Marion Houlden late of Abbotsford, B.C. passed away in Chilliwack General Hospital on July 30, 2003. Marion was born on November 9, 1926 in Minto, Manitoba.
Marion is survived by her husband Charles Houlden of 58 years of marriage. Her son Randy (Donnna) Houlden of Chilliwack. Her daughter Marnie (Phil) Anderson of Chilliwack. Sister Mrs. Doreen (Charles) King of Abbotsford, and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, brother-in-law Lawrence Nankivell, friends and neighbours.
Marion is predeceased by her son Clair William Houlden in 1978 and her son Michael Shawne Houlden in 1991. Her parents Jack and Vera Little, sisters Muriel Dowland, Florence Hart, Phyllis Nankivell, brothers Earl Little and Baby Roy.
Marion will be missed by all that knew her. She had a wonderful sense of humour which she retained until the end, often bringing surprised looks from her doctors and nurses who cared for her in her last days. There will be no service at her request. In lieu of flowers, should family and friends so desire, donations may be made in Marion's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of B.C. and Yukon or the B.C. Lung Association.

Passed away on Monday, July 28, 2003 at her home in Clearbrook, Mary Ann Konrad, aged 75 years.
Predeceased by her husband Peter in 1994. FADDEN, Laurence "Glenn" - Monday, 28 Jul 2003
Laurence "Glenn" Fadden passed away on Monday, July 28, 2003 at his home in Chilliwack with his family by his side. He was born on Sumas Prairie January 30th, 1921.
Predeceased by his first wife Winnifred - mother of his children - and his brother Philip, Glenn is survived by his wife Ray, sons Larry (Marilyn) and Rick (Bonnie), daughter Betty (Wayne) as well as his sisters Pat (Del) and Diane (Al). He also leaves behind 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and many and nieces and nephews.
Glenn farmed in his early years then spent the remainder of his working years as a road builder. Following retirement he and Ray enjoyed winters in California and vacations in Scotland and Australia.
The Funeral will be held at 11 AM August 1st in St. John's Anglican Church, 46098 Higginson Road, Sardis (Chilliwack), B.C. Interment to follow at Vedder View Gardens followed by tea at the Vedder Legion Branch 280 from 1-3 PM.
Flowers gratelfully declined - donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Cancer Society or Chilliwack Hospice appreciated.
SMITH, WILLIAM (BILL) - Saturday, 27 Sep 2003
William (Bill) Stanley Smith passed away on September 27, 2003 at the age of 60 years at Abbotsford, B.C.
Bill is survived by brother Ron of Vancouver Island, good friends Doug & Joanne Ruggles, Les Mattice of Williams Lake, B.C., as well as many friends in Surrey, B.C., nieces and friend Lynn Konechy.
He was predeceased by parents Lydia and Everett.
He was a graduate of UBC in 1965 with a Bachelor of Commerce degree. Bill's hobbies included any technical reading material he could get his hands on regarding the airline industry and railroads. Bill worked for many years as a commercial estimator.
Memorial services will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2003 at 1:00 p. m. at the Chapel of Henderson's Fraser Valley Funeral Home at 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford.

Evelyn Stella passed away September 27, 2003 at the Ebenezer Home in Abbotsford, B.C. at the age of 90.
Evelyn was predeceased by husband Edward P. Palechek, husband Patrick E. Doran; brother Orren W. Hardy, sister Phyllis E. Kennedy; mother Edith E. Hardy, father Milton R. Hardy; step-mother Mary Hardy and son-in-law, William I. Tyler.
She is survived by one sister, Velma M. Wenstob of Victoria, B.C. Evelyn will be missed by her daughter, Velma Gaudet (John), son, Dr. Neil Palechek (Marion), son Randy Palechek (Gudrun).
Grandchildren; Deryk Tyler (Cindy), Dr. Bill Tyler (Dr. Gloria), Steven Palechek (Angie), Gregory Palechek (Deanna).
Great-grandchildren; Kayle, Chelsey, Tristan, Evan and Casey Tyler; Alexandra, Samantha, Brett, Taylor and Mia Palechek.

John Anthony Richer, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 26, 2003 at the age of 71 years.
John will be lovingly remembered by Barbara his wife of 48 years; daughter Jane; sons John (Diana) and James (Tamara); grandchildren Jasmine, Michael, Jessica, Siobhan and Andrew; brothers Bill, Eddie and Victor; sisters Joan and Miriam.
A Memorial Service will take place on Saturday, October 4, 2003 at 1:00 p. m. at Mission Foursquare Gospel Church, 33837 Prentis Ave., Mission, B.C. with Pastor Barry Buzza officiating. John's sense of humour, fatherly presence and loving heart will greatly be missed. He's finally gone to see the face of his Lord.

It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Dorothy Ball on September 26, 2003, born March 9, 1920 in Hamlin, Alberta.
Dorothy was an active member of Alberta Women's Institute, and with her husband David, raised purebred Shorthorn cattle on the Silver Bell Ranch in Edmonton, Alberta. They moved the ranch to Deroche, B.C. in the late '60's.
Predeceased by her husband of 62 years, David, loving mother of Dan (Eileen) Ball, Ottawa, Lynne (Alex) Thurber, Phoenix, Arizona.
Grandmother of Barbara Eade, Sheila Ball, Kathy Ball, all of Ottawa, Leah Thurber of Phoenix, and Alexis Thurber of Seattle, also great-grandmother of Scott Bowes, Ottawa and predeceased by brother Hobert Perley and granddaughter Brenda Ball. Special friend of Tita Dekker. Service and reception Monday, September 29, 2003 at 1:00 p. m. from the Chapel of Henderson's Fraser Valley Funeral Home, 34537 Marshall Road, Abbotsford. A graveside service at Westlawn Cemetery, Edmonton will be held at a later date.

Our loving mother Elisabeth passed into the presence of the Lord on Friday, September 26, 2003, at the age of 87.
Born Elisabeth Rempel on January 6, 1916 at Rhineland, SK, she married John Funk in 1937. They farmed in Saskatchewan until moving to B.C. in 1960, living in Abbotsford for three years, then in Salmon Arm where they resided until John's death in January 1995. Elizabeth moved to Abbotsford shortly afterwards, where she made her home until her passing.
She was predeceased by husband John, two grandchildren, three brothers and one sister.
She is survived by five sons, John (Betty) of San Diego, Ca., Otto (Phyllis) of Abbotsford, Pete (Bev) of Surrey, Jim (Jane) of Kamloops, Steve of Abbotsford, and five daughters Judy (Bob) Fairclough of Abbotsford, Eva (Ron) Aish of Drayton Valley, AB, Margaret (Ken) McPherson of Terrace, Trudi (Gerry) Schalm of Penticton, and Pauline (Larry) Christianson of Metiskow, AB, as well as 23 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, four brothers and four sisters.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 1st at 1:00 p. m. from the Abbotsford Pentecostal Assembly (Lucas Centre) at 3145 Gladwin Road in Abbotsford. Friends who wish to view, may do so prior to the service.

Theodorus (Dick) late of Abbotsford, B.C. passed away on September 26, 2003 at age 83 years. He was predeceased by his first wife Alida and son Arie.
Survived by his lobing wife Bera. Children Dick Jr. (Pam), Rena (Norm), Frank (Peg), Gerald (Candice), John, and Sandrea (Dean) with 13 grandchildren. Also 8 stepchildren, 20 step grandchildren and 3 step great-grandchildren.

After generously sharing her life of 96 years with her family and friends, Mary Grass passed away peacefully September 26, 2003 comforted by her family and her faith.
Mary was a devoted mother, loving grandmother, caring great-grandmother, and was nearly a great-great-grandmother.
Predeceased by her husband Ewald (Ed) Grass in 1989, a dear grandson Doug and daughter-in-law Betty, as well as six brothers and one sister.
Mary leaves to celebrate her life, her sister Hilda of Kelowna, son Herb of Abbotsford, daughter Edith Heppner (Norm) of Abbotsford, son Ewald (Connie) of Kelowna, son Harold (Karen) of Nanaimo, 9 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew.
A special thank you to her grandchildren Joanne and Diane for their angelic-like care and comfort given to their beloved Gramma. The family would also like to thank Dr. Wallace and 3rd floor staff at MSA Hospital for their care and consideration.
A celebration of Mary's life took place at Peace Lutheran Church on Tuesday, September 30, 2003.

On the morning of September 24, 2003, God said to Leslie, "It's time for you to come Home, " and ever the obedient servant, Leslie went immediately.
Predeceased by brothers George and Chester, and sisters Florence, Hazel, Myrtle, and Pearl.
Leslie leaves behind to look forward to their eventual reunion in heaven his dear wife of 44 years, Carolyn; son Larry (Melanie) of Bothell, Washington; daughters Marilyn (Mark) Henderson of Abbotsford, and Lisa (David) Johnston of Langley; 12 grandchildren; Austin, Alan, and Andrew Grove; Chad, Ian, Bryan, and Melissa Freisen and Steven Henderson; Megan, Brooke, Amy, and Drew Johnston, brother Stan (Jean) Grove of Surrey, sister Helen Lindsay of Red Deer, Alberta, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Leslie was born on May 3, 1930, in Rich Valley, Alberta. After accepting Christ as his Savior as a young teenager, Leslie strongly felt called by the Lord to full time ministry as a pastor and church-planter.
In 1957, Leslie followed God's call to Japan where he continued his life's mission to bring people to the Lord. At a mission conference in Japan the following summer, he met Carolyn, and after their marriage in 1969 they worked there together until 1975, when they followed God's leading and moved their family to Brazil to work with both Japanese and Brazilians.
After retiring in 1995, Leslie and Carolyn went back numerous times both to Japan and Brazil to help in various capacities, including encouraging many pastors in their work. It was on their most recent trip of encouragement to a young pastor and his family in northern Brazil that God called Leslie Home.
Memorial services were held for Leslie in Abbotsford Evangelical Free Church on Friday, October 3 at 2:30 p. m. In lieu of flowers, contributions to White Fields Mission would be appreciated.

Chrystine Helena "Ella" Brown was born on February 29, 1916 in Scotland, and passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 23, 2003, with her family at her side at Dr. Stuart Pavilion, ECU, Mission, B.C.
She was predeceased by her loving husband Nelson (1966), her infant son Daniel and her infant daughter Mary Jane.
Chrystine is survived by her sons John (Vicki) of Mission, Hugh of Toronto, Sandy (Rebecca) of Abbotsford and Newt (Penny) of Maple Ridge; granddaughters Laura, Cori-lyn and Crispen; grandsons Jack, Dan, Dean and Todd, and their families. She is also survived by her family in Scotland; brother Charles (Jean) Paterson and Jane Paterson; as well as numerous nieces scattered about the globe.
A Celebration of her life will be held on Monday, September 29, 2003 at 11:00 a. m. at Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home, 7386 Horne Street, Mission, B.C.
