Martin John Burant
On September 4, 2002, Martin John of Kamloops, B.C., passed away peacefully at the age of 82 and went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Martin was born in Otthon, Saskatchewan on August 11, 1920. He will be dearly missed by his loving wife, Anne; daughter, Dianne (Bob) Gasper; sons, Ronald, Roger (Norlean), and Russell (Laurel), and his grandchildren, Melissa and Sydney. Martin was a veteran of WW II. After the war was over, he was employed by Canada Post in Regina, Saskatchewan. until he retired in 1981. During retirement his passion in life was being a spectator of all sports, especially his beloved Saskatchewan Roughriders, as he was a season ticket holder for many years. In 1987, with his loving wife Anne, they retired to Kamloops, B.C. He will always be remembered for his gentleness and his love of family and his Lord. A memorial service will be held at Bible Truth Fellowship, at the corner of 8th and Sherbrooke in Kamloops on Tuesday, September 10, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Andrew Picklyk will officiate.
Bob Darrah
DARRAH - Bob, of Christina, born June 21, 1927, in Fort Frances, Ontario, passed on at the Boundary Hospital, Grand Forks, with his family at his side on September 28, 2002.
Bob was very active. Enjoying golf and curling games (and beer) with his buddies, and a healthy lifestyle that included many walks up McRae Creek Road. His most special times were with his family.
Lovingly remembered by his children, Rob, Gord and Shannon; mother of his children and friend, Jerry. Also survived by his siblings, Mae (Mel), Violet and Tom (Doris), as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his brother Ab (surviving wife, Rosella).
A Celebration of Bob's Life will be held at the Christina Lake Community Hall on Wednesday, October 2, 2002, at 2:00 P.M. Donations to the Boundary Community Hospice, 2320 - 78th Avenue, Grand Forks, B.C., V0H 1H2, or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. EDMOND - Carl Mark, passed away tragically on August 10, 2002, at the age of 19 years. Carl is survived by his parents; brothers, Christian and Julian; grandparents, and many relatives and friends. Frederick (Fred) Edward Jones
JONES - Frederick (Fred) Edward. It is with sadness we announce the sudden passing of Fred into the arms of God. Born in Drumheller, Alberta, on January 20, 1945, Fred passed away on Friday, October 4, 2002, at Langley Memorial Hospital. Survived by his loving family: Margaret, his devoted wife of 36 years; sons, Jeffrey (Yuki) of Japan, Paul (Lorraine) and his only grandchild, Mathew, of South Surrey, and Bryan (Stacey) of White Rock; his only sister, Betty MacMurchy of New Westminster; his mother-in-law, Vi Trickey; sister-in-law, Dorothy Farber of Winnipeg; brother-in-law, John Trickey of Saskatchewan; several Aunts; 1 Uncle; cousins; nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, October 16, 2002, at Christian Life Assembly, 21277 - 56th Avenue, Langley, B.C. Pastor Don Cantalon, Officiating. Sylvia Valerie Griffith
GRIFFITH - Sylvia Valerie, passed away peacefully on September 13, 2002, at her home in Abbotsford, at the age of 60. She is survived by her mother, Alvina; brother, Rodney; sister, Jodi; children, Leanne (Shaun), Mike (Jamie), Maria (Jim) and Ryan (Tara), and grandchildren, Tyson and Keira. Sylvia dedicated her life's work to the John Howard Society. Prayers at 7:30 P.M., Thursday, September 19, 2002, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 1:00 P.M., Friday, September 20, 2002, at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 33333 Mayfair Avenue, Abbotsford. Margaret Isabel Leschiutta
LESCHIUTTA (nee Ling) - Margaret Isabel, died peacefully on September 20, 2002, surrounded by her family. Born on January 24, 1914, in Stellarton, Nova Scotia, Margaret moved with her family to Balfour, B.C., in 1920. In 1935, she went to work in Trail and soon after she met and married Ernie Leschiutta. On August 8, 1937, the two of them began their lives together and have just recently celebrated their 65th Wedding Anniversary.
Margaret led a very active lifestyle and she had a contagious laugh and smile. She loved to play cards and bingo, she was an avid bowler for many years and she recently started doing some ceramics. She is also a charter member of the Eagles Auxiliary, 2838, and was a member of the Ladies Drill Team for many years.
She and Ernie spent many happy years at their Willow Beach trailer at Christina Lake. Friends and family always surrounded her and if you wanted to see Marg, just find the closest card game. The couple also took frequent bus trips to Reno with their friends.
Our dear mother, grandmother and aunt has now made her journey to heaven to be with her parents, Alexander and Anna May; her brothers, John, Bill, Lawrence and Harry; and her sisters, Isabel and Ethel. Gramma will also be lovingly remembered by those she left behind: her husband, Ernie; her daughter and best friend, Darlene and husband, Leo Soligo; grandchildren, Leanne, Darryl (fiancée Aleta and her daughter Shylo), and Melissa; her much loved son, Dale; and grandson, David, and three great-grand dogs. She is also loved and missed by her sisters, Betty Olson of Kaslo, Mary (Bill) Vickers of Rossland and Doreen Wright of Cranbrook. Margaret is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews who will miss her.
We love you Gramma and you will be forever in our hearts.
Father Bart van Roijen will celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, September 25, 2002, at 11:00 a.m., at OLPH. Immediately following the Service will be the burial at Mountain View Cemetery.

Jesse David Lee
LEE - Jesse David, of Boulder Creek, B.C., born April 12, 1990 in Trail, passed away accidentally on Monday, September 9, 2002, at the age of 12.
Survived by his parents, Ron and Ronda; siblings, Cody and Jessica of Boulder Creek, B.C., and Richard and David of Prince George, B.C. Also left are his grandparents, David and Myrna Welzbacher of Grand Prairie, Alberta, and his uncle, Darcy Welzbacher of Calgary, Alberta.

Kathleen (Kay) Jean McCullough
McCULLOUGH - Kathleen Jean, passed away at the Mater Misericordiae Health Care Facility on September 11, 2002.
Kay was born in London, England on March 28, 1918, and has resided in the Trail area since 1948. Kay met and married her beloved husband, Ken, in England during the Second World War. Kay will always be remembered for her true sense of family, Christmas dinners, her special sausage rolls, her beautiful knitting and the grandchildren's sleep-overs and camp-outs.
Survived by her two daughters, Gayle (Reg) Conway of Fruitvale, and Donna (James) Ross of Blueberry Creek. She is also survived by her six grandchildren: Shawn (Krista), Kevin (Tawnya), Corey (Kailee), Curt (Tracee), Jeremy (Anna) and Drew, and nine great-grandchildren, Vanessa, Marissa, Jarret, Ashlyn, Nicole, Mitchell, Kaylee, Ryan, and Brady.
She is predeceased by her husband, Ken; her parents, Donald and Emily Stewart and her brother, Don.
The Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, September 17, 2002, at 11:00 A.M. in St. John's Anglican Church in Fruitvale, with Reverend Garwood Russell officiating, and with burial following in the Fruitvale Memorial Cemetery.

Ida Francis Saundry (nee Kent)
SAUNDRY - Ida Francis (nee Kent), born November 21, 1916, in Rossland, died suddenly at Trail Regional Hospital on September 27, 2002.
Her family moved to Kimberley in 1929, where she completed High School and she returned to Rossland in 1953.
Ida was active in the Hospital and Eagle's Auxiliaries, as well as Scout Mothers, Rossland Senior's Association, United Church Units and Birthday Club. She enjoyed gardening, baking, playing bridge and bingo.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of 63 years, Ross; children, Marguerite Stegelmeier (Fred) of Charlie Lake; Ross (Millicent) of Rossland and Tom (Mary) of Coquitlam; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister-in-law Marg Kent and nieces.
Ida's parents and brother George predeceased her.
Funeral Service will be conducted by Rev. Kent Israel and Rev. Shelley Stickel-Miles on Tuesday, October 1, 2002, at 11:00 a.m., at St. Andrews United Church, Rossland, with interment following at Mountain View Cemetery.
