DOVE - (Pearl) Margaret Gordon Bailie (nee Russell) age 84. Passed away suddenly at home in West Vancouver on October 31, 1999. Survived by her loving husband Archie Dove. Beloved mother of daughter Barbara (Lawrie) Groundwater and their children Gordon and Alison and her husband Keith Punter; and son Robert (Joan) and their children Michael, Barbara and Jeffrey; and sister Elizabeth Smigelski. Predeceased by her first husband Ralph Davis (1961), father Robert Russell Sr. (1963) of Britannia Beach, B.C. and brother Robert Jr. and sister-in-law Elaine. Pearl was born in Vancouver on January 9, 1915. She spent her youth in Britannia Beach followed by more happy years in Victoria, Vancouver and Gibsons. A memorial service will take place at St. Andrew's and St Stephen's Presbyterian Church, 2641 Chesterfield Ave, North Vancouver at 2:00 p.m on Saturday, November 13, 1999. She will be sadly missed. MELLIN - Peter Ralph. Born August 29, 1948. Died suddenly October 29, 1999 of complications following surgery. Peter touched many lives with his kind gentle manner, humour, wit and unfailing generosity. He loved fishing, sailing and was renowned by all who knew him for his superb culinary skills. Peter was a devoted husband and father. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Dierdre, his soul mate for 26 years; his three precious children Kirsten, Berkeley and Bailey; as well as sister Ann; brother Robert; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Deborah and William Ferguson, Renate and Donald Bush, Pat Kaine, Stuart Isbister; father-in-law Don Bush; many nieces and nephews Morgan and Patrick Ferguson, Alan, Penny and Shane Erickson, Sean and Lars Kaine, Teresa McNee, Kaley and Regan Isbister, Caitlin and Silas Poole; and his many friends. Peter was predeceased by his daughter Alysa Kirby, his sister Joan Kaine and his parents Laila and Lars. Evelyn is predeceased by her husband Vance in 1978, and daughter Doris McPherson in 1994. DRUMMOND - Anna M. Passed away peacefully at Lions Gate Hospital, October 21, 1999. Born in Burns Lake, B.C. to George and Debora Lindstrom. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Anna was a long time employee at Lions Gate Hospital. Survivors are her sister Mrs Eva McKinnon of Eugene, Oregon, step son Robert Rice and wife Yvonne, their children Jennifer and Ian of Surrey, B.C. PROCHNICKI - Evelyn Mae. Born August 24, 1926, 73 years. On October 19, 1999 our loving mother went to join her husband, Nicholas, in heaven whom had been waiting for her since August 23, 1999. SAYLE - Irene Peggy. Passed away on Friday October 22, 1999. Born in Shanghai China on May 18, 1913. Peggy was the eldest of seven siblings to whom she was always loyal and extremely helpful. During WWII from 1941 to 1945 members of the Sayle family were interned in the Lungwha Camp. Afterwards they emmigrated to Canada and settled in Vancouver in 1946. For many years Peggy worked for the Ceremonies department at UBC where she was responsible for organizing all official functions and she retired in 1978. Peggy is survived by one brother Gordon, numerous nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces and one great-grand niece. She has always been a loving and devoted aunt and has taken great interest in all the Sayle children. Peggy will always be lovingly remembered and greatly missed by all her family and friends. Memorial services will be held in St. Francis in The Wood Church located at 4773 Piccadilly South, West Vancouver on Thursday November 4, 1999 at 1:30 p.m. Refreshments will be served after the service. Donations may be made to the Lions Gate Hospital Foundation in lieu of flowers.
