HARTLEY, Victor St. John - Monday, 28 Mar 2005
Victor St. John Hartley passed away on Mar. 28, 2005 at The Lynnwood Residence in Chilliwack at age 87 years.
He was born Feb. 9, 1918 in Grassy Plains, now part of Prince George.
Vic is survived by his daughters, Patty Matthews (Philip), and Diane Whittaker of Chilliwack, sons Campbell of Winnipeg and Michael (Janina) of Germany, 9 grandchildren: Julie (Jim), Creston; Cameron (Melanie), Vancouver; Zoe (Dan), Courtenay; Cricket, Galen, Victoria; Cloe (Paul), Deep Cove; Jason, (Angie), New Denver, Anias and Julian, Germany; 9 great-grandchildren, and his sister Patty Marks of Ladner.
He was predeceased by his wife Jacqui, 2 brothers, 2 sisters and grandson Peter.
Victor loved his job as a pharmacist / manager for Cunningham Drugs and later Shoppers Drug Mart. In his spare time he loved golfing, playing cards, and fishing on his boat with his buddies.
Dad was a real character with a zest for life, a great attitude towards people and a very sharp wit. He was an entertaining story teller. His friends and family remember many good times listening to him play “boogie woogie” on the piano. Everyone that knew Dad enjoyed his company immensely and his sense of humour kept him going for 87 years.
He will be deeply missed.
A Celebration of his life will be held on Sat., April 2, 2005 at Patty & Phil’s home, 3:00-5:00 p.m.
Memorial donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of B.C. and Yukon, in Victor’s name.
ERMACORA, Lillian B. P. - Monday, 28 Mar 2005
Lillian Ermacora passed away on March 28, 2005 at Chilliwack, BC at age 85 years. She was born November 1, 1919 in Medicine Hat, Alberta.
Lillian is survived by her spouse of 36 years Frank Fortie. She was predeceased by her husband, Hector Ermacora and son, Garry.
Lillian loved Chilliwack and returned to live here after many years in Kimberley. She was a successful business owner and ran a floral shop and other business there before returning to Chilliwack.
A Graveside service will be held at the Kimberley Cemetery, Kimberley, BC Monday, April 4, 2005 at 1:30.

Dombro, Evelyn Isabella (nee MacDonald) - of Chilliwack, passed away peacefully March 29, 2005 at Chilliwack General Hospital.
Evelyn was born October 13, 1913 in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and was predeceased by her loving husband Kurt in 1983. She is survived by her daughters Diane (Tom) Field, Cheryl (Stewart) Parker, three grandchildren Suzanne in Taiwan, James and Tara of Chilliwack, and one sister Dorothy Ulm of Swift Current, Saskatchewan.
A graveside service will be held at the Chilliwack Cemeteries Monday, April 4th at 1:00 PM with Pastor Don Law Officiating. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. David Fitzpatrick, and the staff of the Bradley Centre for their care and compassion during Mom’s stay.

Jim Storey born November 24, 1951, passed away peacefully March 25, 2005.
Survived by his loving wife Karen; daughter Monique and her finance Kevin Jamieson; mother Dorothy Seddon; father Louis (Arlie) Storey; sister Maggie Enns; nephew Dustin Enns and his fiance Melanie Pecor; and among many friends and relatives, Kevin and Nancy Hilliard.
He was predeceased by his nephew Joshua Enns.
A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held April 1, 2005 at 12 noon at Cultus Lake Community Hall.

SCHUBERT, Waldemar (Walter) - Tuesday, 22 Mar 2005
Waldemar (Walter) Schubert passed away suddenly on March 22, 2005 in Chilliwack General Hospital.
Predeceased by his father, Waldemar Senior (1983), Walt is survived by his mother, Elizabeth, his daughter and son-in-law, Danielle and Brad Peters and two beautiful grandchildren, Faith and Paige, as well as aunts and cousins.
Walt was born on September 18, 1946 in Delmenhorst, Germany. Walt and his family immigrated to Canada in the year of 1951 and have resided in the town of Chilliwack since then. After graduating from Chilliwack Senior High School in 1965, Walt worked alongside his father at Schubert Construction. Following the passing of Waldemar Senior, Walt made a career change and began working with Corrections Canada in the maintenance department.
In his spare time Walt enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and the great outdoors; as well as bowling, golfing and other recreational activities. Walt also had a passion for hot rods and sports cars, many of which he owned and often entered into car shows. He was extremely proud of his mother, daughter and son-in-law and cherished the time spent with them and his new grandchildren. Walt was well known in the community, enjoyed visiting with friends and neighbors and was always willing to lend a helping hand to those in need.
A celebration of Walt’s life will be held at Christ Lutheran Church, 9460 Charles St. in Chilliwack on Wednesday, Mar. 30, 2005 at 11:30 a.m.

LEONTOWICH, Caroline - Friday, 25 Mar 2005
Caroline Leontowich, nee Vajda, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2005 at Chilliwack General Hospital.
Caroline was born in Rybnik, Slovakia. She immigrated to Canada with her parents and sister when she was nine years old. The family settled in Columbia Valley where Caroline grew up and attended school.
Caroline will be sadly missed by her husband of 60 years, Michael. She leaves behind her two sons: Ron of Sardis; Gord (Elsie) of Fort Langley; a daughter, Bev (Bob) Simbalist of Calgary; granddaughter, Jennifer (Dale) Skulsky of Calgary; her dear sister Anne Langdon of Sardis and her faithful dog, Freckles. She will also be fondly remembered by extended family.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the many health care professionals that provided comfort and care for Caroline during her lengthy illness.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home on Thursday, Mar. 31, 2005 at 2 p.m. Major Angus Haggarty officiating. Cremation, Valley Crematorium, Chilliwack.

BARBER, Bertha Aneta - Wednesday, 23 Mar 2005
1913-2005
Bertha Aneta Barber passed away March 23, 2005 in Chilliwack, BC at the age of 91 years. She was born May 16, 1913 on the family homestead in Ryder Lake.
She is survived by her son, Wes (Colleen), Ryder Lake; daughter, Eleanor (Graeme) Reid, Lyman, WA, and twin daughter, Bea (Phil) Mazurenko, Ryder Lake. Bertha is survived by eight grandchildren, Fred (Kay) Gentry, Kathy (Richard) Watson, Rob (Maureen) Mazurenko, Perry (Wendy) Mazurenko, Bill (Lisa) Barber, Sheri (Ray) Benson, Shawn (Brandy) Reid, Jodi (Steve) Brown and 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a sister, Verla Farr and brother, Bill (Hazel) Walters.
Bertha was predeceased by her husband Fred; twin daughter, Bev Gentry; great-grandson, Brett Mazurenko; sister- and brother-in-law, Ethel and Ben Donald; nephew, Gordon Donald and brother-in-law, Fred Farr.
Bertha was a dedicated mother, grandmother and a beloved aunt to Lynda, Art, Ethel and Pat. She was a devoted Woman’s Institute member since 1940. Bertha was involved in making Ryder Lake a special community, where she resided for 90 years. She was a quilter and for many years, helped with the needlework section in the Chilliwack Exhibition.
Her motto was “If there is work to be done, get at it.”
Mom has left us with a legacy and was a mentor to her family.
The family give special thanks to Dr. John Campbell, McIntosh Lodge staff, Johanne Neufeld and Lynda Fraser.

WILSON, Lilian Mae - Saturday, 19 Mar 2005

Lilian passed away peacefully on March 19, 2005 at the Rockyview General Hospital at the age of 75.
She will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered by her children, Shirley (Brian Leschuk), Beverley and Roy, six grandchildren, Teresa (Ryan Dodd), Melissa (Michael Dodd), Jason, Crystal, Miranda and Brittney as well as her great-grandchildren, Nolan, Lily, Teryn and Paige.
Lilian was predeceased by her husband Roy, her daughter Bernice and son Russell.
A Memorial Service will be held at Heritage Funeral Home, 1708-16th Ave. NW, (across from the North Hill Shopping Centre) on Wednesday, Mar. 23, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. A Celebration of her life will be held following the Memorial Service at the Westgate Community Centre, 4943-8th Ave. SW in the Club Room.

THIESSEN, Helen - Saturday, 19 Mar 2005
Helen Thiessen passed away on March 19, 2005 at the Menno Home in Abbotsford, B.C.
She was born on December 25, 1914 in Aberdeen District, Sask. to her parents Peter & Helen Boschman.
Helen married Julius Thiessen March 17, 1933 and moved to a farm in the Swan Plain district in 1934. In 1965 they moved to acreage in the Greendale district in British Columbia and retired to Chilliwack in 1978.
Helen is survived by 5 children Wilson, Patricia, Lloyd, George and Gerald, 14 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren, one sister Marie and one brother Peter.
She is predeceased by her husband Julius, daughter Lillian, grandson Kenneth and sisters Gertrude and Agatha, brothers John and Harold.
Funeral service will be held Monday, Mar. 28, 2005 at 2 pm at the First Mennonite Church in Greendale with Pastor George Hoeppner officiating. Interment to follow beside her husband in the Greendale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mennonite Central Committee.

of Nanaimo, BC. Formerly of Chilliwack, BC. Passed away April 22, 2006 at the age of 92. She was born September 27, 1913 in Lashburn, Saskatchewan. Marion is survived by two sons: Phillip (Iona) of Langford, BC; Larry (Gail) of Ladysmith, BC; one sister Peggy Hague, of Nanaimo, and four grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
Marion was predeceased by her husband of 60 years Andre Trahan in 1992; her parents and brothers: Marvin Foster and George PAxton. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, April 27, 2006 at 11:00 am at Trinity Catholic Church 6234 Sparatan Rd., Nanaimo BC, Father Piotr Golnski celebrant. ROOS, Josiah Richard - Saturday, 22 Apr 2006
On April 22, 2006 Josiah Richard Roos passed from our arms into the arms of Jesus. Born February 7, 2004, Josiah leaves to mourn his parents, Lisa and Ken Roos; brothers and sisters Jessalyn, Joleen, Devin, Kari, Jesse, Justin, Taryn, Joltie, Jaco, Kiara, Jazira, and Dumaya; grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Marinus Roos, Mr. and Mrs. James Bremer, and Anne Youmans. He is loved and will be missed by many aunts and uncles.
Josiah was a very special little boy who had a great impact on the lives of those around him. His sweet smile was a joy to everyone.

REINHARDT, Anne (Janzen) - Saturday, 22 Apr 2006
A loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt, Anne Reinhardt passed away peacefully into the Presence of her Lord at Eden Care Home on April 22, 2006.
She was born on November 7, 1919 at Shanzenfeld, Manitoba and moved with her family to Rosedale in 1943. She married Peter Janzen in 1958 and became a devoted mother to his children; Ed and Sandra while working in the dry cleaners and helping Peter run his cement contracting business until his death in 1981.
Ann married Ernest Reinhardt in 1985 and they enjoyed many happy times, camping, fishing, watching hockey games and meeting friends for coffee at local restaurants. She was also a great carpet bowler and loved singing, wearing pretty clothes and driving fast! Ernie passed away in 1994 and she was also predeceased by her sisters Lena, Mary and Edna, her niece Debbie and her beloved grandson Scott Voth in 1997.
Anne is remembered lovingly by her family; Ed (Judy) Janzen of Qualicum Beach, daughter Sandi (Michaell) Halperin of Dundas, Australia, grandson Barry (Charlie) Janzen and great grandson, Riley of Victoria, brother Len (Betty) Peters of Sardis and sister Aggie Lewis of Vernon, her sisters-in-law Irma Arlt and Ann Robertson, Ernie’s children; Judy Reinhardt, Carole and John Weins (Kristen, Trevor and Theresa), Susan Reinhardt and Maureen and David Boychuk, also adoring nieces and nephews Bob, Lois, Doreen, Jeanette, Lorraine, Greg, Ken, Cynthia, Doug, Ron, Brad and Patti.
Anne was loved by all for her kind and gentle nature. She made her home a welcoming place for everyone. The family would like to thank the staff of Eden Intermediate Care for their tender care of Anne for the past several years. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 28th, 2006 at 2:30 pm at Henderson’s Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers a donation in Anne’s memory may be made to the B.C. Heart and Stroke Foundation.
