John Walter Hammer passed away peacefully on Friday, January 10, 2003 at Mission Memorial Hospital at the age of 85 years. Predeceased by his loving wife Lillian in 1994, as well as four brothers and one sister.
John will be lovingly remembered by his sons Dennis and Don (Cynthia); grandson Tyler; sister Anne (Walter) Woods; brother Fred (Ella); sister-in-law Jean Lightburn; nephew Jim (Shirley) and numerous other nieces, nephews and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 17, 2003 at 1:00 p. m. at Woodlawn Mission Funeral Home, 7386 Horne Street, Mission, B.C. If desired, donations in John's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to a charity of your choice.
WORTLEY, JIM - Friday, 10 Jan 2003
Jim Buchanan Wortley, born in Saskatoon, Sask., December 11, 1916, passed away peacefully January 10, 2003 in Abbotsford, B.C. He is lovingly remembered by his sons and daughters, Jim (Shirley), John, Donna Huber, Patricia (Don) Dangelmaier, grandchildren Fred, Wendy, Stephen, Kristy, George, Michael, Heather, Katherine and Pamela, 7 great grandchildren and many foster children who were part of the family.
Jim was predeceased by his wife Ruth and son-in-law Bruce Huber. Jim was a veteran of WWII and was active in the 15th Field Regiment until his retirement.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, January 21st at 1:30 p. m. in the Royal Canadian Legion, 20702 Eastleigh Crescent, Langley, B.C.

Terrance Donald Wetteland passed away peacefully at home in Harrison Hot Springs on Thursday, January 9, 2003 at the age of 52 years. He was born on May 11, 1950 in Flin Flon, Manitoba.
Terry was predeceased by his father Thomas, and is lovingly remembered by his mother Rita; daughter Nicole (Nicholas) Honeyman; son Michael (Marie); granddaughter Mikayla; sister Marnie (Peter) Grabinsky; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephew, cousins and friends.
A Funeral Service was held on Wednesday, January 15, 2003 at 1:00 p. m. at St. Andrew's United Church, 7756 Grand Street, Mission, B.C. with Reverend John Smallman officiating. Interment followed at Hatzic Cemetery. If desired, donations in Terry's

Mrs. Annabell Reid, late of Mission, passed away on January 8, 2003 at the age of 92 years at Mission Memorial Hospital.
She is survived by her husband of 66 years James Sinclair Reid, 5 children; Sharon (Gale)Dowd, Tyrone (Elizabeth), Jane (George) Donatelli, Duncan (Debbie), Alistair; 16 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 3 sisters; Edith, Rose and Norma and brother Desmond.
She was predeceased by her siblings; Edna, Bill, Marion, Jim and Maxie.
Annabell was born in Neepawa, Manitoba and moved to Sumas Prairie when she was 3 years old. After she married, they moved to Matsqui Prairie until 1976 when they moved to Mission.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2003 at 11:00 a. m. from the Chapel of Henderson's Funeral Home at 34537 Marshall Road
Cremation was held at Valley Crematorium, Chilliwack, B.C.

Dorothy "Dot" Hetherington passed away peacefully at ECU, Mission Memorial Hospital on Monday, January 6, 2003 at the age of 84 years. Predeceased by her first husband Denis O'Connor.

Cora May Lindmark passed away peacefully on Monday, January 6, 2003 at ECU, Mission Memorial Hospital at the age of 93 years.
Cora was predeceased by her mother, father, brother Bruce, sister Florence, husband Axel and cousins Grace Lockhart, Jim Sproule and Bob Drew.
She is survived by and will be remembered as a mother to Emily Drew; as a favourite auntie to Maurice (Janet), Brian (Dawn), Ralph (Carol), Bruce (Joan), Deith (Lori), Maureen and their families; a very special aunt to Maxine Natrasony and family; and cousin to many. She will be remembered with love by the "Rolls" and "Greig" families and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, January 23, 2003 at 11:00 a. m. at St. Andrew's United Church, 7756 Grand Street, (at 10th Street), with Reverend Judy Stark officiating. Heather Sharon Mavor Sapielak went peacefully into the arms of the Lord on Thursday, January 2, 2003 at the age of 61 years. Heather was born in Moosejaw, Saskatchewan, where 22 years later she married her beloved husband, Stan.
In her 34 years as a nurse, Heather worked at MSA Hospital for 30 years. She was predeceased by her father James Boan and husband Stan. Survived by her mother Myrtle (Scotty) Boan, brothers Bryce (Birdie) and Duncan (Barb), sons Malcolm (Laurie), James, Kevin and grandchildren Michaela and James. She was loved by all.

Virginia May Cordick (nee Holton) succumbed after a lengthy illness and died January 2, 2003 at Mission Memorial Hospital. She was born May 31, 1914 near Salvadore, Saskatchewan the eldest of 5 children; 3 brothers and 1 sister.
She taught Sunday School and dreamed of becoming a full time school teacher and supported herself through the great depression and the Seocnd World War before getting married and raising seven children of which she devoted all her time and attention. She has spent the last six years of her life at the Stuart Pavilion, here she enjoyed reading, bowling and wiping the floor with her bingo opponents.
She will always be remembered for her sharp wit and unbelievable memory for reciting poetry and will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her three daughters; Debbie Neuner, Dinah Batke & Darcie Trafananko, 1 step daughter Joan Parrish, 1 step son Howard Cordick, along with numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service and celebration of life will be held on January 10. 2003 at the Chapel in the Mission Memorial Hospital, 7324 Hurd Street, Mission at 10:00 a. m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a scholarship fund in her name. Call 826-2572 for information.

Edward, suddenly, at Abbotsford, B.C. on Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2002, aged 78 years. Ed is survived by Rose, his loving wife of 56 years.
He leaves also his children, Richard, Max (Laura), David, Stephen (Jean) and Aleta. Ed will be sadly missed by his seven grandchildren, one great-granddaughter and his brother Bob. He will be fondly remembered by his many dear friends.

REAMSBOTTOM, DENNIS - Tuesday, 31 Dec 2002
Dennis Seaton Reamsbottom of Mission, B.C. on December 31, 2002 in his 86th year.
Born March 3, 1916 at Kamloops, B.C. Denny is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Frances Rebecca "Becky" Reamsbottom. Denny is also survived by his son, George of Vancouver, daughter-in-law, Iris of Maple Ridge, granddaughter Felicia and her husband Rob, of Port Moody, granddaughter Amelia and her husband Phil of Woss, and -to Denny's great pride- his great granddaughters Kailey and Kiera. Also survived by his brothers Jack of 100 Mile House and Bob of Powell River as well as many nieces and nephews.
Denny survived his country overseas in World War II, losing an arm in battle in December 1944. He was a member of the War Amps Association of Canada.
Denny and Becky retired to McConnell Creek, near Mission in 1971, and it was there that he formed many lasting friendships, as he became actively involved in country life. An avid supporter of the Farmer's Institute. Denny also took the time to enjoy fishing, bingo, landscaping his land and any winning game by the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Denny will be remembered by all.
A memorial service will be held at the Miracle Valley Salvation Army Dining Hall, Saturday, January 11th from 1:00 p. m. - 3:00 p. m. If desired, memorial donations may be made to the McConnell Creek Farmer's Institute (for hall reconstruction). 604-826-2349.
