Marguerite Isobel Frymire, RN, BSN (Nee McKay)
August 26, 1926 - August 23, 2008

Surrounded by her family, Marguerite passed gently and peacefully from this world into the next.

Left to mourn her passing are her loving husband of 54 years, Walter, her daughter Tanis Haviland (Bill), Sons Tim (Debbie), Randy, Drew (Maureen), Scott (Lulu), Eliot (Catherine), Bill (Alana), sister Noreen, and brother Edgar. Marguerite will be greatly missed by her 16 grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Marguerite was predeceased by her parents, Walter and Isobel McKay, her infant son John, and brothers Gary and Bill.

Born in Prince Albert Sask., the eldest daughter of 5 children, Marguerite’s keen intellect and quiet determination allowed her to obtain her Bachelor of Science in Nursing (U of A, Edmonton, 1950). She began teaching nursing in Kamloops and soon after met a gregarious junior weatherman. Walter and Marguerite married in 1954 and moved to Prince George where their family quickly grew to 7 children. They relocated to Kamloops in 1967. She finished her nursing career as a supervisor in Vancouver before retiring back to their home in Brocklehurst.

Marguerite’s gentle quiet affection had a way of making each of her children feel like they were special in her heart. She was very proud of her many grandchildren, and a favourite auntie to extended family. We all loved receiving her thoughtful letters and perfectly chosen gifts. Though often found cooking or preparing to receive visiting family and friends, Marguerite also enjoyed card and dice games, bowling, bingo, and found time to travel with Walter in retirement. Her dying, much like her living was marked by quiet courage, generosity of spirit and selfless concern for those she loved.

The family would especially like to thank Dr. Bantock for his 15 years of personalized care, the excellent staff of Hospice, and the many family and friends who have supported us in these last difficult months.

Prayers will be recited at 700 p.m. on Wednesday, August 27, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 635 Tranquille Road.

Mass of Christian Burial, will take place at 10:00 am on Thursday, August 28, 2008 in the church, Reverend Father Peter Nguyen, Celebrant.

Donations in Marguerite’s memory may made to TRU foundation, Box 3010, 900 McGill Rd., Kamloops, BC, V2C 5N3, 250-828-5264, in lieu of flowers.

It is with heartfelt sadness that we mourn the passing of our much loved Husband, Dad, Grandpa and friend.

Paul will be greatly missed by his loving wife of nearly 50 years Elly, brother Ed (Kitty), sons Rick (Carol Ellingsen), Randy (Manon), grandchildren Richard, Kane, Paige, Carter, and numerous nieces and nephews.
