00 am on Wednesday, August 3, 2011 in St. John Vianney Parish, 2826 Bank Rd., with Reverend Wladyslaw Karciarz, Celebrant.
Public Visitation will take place from 10:00 to 10:45 am at St. John Vianney Parish prior to the service.

HELEN SIMON (HUDSON)
February 22, 1924 – August 1, 2011
Our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother passed away peacefully in her sleep. She is survived by two children - Paulette Davies and Gerard Simon (Dianne), five grandchildren – Suzanne Filion (Vince), Scott (Jennifer) and Tim (Christy) Davies, Tyler and Kyle Simon, and three great grandchildren – Jessica Filion, Drew and Cullen Davies. She was predeceased by her husband George in 1980 and her daughter Gaye in 2008. Helen was born in Rocky Mountain House, AB. She contracted polio at the age of 4, and wore a brace from that time onward. She bravely coped with her disability, and remained a loving, outgoing and friendly person for the rest of her life. She met and married George in 1948. Over the next 32 years, they lived in Edmonton, Pointe Claire, QC, and Calgary, and then back to Edmonton. They travelled extensively throughout Canada and the US on vacations, which was an activity that they both loved. In 1997, she moved with her daughter, Gaye, to Kamloops, where she enjoyed camping and travelling with her family. She will be missed by all. Special thanks to the staff of Kamloops Seniors Village for their care and friendship during her residence.

PHILCOX, Bryan Glenn
August 14, 1963 - August 6, 2011
It is with great sadness that we announce Bryan's passing on August 6th, in Langley, BC.
Bryan was born in Kamloops, BC and grew up in Westsyde. He was one of five sons of Allan and Verna Philcox.
Bryan loved playing sports, particularly hockey and was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing, especially with his grandfather. Bryan worked in the construction industry, honing his skills as a spray insulator.
Bryan met the love of is life, Tanya, who together spent their early years in Calgary before moving to the lower mainland, marrying, and raising three beautiful boys. They could often be found at numerous arenas and sports fields proudly supporting their sons. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude for the care, compassion and friendships he received and cherished from the staff and his housemates at Connect Care in Langley during the last five years.
Bryan is survived by his wife Tanya, his sons Jeremy, Brandon, and Alex, mother Verna, and brothers Roland (Leisa), Jerry (Katrina), Jude (Tanya), and Kelly. He also had numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family. Bryan was a loving husband, father, son, brother and a great friend to many. His companionship will never be forgotten, only remembered and cherished.
A memorial service will be held in Kamloops, BC at the Kamloops Funeral Home, 285 Fortune Drive., on Saturday, August 13th at 2:00p.m.

Born in Morden Manitoba to John and Clara Teichrib.
Predeceased by his father John in 2009, mother Clara in 1996, father-in-law Louie Holland in 1989 and mother-in-law Florenee Zacharias in 2011.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Jan, children BJ (Robin) Teichrib, Tina (Jeff) Buster of Kamloops, grandchildren Curtis Teichrib, Dalton, Brooke and Jessica Buster of Kamloops, sister Doreen Smith of Kamloops, brother-in-law Bill (Lynda) Holland, nieces Lisa (Steve) Moore and Jody Holland, nephews Wes (Randy) McMyn Holland, Colt McMyn Holland, great nephews Shane and Luke Moore, Forest McMyn Holland and great niece Elody McMyn Holland all of Maple Ridge, brother-in-law Gordon (Pam) Holland and family of Watson Lake, sister-in-law Delphene Craven Vancouver and his faithful companion Kolee Dog.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Kamloops Funeral Home on Saturday August 20, 2011 at 4:00 pm with Celebrant Mary Widmer officiating.

Edward L. Lepine of Kamloops passed away on October 23, 2011at 90 years of age. Edward is survived by his loving children; Leonard (Lia) Lepine of Kailuha, Hawaii, Denise Johnson of Burnaby, Jeanette (Pat) Lepine of Vancouver, Ronald (Kelly) Lepine of Port Alberni, and Darlene (Michael) Kuzek of Stony Plain. Grandchildren; Kris, Ryan, Shawn, Vincent, Amanda and Graham. Brothers and Sisters; Solange, Florence, and Gerry.
Dear friend and companion Ethel Lockwood.
Predeceased by wife Theresa Bold.
Edward lived in Kamloops from the early 50’s were he was a carpenter, plumber, handyman, and hobby farmer. Ed enjoyed many outdoor activities, camping, fishing, skiing, traveling, meeting and helping people. He was a volunteer for many groups, helping out at O.L.P.H Catholic Church, boy scouts, riding clubs and was always willing to help a friend or a person in need. Ed never really retired as he continued to do odd jobs for people all the time. Ed’s generosity touched many lives and will be missed.
A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Of Perpetual Help Catholic Church on Monday, October 31, 2011 at 11:00 am with Father Peter Hoan Nguyen Celebrant.

Barbara Ann Elizabeth Kot (nee Holland)
December 13, 1956- October 23, 2011
Barb Kot of Kamloops, BC passed away suddenly at 54 years of age.
Left to cherish her memory her husband Garry "Bird", her two daughters Michelle (Steve) and Cherie, her grand daughter Mackenzie, her father Norman, her sister Wendy (Doug), niece Jennifer (Troy) and her two beloved cats Pepper and Kujo/ “Kitty"
She was predeceased by her mother Nora, mother-in-law Lucy and niece Danielle.
Barb was born in Edmonton and she moved to Kamloops in 1970 where she attended Brock and Norkam. Barb moved back to Alberta where she got married to Mike and raised her family.
In 1994 she moved back to Kamloops with her girls. In 2000 she married Bird and they continued to live their lives here in Kamloops.
Barb will be fondly remembered for her love of the outdoors, gardening and her passion for elephants.
A Memorial Service will take place Saturday, October 29, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at the Cottonwood Manor, 730 Cottonwood Ave., Kamloops, BC
