Eileen Rose Williams late of Abbotsford, B.C. passed away at MSA Hospital on Wednesday, December 11, 2002 at age 88 years. She was predeceased by her husband Rex in 1964.
She is survived by her daughter Carol (Don) Silzer of Abbotsford; granddaughters; Dawn Marie (Frank) Silzer/Morris of Abbotsford, Jodi (Ivan) Kehler of Abbotsford and Kelly (Mike) Silzer/Hooker of Revelstoke; six great-grandchildren; Lara, Emma, Quinton, Shalyn, Everett and Aiden; her sister Grace Cooke of Vancouver as well as nieces and nephews.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2002 at 11:00 a. m. from St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church at 33333 Mayfair Avenue. Interment will follow at Hazelwood Cemetery.

Ronald (Ron) A. Milward late of Abbotsford, passed away on December 11, 2002 at age 72 years. He was predeceased by his mother Flo, father Alfred, brothers Richard and Charlie and sister Rosie.
He is survived by brother Norman; sister Joyce (Norm) Paterson of Langley; nephews Bruce (Barb) and their son Lance and Clay (Lorna) Clemas; niece Christine and many other relatives.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2002 from 7:00 - 9:00 p. m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 2310 Clearbrook Road. A Funeral will be held on Thursday, December 19 at 1:30 p. m. from the chapel of Woodlawn Funeral Home.
LINDMARK, CORA - Monday, 06 Jan 2003
Cora May Lindmark passed away peacefully on Monday, January 6, 2003 at ECU, Mission Memorial Hospital at the age of 93 years.
Cora was predeceased by her mother, father, brother Bruce, sister Florence, husband Axel and cousins Grace Lockhart, Jim Sproule and Bob Drew.
She is survived by and will be remembered as a mother to Emily Drew; as a favourite auntie to Maurice (Janet), Brian (Dawn), Ralph (Carol), Bruce (Joan), Deith (Lori), Maureen and their families; a very special aunt to Maxine Natrasony and family; and cousin to many. She will be remembered with love by the "Rolls" and "Greig" families and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2003 at 11:00 a. m. at St. Andrew's United Church, 7756 Grand Street, (at 10th Street), with Reverend Judy Stark officiating. A graveside service was held on Saturday, Janurary 11, 2003. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the B. C. Diabetes Association or a charity of choice.

Anna, long time resident of Abbotsford, B.C., peacefully went to be with her Lord on January 5, 2003 at the age of 100 years. Anna was loved and appreciated by her extended family, including many nieces & nephews. She will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by all that knew her.

Grant Gerald Hintz passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2003 at Mission, B.C. at age 75 years. Grant was predeceased by his son Sheldon in 1989 and his parents Henry and Catherine Hintz. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years, Dolores; his daughters Brenda (Carl), Pamela and Janet (Liberal); grandsons Trevor, Carlos, Nicolas and twins, Jordan and Brayden; sisters Virginia (Peter) Sander and Ethel (Glen) Peterson of Saskatoon; one special daughter Barb Pinkus and her family of Calgary. Grant was part owner of the Brookswood Rental and Mohawk for many years.
A service will take place on Friday, January 10, 2003 at 1:00 p. m. at Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home, 7386 Horne St., Mission.

FINCH, NANCY - Saturday, 04 Jan 2003
On January 4, 2003, Mrs. Nancy Finch, 87, passed away after a short battle with cancer.
Nancy was born in Eastbourne, England and educated in Claremont, South Africa, Torquay, England and Bedford College, London where she earned a B. A. in 1937. She returned to Africa in 1939 working in Kenya's colonial government. She married Guy in 1940 and the family along with her parents, Isa and Morseby White immigrated to Canada in 1948 to farm in the Fraser Valley. She provided meals to Dewdney Elementary School before joining the Umemployment Commission where she worked in Mission, Surrey, Victoria and Nanaimo until retiring in 1977. She and Guy moved to Qualicum Beach in 1992.
She is predeceased by her husband in 1995 and daughter, Caroline (Bill Kason) in 1992.
She is survived by sons Michael (Doreen), Chris (Suzanne) and Peter (Janet); grandchildren, Sharon (Scott), Sandra (Dennis), David (Denyse), Barbara (Craig), Nicholas (Stefanie), Graham, Sheila, John and Benjamin (Shannon), great-grandchildren Mackenzie, Divinity, Parker, Elija, Nadine and Breanna. She also leaves sister Barbara in England and Ann in Scotland and their families.
Nancy remained active throughout her long life supporting many causes including Arranglen, Eagle Park and Trillium Lodges, the Brown Property Preservation Society, Happy Wanderers, S. O. S., the Mission Foundation and the varied interests of her extended family. She and Guy travelled in North America, the UK, Europe and Africa.
A celebration of life will be held at St. Mark's Anglican Church, Qualicum on January 18, 2003 at 2 p. m. Interment of cremated remains will take place in the memorial garden prior to a tea in the church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Nancy's memory to the Nanaimo Hospice Palliative Care Programme c/o Nanaimo Regional General Hospital or District 69 Hospice Society, 210 Crescent Road W., Qualicum Beach, B.C. V9K 1J9.

GUNTHER, MERLIN - Saturday, 04 Jan 2003
Merlin Gunther of Chilliwack, B.C., passed away suddenly on January 4, 2003 at Surrey Memorial Hospital at the age of 48 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born to John and Mary Gunther of Penticton, B.C. on December 28, 1954.
Merlin is survived by his life long mate and wife Sandy and his loving daughter Chelsey; his cousin Don Lundquist and many cherished friends and family. He was predeceased by his father John in 1975; mother Mary in 1979 and Aunt Esther (Retzer) in 1999.
Merlin had a real love for Volkswagen and over his 31 year career, that began in the fall of 1972 at Beck Motor Co. in Chilliwack, he went from working in the parts department in Valley Autohouse and was instrumental in the restructuring of Beck Motor Co. to a second Valley Autohouse dealership.
Another one of his passions was his trips to Mexico; building sandcastles on the beach with his daughter and enjoying the sun setting on the horizon with his wife.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2003 at 3:00 p. m. in the chapel of Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Avenue, Chilliwack, B.C., tea to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Research Society.

Predeceased by her brother Ulrich, she will be missed by her brothers Guenter (Traute) and Walter (Verne), her children Ute, Ilka, and Ralf (Karin), her 6 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren and family and friends.
A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date. "Weep not that I have died, but rejoice that I have lived".
CALDWELL, MRS. MARIA - Saturday, 04 Jan 2003
Mrs. Maria Amalia (Mary) Caldwell (nee Walker) passed away suddenly on Saturday, January 4th, 2003 in the Kelowna General Hospital at the age of 79 years.
Mary was born in Duais, France on September 25th, 1923 and immigrated to Canada with her parents in 1925. She attended school in Osoyoos and North Vancouver, B.C. During her lifetime Mary worked as a plumber, at an aircraft plant, as a hairdresser and as a restaurant cook. She was also a member of the Royal Purple, the Toastmasters and St. John's Lutheran Church.
She was predeceased by her brother Etienne, her parents, Stephan and Maria Walker and her husband (John) Delbert Caldwell. She will be sadly missed by her three sons and daughters-in-law; Kenneth & Denean of Lumby, B.C., James & Eileen and Tom & JoAnne of Vernon, B.C., one daughter and son-in-law; Delores & Ole Jensen of Winfield, Alberta, 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren
Cremation preceded the Funeral Service which will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church on Saturday, January 18th, 2003 at 1:30 p. m. with Pastor Roy White officiating. Dora, beloved wife of Peter Wiebe of Abbotsford, passed suddenly into the presence of her Lord on March 29, 2003 at the MSA Hospital at age 80.

David G. Rasmus, born in Mission March 16, 1948, passed away peacefully March 27, 2003, in his home in Trail, after a courageous fight with cancer.
He is survived by his wife Donna, daughters Kristy & Andrea, parents George & Ella, brothers Ken (Holly), Bob (Peggy), Stan (Martina) & Victor, sisters Carole (Bill) & Jeanne, also many nieces & nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Cameron, Oct. 2001.
A memorial service was held at his Middle School Gym, March 31, 2003, where his nephew Rev. Bill Rasmus officiated. In his memory donations to the Foster Childrens Plan or Canadian Red Cross (Iraqi Relief Fund) would be appreciated.

Mrs. Verna June Kimball, late of Abbotsford, passed away on March 25th, 2003 at the age of 84 years, at MSA Hospital.
She is survived by her loving family; daughters Pam (Brent) and Patti (Ric) of Abbotsford; sons Bob (Ruby) of Ajax, Ontario, Bill of Regina, SK and Barry (Jan) of St. Albert, AB; 8 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband and partner for life, Vince (1997), her parents, brothers and dear sister Donna (1959).

Edward Allan Pawson, age 81 of Mission, B.C. passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, March 25, 2003, surrounded by his loving family. He will be sadly missed by his devoted wife, Dorothy of 57 years; daughters, Phyllis (Darran), Linda (CArmen), Nancy, and Alana (Ray); son David (Denise); grandchildren, Tracey (Nick), Kristie, Angie (Chris), Kin (Wayne), Ted (Jodie), Justin, Melissa, Ed, Mike, and Amy; and great-grandchildren, James, Arianna, Braeden, Marina, Teron, Bradley, Peter, Curtis, and Maguire.
He also leaves his brother, Harry (Irene), and sister, Evelynn Tapio.
Al served his country in the Royal Canadian Navy during WW2. He worked for many years as a longshoreman on the New Westminster waterfront. Al was a kind and generous man. His family was his greatest joy. He treated everyone with unconditional love and acceptance.
A celebration of Al's life will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2003 at 2:00 p. m. from Hatzic Prairie Hall, 10845 Farms Road, Mission. Family and friends are most wecone to attend.
