BROWNE, Jean (nee Thornley) passed away peacefully October 16, 2003. Jean was born November 23, 1912 in Vancouver. She is survived by her loving children, Marion Porath (Merv) of Vancouver, Craig of Surrey, and Rosemary Shale (Keith) of Trail. She also will be greatly missed by her grandchildren, Garth, Tara and Angela; and her great-grandchildren Brett and Emmy. Jean was predeceased by her husband Buster in 1991. Jean lived her life with grace and dignity. She touched the lives of all who knew her. She leaves a wonderful legacy of faith, strength, caring and courage. Thanks to the staff at Windermere Care Centre, St. Michael's Centre and Vancouver General Hospital for their dedication and care. A private memorial service will be held. BRUMMITT, Evelyn passed away peacefully on October 15, 2003 at Peace Arch Hospital. Loving wife and mother, Evelyn is survived by her husband, Walter; her son, Gordon (Dawn); her daughter, Colleen (Eric); and grandchildren, Grant and Dianne. BUCKLAND, Lynn Dianne (nee Moreton) passed away October 14, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer. Lynn was predeceased by her mother Betty Moreton and her father Earle Moreton. She will remain forever in the hearts and memories of her loving family and friends. Lynn is survived by her daughters, Nicole and Danica and their father Chan; stepsons, Bruce (Linda) Buckland and Gary (Alix) Buckland; her sisters, Julie Moreton and Terry (Timothy) Renshaw; nephew and niece, Connor and Brittany Renshaw; and step grandchildren, Christopher, Jeffery, Kennedy and Brynn Buckland. The family would like to especially thank her devoted friends who were always at her side. Lynn developed a passion for golf later in her life and shared its challenges and joys with the many friends she met while playing the game. A celebration of Lynn's life will be held at the Shaughnessy Golf Club's Garden Lounge, 4300 S.W. Marine Drive, Vancouver from 3 - 5 pm on Wednesday, October 22, 2003. The family would also like to thank the wonderful team at Vancouver Hospital's Palliative Care unit. BYMAN, Ruth (Arthur). Born November 12th, 1931 in Truro England. Ruth died peacefully on the morning of October 9th, 2003 surrounded by her loving family. She will be missed and lovingly remembered by her children Andrea (Eric), Vickie and Eric (Kathryn); grandchildren Kelly, Aidan and Liam; her only sister Margaret and many other family members, close friends and colleagues. She is predeceased by her husband Allan and her mother Gertrude. Ruth moved to Canada as a young woman to pursue her career as a physiotherapist. She worked for many years at Hollyburn Physiotherapy Clinic where her caring and positive attitude and can-do approach helped many patients overcome the effects of illness and injury. A Memorial Service will be held at the West Vancouver Yacht Club from 4:30 - 7:00 p.m. on Friday, October 24th. BARAZZUOL, Eugenio, 82 years young, passed away suddenly on November 20, 2003. Born in Treviso, Italy, he leaves to treasure his memory his loving wife of 49 years, Arcangela; his son Renzo (Daniela) and daughter Ida; and many close friends and relatives in Canada and in Italy. Eugenio was a great father, devoted husband and good friend. His positive outlook on life was an inspiration to us all. His family meant everything to him and it showed in all he did. He will be forever remembered for his happy smile, carefree attitude and love of life. BENINTESO, Gino, born January 18, 1915 in Civitanova, Del Sannio, Isernia, Italy passed away in Vancouver on November 19, 2003. Gino is survived by his loving family: daughter Albina (Pasquale); sons, Carlo (Pina) and Antonio (Ada); grandchildren, Lena, Angela, Jessica, Marco, Paolo, Stefano and Massimo; and great-granddaughter Maya. BLOEM, Gertrud (Trudy) nee MEIER passed away November 15th, 2003 at Purdy Pavilion, UBC Hospital, aged 83 years. She is survived by her loving husband Gerard, of 52 years; her sister Rosi Zuber of Germany; brother Albert of Switzerland and their families. She was predeceased by her sisters Therese Vogel and Marie Fehr (both of Switzerland). Trudy was born in Zurich (Switzerland) and emigrated to Canada in 1955. Trudy was a very loving and caring wife and enjoyed pampering her guests. She loved nature and delighted in hiking and camping with like-minded people from a variety of clubs. Amongst her interests were the Alpine Club of Canada, North Shore Hikers, Vancouver Natural History Society and Dunbar Lapidary Club, etc. She was fond of the Yukon, the Yukon Centennial Expedition camp of 1967 was a highlight. She liked helping out in the various clubs, never avoiding a mundane chore. She will be remembered and missed by many because of her generous nature. Special thanks to Dr. Fritz, nurses and staff who contributed so much to the comfort of Trudy during her four-year stay at Purdy. CHRISTOPHERSON, Luther Augustine, died peacefully at the Icelandic Care Home, Vancouver November 16, 2003. Luther was born January 30, 1920 in Winnipeg and his parents were among the first Icelandic settlers in Canada. Luther moved to Vancouver in 1940 and worked over 35 years for Fleck Bros. Ltd. Luther was predeceased by his first wife Marjorie and second wife Kay, and will be fondly remembered by his many relatives and friends. A Service will be held at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 1499 Laurier at Granville Street, Vancouver, Monday, November 24, 2003 at 10:30 am followed by inurnment at 12 noon in Forest Lawn Cemetery, Royal Oak at Canada Way, Burnaby. In lieu of flowers, donations to Redeemer Lutheran Church would be appreciated.

CLARK, Deborah S. January 9, 1954 - November 18, 2003 Passed away after a five year battle with cancer. She is survived by her mother, Shirley; aunts, Barbara Thomson, and Marjorie (Gerry) Bone; cousins, Craig Gordon and Moira Brown and friends. DAVIS-KLICHE, Eva (nee Janz), born January 25, 1936, passed away November 19, 2003 at St. Mary's Hospital, Sechelt, B.C. Eva will be missed by her loving family: husband George Kliche; brother Verner (Wendy); sons, Gordon (Pam), Michael (Maria) and Grant Davis; and step daughter Gabriele. Eva was well loved by her grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many friends. Eva was a long-time resident of North Vancouver where she worked as a Laboratory Technician and Supervisor. She happily retired to the Sunshine Coast in 1990 where she became an active member of the Gibsons Yacht Club and served briefly as its Commodore. A Celebration of her Life will be held for family and friends on Saturday, November 29 at 1:00 p.m. at the Gibsons Yacht Club, 473 Gower Point Road. DEMARE, Salvatore - October 15th, 1922 (Albi, Catanzaro, Italy) - November 20th, 2003 (Burnaby). With profound sadness we bid farewell to our dear loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.
