ALKE, Margaret Alke (nee MacDonald) - Monday, 17 Sep 2007
Margaret Alke, born in Vancouver, B.C. on October 18, 1916 passed away in Chilliwack Hospital on September 14, 2007.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband, John, in 2005, her eldest daughter Eloise Pettigrew (Wally) in 2006 and her grandson Aaron Gagnon in 1997.
She is lovingly remembered by her daughters Mary-Susan Gagnon (Peter), of Chilliwack, Elizabeth Alke of Edmonton, AB and Hillary Bray (Ian) of Surrey, B.C. and her son, Byron (Carol) Alke of Courtenay, BC; nine grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Margaret and John moved from White Rock to Hope in 1986 and then due to health concerns, moved to Chilliwack in 2001 to be closer to their daughter, Mary-Susan.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Chilliwack on Saturday, September 22, 2007 at 11:00 am. Rev. Paul Than Bui, celebrant.
Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Chillliwack.
PILLOUD, Lawrence Wilfred - Sunday, 16 Sep 2007
Lawrence Wilfred Pilloud passed away Sunday, September 16, 2007 at the Bradley Centre, Chilliwack, at age 86 years. He was born March 21, 1921 in Notre Dame de Lourdes, Manitoba.
Larry is survived by his former wife, Yvonne; daughter, Lorraine (Ron); sons, Ron (Debra) and Gordon (Dee); grandchildren, Tina, Jason, Hubert, Larry, David and Jesse; many great-grandchildren, one surviving sister, Esther Rey and his good friend Hazel McDaniel. He is predeceased by his parents Oliver and Lena, brothers Henry and Fred and Larry’s wife Laurel, who passed away in 2001.
Special thanks to Dr. Grunow and the staff of the Bradley Center for the care and support during his illness, The family also wish to thank the staff of Norman Manor where he was a long time resident.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 20, 2007 at 1:30 pm at Woodlawn Mt. Cheam Funeral Home, 45865 Hocking Ave. Chilliwack.

Richard Petker passed away Sept. 25, 2007 at Chilliwack B.C.
Richard was born in Chilliwack Oct. 10, 1954, to Henry & Mary Petker. He had a happy childhood growing up on the family farm in East Chilliwack. He attended school at East Chilliwack, Miller, Rosedale and Chilliwack Senior High.
In the early years, Richard worked for Fraser Vale and later, on the oil rigs in Northern B.C. He spent 20 years as welder for Pre-con Products in Abbotsford.
Richard is survived by his wife Sheran, mother Mary Petker, brothers Walter (Marg) Petker, Ed (Katherine) Collins, sister Katy (George) Young, extended family Sandra Brawn and Roy Brawn as well as many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father Henry Petker and sister Lydia Schmautz.

McElrevy, John Wilson passed away peacefully on September 23rd, 2007 in Burnaby B.C. at the age of 85 years. John was predeceased by his wife Beatrice in 1990. He will be lovingly remembered by his son, Larry McElrevy (Arna), his daughters, Sharon Willdey (Bob), Linda Carr (Warren), Susan (John), Norma (John), grandchildren, Eric, Becky, Jamie, Erin, Alissa, Cory, Rob, Natalie, Nick, Lilli, and Haley as well as six great-grandchildren, and many other relatives and friends. BOURGEAULT-HOWE, Suzanne - Saturday, 22 Sep 2007
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Suzanne Corinne Mae Bourgeault-Howe on Sat, Sept. 22, 2007. Suzanne was born in New Westminster on February 20, 1975.
She is survived by her common-law husband, Norman Howe, her daughter Chantal Bourgeault, mother Corinne Page of Surrey, siblings Denis Brisson, Gerald Brisson, Claude Brisson, Lina Brisson, Lucien Brisson, Diane Lebel and Michael Lebel. Sue also had two brothers on her dad’s side of the family. There are also many aunts, uncles, nieces including Danielle, Cory and nephews including Jeremy and others. Suzanne was predeceased by her father Raymond Bourgeault.
A viewing for family and friends will be held Monday, October 1, 2007 from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. at Henderson’s Funeral Home 45901 Victoria Ave, Chilliwack.
A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, October 2, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. at Chilliwack United Church, 45835 Spadina Ave, Chilliwack, with Rev. Doug Ireland and Mrs. Carolyn Gaunt officiating.
Suzanne befriended many from all walks of life. Her most treasured moments were time spent with her daughter Chantal. In her travels with Norm she saw 40 states and six provinces.
The family wishes to express their many thanks to the Ambulance Attendants and the staff of Chilliwack General and Royal Columbian Hospitals.
Suzanne will live in our hearts forever.

Hage passed away suddenly at the age of ninety two. He was pre-deceased by his wife Ann in 1999.
He is survived by Sons: Klass (Trixie), Cornelus (Janice) and Daughter: Ann Margaret; Eight Grand Children: Ian, Shannon, Kim, Tanya, Erin, Wesley, Chantelle and Krystal; Six Great-Grand Children: Connor, Alexis, Ben Kyla, Anna and Thomas.
He will be sadly missed by his family and his many friends.
A Service of Thanksgiving for Hage’s life will be held at Henderson’s Funeral Home in Chilliwack on Friday October 5th, 2007 at 11.00am.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

May Evelyn Richmond – “Mickey” – passed away Tuesday, September 11, 2007 at Chilliwack, B.C. at the age of 93 years. She was born October 3, 1913 in Keefers, B.C., lived most of her years in North Bend, B.C., and in Chilliwack for the past fifteen years.
Mickey is survived by her loving family: daughter Leonora (Darrell) Tenbrink; son Lorne (Margaret) Richmond – both of Chilliwack; sisters Margaret Page and Irene Richmond – both of Kamloops; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
She was sadly predeceased by her husband Leonard in 1985; three sisters and one brother.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm, on Wednesday, September 19, 2007 from St John’s Anglican Church; 46098 Higginson Rd, Chilliwack

Ethel passed away at B.C. Center in Vancouver, Sunday July 22, 2007 at the age of 72.
Born to Gustave and Amelia Nixdorf on March 22, 1935 in Jansen Saskatchewan, she was one of twelve children.
Her generous and giving spirit will be sadly missed by family and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband Manly (1978), both her parents, her 3 brothers and 6 of her sisters.
She is survived by her children: Sons; James and Albert, daughters; Rose (Ken) Atkinson, Isabel, Anna (Walter) English, Liz (Nick Tucker), grandchildren; James, Rachelle, Ralph, Tony and Darwin, great-granddaughter; Kalyna and 2 sisters.
Funeral Services will be held in the chapel of Henderson’s Funeral Home at 11 am, Saturday July 28, 2007. Interment to follow at Vedder View Cemetery.

BONNER, Frances Mary Lillian (Gervais) - Saturday, 21 Jul 2007
Frances Mary Lillian (Gervais) passed away suddenly on July 21, 2007 in Surrey, B.C. at the age of 86 years. Predeceased by her husband Vince and sister Violet, Frances is survived by daughters Linda (Doug), Karen (Paul) and sons Ken (Tanya), Doug (Terrina).
Also survived by grandchildren Jeanette, Erika, Keith, Jessica, Emma and Mackenzie and great-granddaughter Sophia and great-grandson Ayden. She also leaves a loving extended family of nieces, nephews and a circle of friends who filled her life with love and laughter. Frances will always be remembered for her generosity and sense of humour.
A celebration of her life was held at 5:00 pm Tuesday, July 24, 2007 at the Maple Ridge Community Church, 20450 Dewdney Trunk Road, Maple Ridge, B.C. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation.
LOVELESS, Helena Stella - Friday, 20 Jul 2007
Helena Stella Loveless late of Chilliwack passed away at the Eden Care Facility on July 20th 2007, age 91. She was born Sept. 27, 1915 in Birmingham, England.
Helena was married to Arthur ‘Buddy’ Loveless. After her husband died she came to Canada in 1955. Helena worked for the British Foreign Service during the War. She worked for the Consular Service in Seattle and then worked at The United Nations as the British Travel Officer for 14 years. Following that she worked for the Christian Science Church administering their nursing homes both in America and in England. She retired in 1981 and settled in Chilliwack.
She will be greatly missed by her niece, Jean Woods, and her husband Norman. Her great nephew Chris and his wife Angela and their son Peter in Chilliwack, her great nieces, Stephanie Woods of Calgary and Susan Diemert and Vincent and family. Stephanie Robichaud and Marjorie Mallais her nieces, nephew Graham Fowler and all the families in the Miramichi, New Brunswick, Judy and Peter Wermig in France.
We all will remember her for her wonderful sense of family, her generosity of spirit and her amazing sense of humour.
We express our appreciation to all the staff and volunteer’s at the Eden Intermediate Care Facility for the loving care provided to Aunty over the last year.

PENNER, Lydia - Thursday, 19 Jul 2007
Lydia Penner late of Chilliwack, B.C., passed away peacefully on July 19th after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born on Nov. 5, 1935 in Burwalde, Ukraine.
Funeral Services will be held on July 26th at 10:00 am at Henderson’s Funeral Home. Interment at Vedder View Gardens.
Lydia will be lovingly remembered by her children: Elaine (Glen) Barrett, Linda Garayt, Brenda (Rick) Hermann, Wayne (Julie) Penner, nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Lydia was predeceased by her loving husband Dave after 45 wonderful years of marriage.
The family would like to thank Dr. David Fitzpatrick and the 4th floor nurses at the Chilliwack hospital for the excellent care they provided.
