ANNIE (NANCY) R.B. JONES
May 31, 1924 - September 30, 2010
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Annie (Nancy), wife of Tom, mother of Gloria (Jim); grandmother of Angela (Todd); David (Tara); Linda (Brian) and great grandmother to Brandon, Shyanne, Marissa, Caleb, Kalan and Ethan.
Nancy was born in Greenock, Scotland in 1924. She served as a communications Officer in the Women's Royal Navy,(WRNS) during World War II. In 1943 she met the love of her life Tom, a serving Royal Navy Petty Officer, whom she married in 1946. They lived many years in South Wales, until they moved to Canada in 1979, where they joined their daughter Gloria and family. They lived in Surrey, White Rock and Kamloops, where they enjoyed Lawn Bowling, until Nancy's health forced her to stop.
Nancy loved her Lord and was passionate about her family. She had a wonderful way of putting people at ease and was always ready to feed a stranger who happened to be brought to the family table. She will be truly missed by all those who knew her.
The Funeral Service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, October 6th, 2010 at the First Baptist Church, 454 Columbia St, Kamloops.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Dr Simpson, Susan, RIH (6 South), Berwick on the Park; Kamloops Seniors Village; and Kamloops Hospice.

Dodie Roesen
March 1, 1934 - October 4, 2010
Mrs. Dodie Roesen of Kamloops, passed away on October 4, 2010 at the age of 75 years.
Dodie is survived by her loving husband Tom, daughters Autumn Mooney and
Heather Ross, son Ronald (Jackie), her sister Linda (Doug), five grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
Dodie was an avid outdoorsperson, who enjoyed hunting and fishing. She also liked bingo and a good game of cards.
Precious are the memories she leaves behind.

Mabel Kristine Edvarda Kent - nee Reitan
May 25, 1932 - 0ctober 4, 2010
Mabel ”Teddie” Kent passed suddenly on Monday, October 4, 2010. She is survived by her sister Nancy Maude; her children Terry Hobbs, Lynette Fullerton and son-in-law Wayne, Grant Hobbs, and Robert Kent; grandchildren Brian and Mike Hobbs, Erik and Erin Fullerton, and Madison.
Predeceased by her mother Lilian, father John Reitan, brothers Johnny and Jimmy, and husband Sidney Kent.
Mabel was raised in Saanich, and was a long time but not recent resident of Pender Island.
"Teddie" was a woman of many talents. She excelled in entertaining and was admired for her hospitality. Well known as the beautiful face on the other side of the counter at the Port Washington General Store. A design diva who assisted many friends. She loved to, and did, travel the world. Always ready for a good time, she will be sadly missed by many.

EDWARD "TED" DAVID PEARSON
January 1, 1952 - September 26, 2010
Ted passed away suddenly on Sunday, September 26, 2010 at the age of 58 years.
He is survived by his loving brothers, Harold and Terry (Gloria) Pearson, and 3 nephews, Chad, Tyler, and Dustin.
Ted was predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Fern Pearson.
Ted led a quiet and simple life and enjoyed a wide variety of friends. He was well liked and will be sadly missed by all who knew him. He was a hard-working faithful employee for many years to the Fuoco family, and also worked at the Downtown Parking Corporation.
His constant companion for the past number of years was his little dog, Patches.
There will be no formal Service or tea by request, however, should friends desire, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the SPCA, 1211-8th St., Kamloops BC V2B 2Y3.

Barbara Hajesz
December 31, 1969 - January 1, 2008
Barbara Hajesz of Barriere passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on January 1, 2008 at 70 years of age.
She will be missed by her loving husband Laszlo Hajesz, children, Annette Bitte of New Westminster, Robert & Leah Bitte of Summerland, David & Julie Hajesz of Ottawa, Cheryl Perry of Kamloops, and Christine Monteith of Kamloops; many grandchildren, and her sisters Ica and Agi of Hungary.
The family would like to offer their thanks to all of those who provided Barbara with care in her last few months.
A Memorial Service will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday, January 5, 2008 in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel, 285 Fortune Drive.

DAVID “GORDIE” GORDON HENDERSON
August 10, 1915 - October 6, 2010
Gordon’s journey of life ended on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 following a short stay in Hospice House.
Gordon is survived by his daughter Sharon of Vernon, sons Don (Patricia) and Bryan (Sandra) both of Kamloops, grandchildren Tammi (Jason), Darrel (Alena), Darcey, Casey, Julie (Aaron) and Stephanie (Chris), along with eight great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Doris and his five brothers.
Gordon began his journey of life in Franklin, Manitoba. He served overseas in WW II with the RCAF and moved to Vernon BC following the war to start a new life with a small car and his brother. Gordon met his wife Doris Warner and settled down to raise a family in Vernon. His first job was operating caterpillar tractors and working on the highways in northern and southern BC. Being extremely good at maintaining the tractors, he went to work for Finning Tractor in Vernon and Kamloops, and stayed with them until retirement. As a retiree he became involved with Seniors Curling, the North Kamloops Elks Lodge #469 and also with numerous activities at the Mount Paul United Church.
The Funeral Service will take place at 1:00 pm on Saturday, October 16, 2010 in the Mount Paul United Church, 140 Laburnum Street. Following the reception, Gordon will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery.

J. Patrick “Pops” O’Toole
March 17, 1921 - October 9, 2010
John Patrick O’Toole of Kamloops passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2010 surrounded by his loving family.
His memory will always be cherished by his children Sean (Delena) O’Toole of Kamloops, Colleen (Garth) Gilbert of Kamloops, Lianne (Ted) Williams of Balfour BC, and Laurie (Arlene) O’Toole of Merritt; grandchildren Kelly (Lilly), Pat, Darci, Erin (Jeremiah), Devon, Eddy and Dustin, great grandchildren Liam, Beckett, Maddy, Owen and Charlotte, his brother Jim O’Toole and many in-laws.
He was predeceased by his wife Bernice O’Toole, daughter Sheila, parents Peter and Rose O’Toole, brother Floyd O’Toole and sister Joanne Cockwill.
J.P. was born in Gull Lake, Saskatchewan and raised in Shaunavon, SK and Dollard, SK. He moved to Vancouver and served in WW II as an Air Force mechanic. Patrick met and married Bernice in Vancouver. Together they raised five children while roaming the province when he was serving as District Highways Manager. He will be well remembered for his humour and kind donation of time volunteering for the Boy Scouts and with his church, where he served as a Deacon of O.L.P.H.
The family would like to offer a special thank you to the R.I.H. nurses and everyone at Kamloops Hospice.
Prayers will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 635 Tranquille Road. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 15, 2010, Reverend Father Peter Hoan Nguyen and Reverend Father Bob Haggerty OMI, Con-Celebrants. Following the service, Patrick will be laid to rest at Hillside Cemetery with Bernice. Reception to follow at OLPH Parish Hall at 1:00 pm.

Neil Chapman passed away at R.I.H. on Sunday, October 10, after a short illness.
He is survived by his sister Jane (Bill) Wride and two nephews Eddie and Russell all of 70 Mile; step-children Larry (Donna Parson) Merchant of Chase, Dana (Ernie) Munro of Lytton, Mary Carleton of Kamloops, Richard Merchant of Laidlaw BC, Aunt Kay and cousins of Salmon Arm, and numerous grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife Mary, his parents, sister May and niece Sherry.

Raymond Joseph Demers
December 2, 1927 - October 11, 2010
It is with sadness that we announce the death of Raymond Joseph Demers on Monday, October 11, 2010.
He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 58 years, Mary; his children Lucille (Gary) Brigden, Ray (Annie) Demers, Colette Demers (Tyler Murphy), Hubert (Marcella) Demers, and Leonard (Tracey) Demers: his grandchildren Leanna (Philip), Allen (Kyla), Charlene, Stacey, Joel, Nicole, Damien, Katelyn, Gabrielle, Dominique, Aidan, and Nathan; his great grandchildren Derek and Connor, a brother Paul (Connie) Demers and family, and a brother-in-law, Peter Tolhurst., and two very special cousins, Marcel (Cecile) Lirette, and Emile (Denise) Lefebvre who were very helpful and supportive in many ways.
Ray was born in Bonneville, AB, the oldest son of Napoleon and Antoinette Demers, and one of the oldest of many, many cousins. He met and married Mary in Alberta before moving to BC in 1954. His work took him to many remote areas of the BC Interior.
Ray’s working career ranged from selling vehicles and big machinery to owning and operating logging and road building equipment. He had one of the first ‘cats’ on both the Mica Creek Dam site and Afton Copper Mine. After his health failed, he spent many years involved with organizing, coaching, and managing sports in North Kamloops, minor hockey house and rep teams, hockey schools, and the Bantam Tournament. He also coached the OLPH Aces for many years and was instrumental in seeing Little League baseball and softball become each their own entity. It was also his dream and diligence that saw the Brock Arena/Pool Complex become a reality.
Ray was predeceased by his son Marc (1978), his parents Napoleon and Antoinette Demers, and his sister, Pauline Tolhurst.
Prayers will be recited at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 14, 2010 in the Kamloops Funeral Home Chapel at 285 Fortune Drive. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 15, 2010, at 1:00 p.m. in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church at 635 Tranquille Road. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery.
With much appreciation, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the BC Lung Association.
