Art Krentz, age 86, passed away Friday May 27, 2011. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife Evelyn (Grienke) of 59 years. He is also survived by his children: Brian, Kurtis (Jennifer), Sheldon (Hélène), Bradley and their families. He was predeceased by one son and one sister.
Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel in Steinbach on Monday, May 30 at 7:00 with devotional at 8:00 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at the St Paul Lutheran Church, 465 Henry, Steinbach on Tuesday, May 31 at 2:00 p.m. with viewing prior to the service. Interment at the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery, Hwy #12 S.

Peter peacefully passed away on May 26th, 2011 at the Vita Hospital with his wife Rose, brother John and his friend Al Humphreys by his side.
Prayers were said at Vita Funeral Home on May 30th, 2011 at 7:00pm. Peter’s funeral service was held at Holy Trinity Ukrainian Orthodox Church Vita, Manitoba on May 31st ,2011 at 10:00am. Interment took place in St Nicholas Cemetery Arbakka, Manitoba.
The family would like to thank Al Humphreys, Pat Coffield, the Nurses and the Doctor’s at the Vita Hospital for the care they provided for Peter.

With great sadness we announce the passing of our mother on May 17, 2011 at the age of 96 years. She was born and raised in La Broquerie, MB.
She was predeceased by her husband Tony and one daughter Rosie. She leaves to mourn her passing one daughter Bertha (Paul) and two sons Walter (Joanne) of Ohio and Frank (Lee); seven grandchildren and great grandchildren.
As per Mom’s request, cremation has taken place. May Mom rest in peace.

Mary Baker, 88 years of age, of Calgary, AB, formerly of Selkirk, MB, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, May 17, 2011 at the Southwood Hospice, Calgary, AB with the family at her bedside.
She is survived by 11 children: William Verestiuk of Selkirk, MB, Mary-Anne Martens of Calgary, AB, Olga (Nick) Varkerti of Wpg. MB, Rose (Frank) Palahnuk of Wpg. MB., Peter Verestiuk of Selkirk, MB, Johnny Verestiuk of Prince Albert, SK, Patsy Pelletier of Calgary, AB, Joannie (Paul) Still of Petersfield, MB, Richard Werestiuk of Calgary, AB, Sally (Peter) Poels of Wpg. MB and Michael Shoren of Kelowna, BC. She is also survived by her sister, Rose Valainis of Wpg. MB.
She is predeceased by her parents, a son in 1958, her daughter, Jean Verestiuk in 2010, her late husband, Peter Verestiuk in 1986, her second husband, Al Baker in 1995, her sisters and brothers Anne, Lena, John, Sam, Harry and Peter.
There will be a viewing on May 23, 2011 from 7:00 to 8:00 P.M. at Gilbart Funeral Home located at 309 Eveline Street in Selkirk, MB. Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, May 24, 2011 at Gilbart Funeral Home in Selkirk, MB at 12:00 with viewing at 11:00 A.M. Reception will follow from 1:00 – 2:30 P.M. at Royal Canadian Legion, 409 Eveline Street, Selkirk, MB Internment will follow the lunch in the Green Acres Cemetery – #1 Hwy. East at 1 Green Acres Lane at 3:00 P.M.

Surrounded by family, Helen Ottawa-Froese passed away peacefully on Monday, May 16, 2011 at the Vita Personal Care Home at the age of 81 years.
A prolific knitter, there are many Afghans across Canada that will keep her memory alive.
Sincerest thanks to Nick, her partner of 21 years, the staff at the Vita Personal Care Home and Dr. Andrew Cooke.
In keeping with mom’s wishes cremation has taken place and there will be no formal service.

Marguerite passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Monday, May 16, 2011 at Le Repos Jolly in St. Pierre, MB.
Marguerite is survived by her husband Omer, her children Gilbert (Micheline), Maurice (Esther), Edmond (Angele), Roger (Dianne), Denis (Alice), Louis (Diane), Diane (Ed), grandchildren, great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and extended family. She is predeceased by her father ZephirinDesharnais, mother Adrienne Desharnais, grandson Adam Poirier, and granddaughter Elisia Block.

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Phil at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, Manitoba on Friday, May 13, 2011 at the age of 70 years.
He was predeceased by his father Edouard, mother Emma, brother Denis and niece Lynne Gobeil-Gawron.
Phil is lovingly remembered by his sisters Thérèse (Robert) and Yvonne (John), brothers Lucien (Monique) and Emile (Donna), as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives, neighbours and friends.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 21, at St. Viateur Parish in Otterburne, Manitoba. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery.
