PAZDER: On March 5, 2004 Dr. Lawrence Henry Pazder suddenly and peacefully passed away at home of a heart attack, at the age of 67.
To know Larry was to be loved.
He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, a compassionate physician and an advocate for the homeless.
He was known for his deep and abiding faith, his boundless energy, his selflessness and generosity, his love of the outdoors, and his sense of humour.
Larry had the profound gift to connect deeply with everyone he met; he had friends and family from every walk of life who will miss him deeply.
Born on April 30, 1936 in Edmonton, to his beloved Stanley and Helen Pazder.
He graduated from University of Alberta School of Medicine.
After returning from two years of tropical medicine in Africa, he specialized in psychiatry at McGill University.
He helped thousands of people during his 40 years as a respected psychiatrist.
He was the founder and president of the Anawim Companion Society.
His passions were gardening, the Wine Guild, hunting, fishing, travelling and especially the Canucks.
His love of life will live on in each of us.
He leaves behind his wife and soulmate Michelle, his children, Lawrence (Sue), Theresa (Derek), David, John (Judith) and Tertia (Rick); grandchildren, Alex, James, Justin, Eric, Ethan, Nolan, Ellen, John and Benjamin; brothers, Ron (Lilian) and Henry (Susan) as well as many nieces and nephews.
Larry was predeceased by his brother Ted and sister Virginia.
Prayers will be offered at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 4049 Gordon Head Road, Victoria, BC on Thursday, March 11, 2004 at 7:30 p.m. where a Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, March 12, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. with Father Mike Favera officiating.
Reception and interment to follow. Donations in Larry’s honour may be made to the Anawim Companion Society, 973 Caledonia Street, Victoria, BC, V8T 1E7.

KULLMAN: Rudy passed away suddenly at home in Victoria, BC on March 2, 2004.
Predeceased by his wife Eileen in 1997 and brothers, Karl, Harold and George; and a sister, Eleanor.
He is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth Kullman and Dorothy (Wally) Knight; also a brother, Walter (Dorothy) as well as numerous nephews and nieces.
Rudy was a longtime employee of the Times-Colonist, a member of the Pressman’s Union – Local #25, Haida Lodge AF & AM, and a member of the Order of Amaranth (Past Grand Royal Patron).
Memorial Service will be held in the Sands Funeral Chapel, 1803 Quadra Street, Victoria, BC on Monday, March 8, 2004 at 1:00 p.m. Cremation entrusted to Hatley Memorial Gardens.

MacDonald, John Donald It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Don, well-loved husband, father, and grandfather.
Born November 1, 1924 in Kenora Ontario, Don passed away peacefully at the Cowichan District Hospital on March 4, 2004.
Don will be missed beyond measure by his wife, Freda Margaret (Maggie), his seven children, David, Robert, Mary, Margaret, Donald, Peter, and Angus, and his six grandchildren, Charlie, Heather, Geordie, Madeline, Gabrielle, and John.
Don grew up in Baddeck, Cape Breton, and received his education at St. Francis Xavier University (B.Sc.), Dalhousie University (pre-med.), and Pine Hill University (M. Divinity).
He served his professional life as a United Church minister in Sheet Harbour, N.S., Hartland, N.B., Westville, N.S., Kincardine, Ont., Goderich, Ont., Windsor, Ontario, and Ladner, B.C.
Don will be remembered by all who knew him as the kind, gentle and soft-spoken man with the sparkling blue eyes.
He was a generous, well-loved pastor with the gift of reaching and uniting his congregations, young and old.
His sermons were life lessons, bringing together religious teachings, philosophy, psychology, and politics.
Don loved the natural world, and in his leisure he enjoyed hunting, fishing, carpentry, small boat building, and canoeing. He worked for Oxfam and Miles for Millions.
Don will be missed beyond measure by his wife, Freda Margaret (Maggie), his seven children, David, Robert, Mary, Margaret, Donald, Peter, and Angus, and their partners, and his six grandchildren, Charlie, Heather, Geordie, Madeline, Gabrielle, and John.
The family wishes to acknowledge the tremendous love and support of the Cowichan Valley Caregivers and the circle group.
Thanks for his care and compassion to Dr. S. Faulkner, and for their kindess, the staff of the 2nd Floor of the Cowichan District Hospital.
A memorial service will be held to remember Don: Sunday March 7, 2004, Unity Church, 2231A McGarrigle Street, Nanaimo, B.C. 2pm.

NISHI--Kunio, born on September 3, 1923 in Steveston, B.C. passed away peacefull on February 16, 2004 surrounded by his loving family.
Kunio is survived by his wife of 51 years, Yoshiko (Betty), his sons Ken and David, and his daughters Gail (Glenn Hori) and Diane (Dennis Hori).
He also leaves to mourn his precious grandchildren, Karen Hori and Brayden Hori.
Private family service to be held at the Steveston Buddhist Temple.

Of Steveston, B.C. died peacefully at home on February 21, 2004. He was born on August 11, 1924.
Predeceased by his father Saeji, mother Kazuko, brother Etsuo, sister Aiko, and granddaughter Angelina.
He is survived by his devoted wife Setsuko and children Glenn (Dawna), Wendy (Peter), Nolan (Lynn), Steve (Karen), and Leane; brother Dick (Dorothy), sister Christina (Frank), and sister-in-law Blanche; grandchildren Nathan, Marissa and Emma; also many extended family members and friends.
Yoichi (Jim) along with his brother Etsuo (Wayne) were known for their fine craftsmanship on fishing boats built at Kishi Boat Works--Many that still can be seen along the West Coast.
A memorial service will be held Thursday February 26th at 7:00 p.m. at Steveston Buddhist Temple.
Cremation will be Friday February 27th at Vancouver Crematorium at 12:00 p.m.
Interment will be on Monday March 1, 11;00 a.m. at Ocean View Cemetery.
We would like to give our deepest thanks to Dr. Dan Ezekial for his support and care of Yoichi.
All who knew Dad will miss his deep love for family and friends.

Fondly remembered by her 13 grandchildren, her great-grandson and many nieces and nephews. Irene will be sadly missed by her family and friends.
