CURRIE - Leanna Carol, born December 27, 1951, passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness in Surrey Memorial Hospital. A wonderful mother, she will be sadly missed by daughters Allison and Meghan, son Steven, and husband John. She also leaves to mourn sisters Debra and Joanne; brother Grant; and mother Muriel Fisher. Special thanks to the nurses at SMH Palliative Care for all their loving care and support. DE CASTELL - MJ (Margaret Julia) (nee Taylor). On May 14th, 2002, passed on peacefully at the Brock Fahrni Pavilion, St. Vincent's Hospital in Vancouver, in her 79th year. Beloved wife of the late Gustave. Very dear mother of Peter, Suzanne, John (Terry Lanthier), Christopher, Sebastien (Christina Zeller), and the late Adrien. EMERY - passed away peacefully on March 5, 2002, Arnold W. Emery, M.D., aged 67 years, of Richmond, B.C. Arnie is survived by his loving family: his partner, Robin; daughters, Christine (Mark), Delta and Jennie (Rob), Richmond; son, Michael (Lorraine), Delta; their mother, Roberta, Richmond; granddaughters, Elizabeth and Alexandra, and other loving family and friends. As an accomplished trumpet player, Arnie was an active member of the Kitsilano Boys Band, the RCAF Band, B.C. Lions Band, Delta Band and RCL Branch 5 Band (Richmond). Dr. Emery was a dedicated family practitioner for many years in Richmond. Arnie was also an avid race car enthusiast as a driver and member of the Sports Car Club of B.C. and was the Medical Director of the ICSCC. GOUGEON - Alfhild Inga (Allie) (nee Burquist). It is with great sadness and yet with resounding joy, that we announce that Alfie has gone on her final journey to meet her Lord and Savior. Allie passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 22, 2002, at Peace Arch Hospital, White Rock, B.C. She was predeceased by her husband, Ernest Joseph, in 1981. Allie was born in Waubay, South Dakota, USA, in 1908 and immigrated with her parents in 1910 to Carsland, Alberta, where she resided until her marriage to Ernie. They worked and lived in Carsland, Bassano, and Dunnville, Ontario, Calgary, Olds, and Red Deer, Alberta, and retired in White Rock, B.C., in 1969. Allie is survived by her most loving family, 3 daughters, Doreen (Harold) Cowan of Calgary, Donna (Alvin) Myhre of White Rock, Barbara (Bob) Bayne of Edmonton; 12 grandchildren, Shelley Sanford, Rob McJunkin, Steve McJunkin, Nancy Long, Kathy Schuler, Marilyn Lewchuk, Bryan Myher, Carol Macdonald, Heather Myhre, Steven Bayne, Karen Bayne, Teresa Bayne; 2 step-grandchildren, Kelly Cowan, Sandra Foran; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren and brothers, Earl (Phoebe) Bergquist, Arthur (Berta) Bergquist; sister, Gladys (Crawford - deceased) McClelland; 6 nieces and 1 nephew. Allie's life was a shining example of a faithful loving servant of the Lord. While God has taken her home, He is also sending a new little great-grandchild into the family fold. Praise God! Heartfelt thanks to Dr. Deemsted and Dr. Brown, the hospital staff on the second floor and the Palliative Care floor, who gave such kind and loving care. KARKLING - Lenore passed away May 23, 2002, at Surrey Memorial Hospital. After 81 years on this earth, she soon followed Paul, her husband of 61 years. Born February 6, 1921, at Pointe Du Boise Manitoba, into the Canadian pioneer family of Howard Bill Williams and Maude (Holliday) Williams. Predeceased by 2 brothers, Howard and Russell; survived by brother, Bill; 3 sons, Richard, Michael and Gil; grandchildren, Dean, Morgan and Kim; 3 great-granddaughters, Miranda, Jodie and Andrea, and several nieces and nephews. A fiercely protective mother, caring and supporting all her family; especially all the foibles and adventures of the 3 sons. She quickly and easily gave of herself and talents to her friends and many people she knew, never letting any personal ache or pain slow her, or be seen by anyone else. This world is an emptier place now without her, and she will be sorely missed by many.

She is predeceased by her father, Clarence Kilbach and survived by her mother, Kathleen Kilbach.
