TEAROE - Walter. Passed away peacefully at home in North Vancouver, B.C. on April 13, 1999 at the age of 84. Survived by his loving and devoted wife Marjorie; and only son Paul (Maureen); grandchildren David (Colleen) and Tammy; great-grandchildren Nicholas and Derrick; one brother Bud (West Van); and one sister Joy (London, Ontario); and many other relatives and friends. Walter was born in West Vancouver in 1914, was President-General Manager of the family business Tearoe & Sons Builder Supply & Construction Company for many years, served on West Vancouver Council for 17 consecutive years, and was a former member of the West Vancouver Kinsmen Club. No memorial service will be held at Walter's request. Flowers gratefully declined, donations to the Lions Gate Hospital would be gratefully appreciated.

ARCHIBALD - Sybile. Passed away on March 28, 1999 after a long battle with cancer. She was loved by all those whose lives she touched and will be sadly missed. A celebration of her life will be held at her daughters on April 11, 1999 at 2:00 p.m.

CORNER - Charles Daniel. October 8, 1922 - April 1, 1999. Survived by his loving wife Agnes of 49 years; son Mark (Cathy); daughters Laura (Craig), Diana (Dave); grandchildren Alexandra, Scott, Theresa, Crystal. Also survived by his loving sisters Marion (Bill) and Dorthea (Errol) and sister-in-law Julia and their families. Charles retired in 1984 after 36 years with CNCP Communications. He was a RCAF Veteran serving 4 years overseas in WWII. A private family service will be held.

DAVIS - James Gilbert (Gib). Passed away peacefully, on April 3, 1999 at Vancouver General Hospital, of complications from cancer which he had bravely endured for many years. Gib was predeceased by his father Harold. He is survived by his mother Ellen Davis, brothers Harold, Hugh, and sister Alice Davis. He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 46 years, Vi; his daughter Sandra and her children Caroline and Joshua; son Scott; close family friend Kim Robinson; and many other relatives and friends. Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, 1999 at St. Chris-topher's Anglican Church, 11th Street at Inglewood Avenue, West Vancouver, B.C. FETTERLEY - Gayle Patricia. Born March 30, 1952, was taken suddenly on April 5, 1999. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband Tom; children Shawn (Kristen), Ryan (Hollis) and Jesse; her parents Harold and Dorothy Minkley; mother-in-law Mary Fetterley; sister Linda (Emery) and family; sister-in-law Kay (Ernie) and family; Aunt Barbara; and special friend Blake; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. She was predeceased by her father-in-law Thomas Fetterley, sister-in-law Judith, Uncle Ron, and grandparents. A memorial service will be held at Hollyburn Funeral Home, 1807 Marine Drive, West Vancouver on Friday, April 9, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the West Vancouver Soccer Club in her name.

SIKICH - Matthew John. Born October 29, 1930. Passed away April 2, 1999 after a long and valiant battle against cancer and other complications. Predeceased by his father Louis in 1975 and mother Milka in 1991. Survived by his wife Dana; his children Brent (Brenda), Linda (Tim Heintzman), Richard (Grace); grandson Colin; brother Bill (Eleanor); and by many relatives and close friends. Matt was owner and founder of Hytac and Westec Equipment. Innovator of deck machinery and hydraulic systems used in commercial marine and fishing industries worldwide. A special thanks to Dr. Barrie Woodhurst for his compassion and care, the staff on East 5 at Vancouver General Hospital, Dr. Peter Schwarz and Dr. Paul Klimo at Lions Gate Hospital. The palliative care team at Lions Gate Hospital who were so wonderful to us. A special thanks to our Auntie Sheila, we couldn't have gone through this without your help. CROMPTON - William Frank. Born at North Vancouver, B.C. on November 10, 1936. Passed away on March 30, 1999 at the Lions Gate Hospital, North Vancouver, B.C., after a brief illness. Mr. Crompton was an employee of B.C. Rail for 40 years. Predeceased by his mother Molly in 1996, step-father Ed, brother Jackie and father Jack. Survived by his wife Delores; daughters Shelley (Russ), Terri (Herb), Colleen; grandchildren Jason, Dean, Lance, Alyssa, Tianna, Tamara and Nevada; extended family of five children and seven grandchildren; aunts Blanche, Jean and Joan; uncle Ron; as well as other relatives and friends. A graveside service will be held on Friday, April 9, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. in the North Vancouver City Cemetery, located on Lillooet Rd., just north of Capilano College. THORPE - Doris. Passed away April 7, 1999. Born in Hastings, Sussex, England in 1915. Resided in North Vancouver since 1948. Predeceased by brother Jack and husband Ernest. ABRAHAM - Anna Elisabeth. Born July 31, 1935 in Riga, Latvia. Passed away at home surrounded by loving family on April 7, 1999. Anne's greatest and simplest lesson to all of us is that we should, as she did, just open our hearts and our doors to anyone that comes our way and truly believe in their goodness. We will miss her and keep her spirit with us; husband of 43 years, Fred; children Liz (Sander), Marianne (Glenn), Tom (Fiona), Percy (Corinne); grandchildren Robin, Marlies, Ellie, Mitchell; and a multitude of dear friends. WALTON - John Selwyn of Oliver, B.C. Born in Vancouver, 1925. Passed away in Summerland Hospital, April 4, 1999. Survived by one son Jimmy (Connie) of Oliver, two grandchildren Crystal and Justin. Also survived by brothers Richard (Dorothy) of Kamloops, Jimmy (Lillian) of Richmond; sisters Betty Robinson, Burnaby, Elaine Sorgatz (Guenther) Cloverdale, Joyce Deans Barrhead, Alberta. TAYLOR - Tom. Passed away in Vernon, B.C., April 4, 1999 in his 75th year. He leaves to mourn his beloved only son Packy; his daughter Cammie; his 3 step-daughters Wendy, Mary-Gail and Heather (Cleveland); Julie (Dave) Kennedy; and many friends from the North Shore to Northern B.C. Dad was a free-spirited man full of laughter and compassion. His love for the open road was surpassed only by the love he had for his dogs. God Bless you Dad, we'll miss you forever. ALLAN - William Temple. Passed away peacefully Sunday, March 28, 1999, in Lions Gate Hospital in North Vancouver, after a lengthy illness. Bill was born in Vancouver, March 7, 1930 and is survived by his loving wife Elaine; his daughter April Buchanan of Edmonton; son Mark Allan of Vancouver; grandchildren Douglas Buchanan and Kristian Allan; a brother John D. Allan (Marge) of Mississauga, Ontario; a sister Mary T. Eckersley (Bill) of Victoria, BC; sister-in-law F. Christine Allan of North Vancouver; loving nephews, nieces and grandnephews and nieces. Bill will be lovingly remembered by his cousins Barbara Allan of Seattle, Washington and Sandra Allan of Harrow, England and other family members in Scotland.
Bill was employed for many years in the moving and seafood industries in Vancouver. A talented percussionist, he played with several dance bands over the years and as a young man was a drummer with the Sea-forth Highlander Cadets and the Boy's Brigade organization at St. Helen's Anglican Church.
The family would like to thank the staff of the Lions Gate Hospital for their outstanding care during Bill's illness. A Memorial Service in celebration of his life will be held at St. Catherine's Anglican Church, 1058 Ridgewood Ave., North Vancouver on Saturday, April 3, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the S.P.C.A, the Intensive Care Unit at Lions Gate Hospital and the B.C. Lung Association.

The last of the children of Elizabeth and William Balden, pre-deceased by his brothers Samuel Richard, Robert, Edward Wrayburn, John David and Philip Tristram, and sister Sarah (Grisdale).
Survived by the families of Bob, Wray, David, Phil and Sarah.

BELLAMY - Violet Ellenora. Loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on March 27, 1999 in her 96th year at Westside Care Centre in West-bank, B.C. Violet was predeceased by her loving husband Charles (1986), and is suvived by her son Peter Bellamy (Grace) of West Vancouver, B.C., daughter Barbara Wiltshire (Bob) of Peachland, B.C., five grandchildren: Greig, Shelly, Shirley-Ann, Michael and Cindy, and 13 great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Wednesday, March 31, 1999 at 1:00 p.m. at First Memorial Funeral Services, 1211 Sutherland Avenue, Kelowna, B.C. The family would like to extend a warm thank-you to all the staff at Westside Care Centre who cared for Violet especially during her remaining days. CRAWFORD - Margaret Mary. Passed away suddenly on March 28, 1999 at Lions Gate Hsopital. Predeceased by her husband Gordon and brothers Bruce and Nelson. Survived by daughter Kathleen (Kevin) Ward, son Bill (Bonny) and grandson Stephen Crawford. Margaret will be sorely missed by her special friend Arthur Alfred, as well as many other relatives and friends. LOCHHEAD - Margaret McIntosh Hart. Peacefully at Inglewood Care Centre, West Vancouver, B.C. on Sunday, March 28, 1999 in her 92nd year after a life of fun and travel. For 53 years wife of the late John Lochhead and dearly loved mother of Graham Lochhead and wife Karen of Aylmer, Quebec and Joan Rigg and husband Ian of West Vancouver, B.C. Beloved grandmother of Colin, David, and John Lochhead and Cathy and Janet Rigg. Predeceased by sisters Isobel, Rebecca, Sarah and Mary and brothers David and Godfrey. "Bunty" immigrated to West Vancouver from Scotland in her 80th year after her husband "Jack" died, and in the decade following enjoyed several trips to Australia and back to Scotland, and had a wonderful zest for life. Her warm and ready smile will be greatly missed by her family and fond friends. A private family celebration of her life will be held on Sunday, April 11, 1999 at her daughter Joan's home.

NOAKES - Kenneth Eric. Born in Victoria on January 16, 1916. Passed away in Lions Gate Hospital on March 27, 1999. Predeceased by his wife Betty. He is survived by his daughter Joy Gornall; sons Ronald (Terrie) and David; grandchildren Sandy, Shelley, Andrea, Kyle and Curtis; and brothers and sisters. Private funeral arrangements.

BORRADAILE - Osmond Hudson (OC). July 17, 1898 - March 23, 1999. "Bordie" specialized in exterior cinematography for Paramount Studios, London Films, the National Film Board, etc. Directing location footage for films as: Sanders of the River, Elephant Boy, Four Feathers, The Drum, Thief of Baghdad, The Overlanders, Scott of the Antartic. He was instrumental in the development of B.C.'s fledging film industry. He served in both World Wars receiving France's Legion of Honour for W.W I. He was named to the Order of Canada in recognition of his life's work. Predeceased in 1995 by Christiane his wife of 64 years. Survived by his children Anita (Michael), Lilla (Carl), George (Susie); his grandchildren Pauline (Bernie), David, Michele (Robert), Norman, Nadine, Brodie, Tyler, Paul; his great-grandchildren Tess, Madison, Luke. At Bordie's request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers donations to the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation would be appreciated.

McBRIDE - Bertha Mae (Edgar). Born in Prince Rupert, March 5, 1929. Passed away in Lions Gate Hospital, North Vancouver on March 27, 1999 after a long, courageous fight against diabetes. A wonderful, warm, loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Predeceased by her parents Bill and Mae, brother Sonny and sister Lorraine. Bert is lovingly remembered by her husband Bill of 51 years, devoted children Sue (Glenn), Chris (Shirley), Danny (Kathleen) and Diane (Warren); grandchildren Len, Jim, Jason, Tracy, Clint, Jamie, Trevor, Lucas, Danika, Natalie, Ben, Dylan, Karly, Lara and Hailey; great-grandchildren Sarah, Jake, Levi, Rielly, Tristin, Travis, Brandon, Kassidy, Johnny, Jessica. Also sadly missed by brothers Chuck (Joanne), Kenny (Nancy) and sisters Viola, Louella (Frank) and Helen and her many dear friends and extended family. McMURRAY - Margaret. Born August 15, 1922 in Scotland. Passed away March 24, 1999 in Lions Gate Hospital. Survived by loving husband of 54 years, Bernard; daughter Catherine; son James (Sandra); granddaughters Yvonne (Brian), Karen and Paula; great-grandsons Cameron and Braeden; brothers James and Bruce. Heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff who cared for her in Palliative Care. Memorial service was held Monday, March 29, 1999 in North Vancouver. PARTRIDGE - James Lloyd. Passed away suddenly on March 30, 1999, at the age of 78, while working as a performer on a film set. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Ruby; his sister Maureen in England; and his brother Noel of Huntsville, Ontario; his children, son James Robert (Lynda), son Peter William (Sandra), son Gordon Thomas (Wendy) and daughter Patricia Maureen Ricketts (Wayne). "Poppa" will also be deeply missed by his grandchildren Lisa, Deanna, Michelle, Braden, Jillian and Andrew, and his manuy nieces and nephews. The entire extended Partridge family and Jim's multitude of friends know his life was one to be celebrated as exceptional; a talented son, an airman, a cook extraordinaire, a writer, an actor, a nature-lover, an executive, a stargazer, birdwatcher, gardener - but most of all a warm, happy husband and as he referred to himself, "D.O.S.O.D. a dear old sweet old Dad". A memorial service will be held Wednesday, April 7, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. at Mount Seymour United Church, 1200 Parkgate Avenue (off Mount Seymour Parkway) in North Vancouver. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

PRICE - Hilda June. Went home peacefully to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 30, 1999 in North Vancouver. Born June 25, 1930 in Edmonton, Alberta, June is survived by her loving, devoted husband Desmond, and five children: Bonnie (John), Jim (Carol), Sharon (Glen), David (Gina), Peter (Lori); and twelve grandchildren: Lisa, Andrea, Lora-Lee, Christopher, Michelle, Heather, Daniel, Peter, Kathleen, Adam, Davina, Andrew. June will be remembered for her kindness and compassion for others, a gentle spirit full of love, joy, peace, patience and goodness. We know June is happily tending her heavenly garden of roses.
