BEN REMPEL
Ben Rempel, age 77, passed away March 19, 2012 at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, Manitoba.
Dad was born July 1, 1934, to Willy and Helena Rempel. At 23, Dad was baptized upon confession of his faith in Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Saviour. He married Anna Friesen on March 25, 1958, in Paraguay, SA., and they were blessed with eight children.
Dad is survived by his children: Ruth (Cornie) Toews, Edna (Andy) Friesen, Jakie (Neta), Helena (Henry) Friesen, Priscilla (David) Enns, Hulda (Willy) Goertzen, Bill (Lorie), and Raynold (Vikki). He is also survived by 32 grandchildren – 19 in Paraguay, and 13 in Canada, and seven great-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his wife Anna in 2008, his parents, and one grandchild Isaiah Rempel.
An evening service will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel on Friday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held Saturday, March 24 at 11:00 a.m. at the Steinbach Sommerfeld Church, 420 Hespeler St. S. in Steinbach with interment at the New Bothwell Sommerfeld Church Cemetery.

JACOB SAWATZKY
With his family at his side, Jake passed away at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach to be with his Heavenly Father. He was 84.
Jake is survived by his wife Irene (nee Penner) of 57 years; Marilyn (Rudi); Myrna; Lori (Earl); Don; Randy Mark (Sandra) and their families including 12 grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held Monday, March 26 at 2:00 p.m. at the Steinbach Mennonite Church, 345 Loewen Blvd, in Steinbach. Private family interment at Heritage Cemetery.

LILLIAN DALE
Lillian Dale of Dauphin, Manitoba, passed away suddenly at her home, on Thursday, March 22, 2012, at the age of 84 years.
Lillian was predeceased by her loving husband, Bruce Dale, in 2003, and her son, Ralph Gerbrandt, in 2006.
Lillian is survived by her children, Bev and husband Lynn McDonald, Garry and wife Julie, Ron and wife Jennifer, and her youngest son David. Lil also leaves behind to cherish fond memories, her thirteen loving grandchildren, and two loving great grandchildren.
Viewing and Visitation will be held on Monday, March 26, 2012, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., from the Grace Bible Church in Dauphin, Manitoba, with the Funeral Service immediately following at 1:00 p.m. Interment will follow in the Dauphin Riverside Cemetery.

JUSTINA GREEN
Justina Green (nee Wiebe) of Steinbach, formerly of Vancouver, BC passed away at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach on Friday, March 23 at the age of 94 years.
She is survived by three sisters, one brother and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph.
The funeral service will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with viewing prior to the service. Interment at New Bothwell Sommerfeld Mennonite Church.

MARIE-LOUISE BOILY (nee Decelles)
Peacefully, surrounded by love and with family at her side, Marie-Louise passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Villa Youville, at the age of 94.
She is survived by her children Solange (Gérard) Bissonnette, Antoinette (Jean Paul) Bissonnette, Benoît (Jeanne Faucher), Daniel (Tannis Bowman), Gilbert, Marthe (Roger) Stupack, Fernand (Dianne Courcelles), Lorraine (Alan Stevenson), Claire (Adrien Grenier), Rolande (Aurèle Durand), son-in-law Fernand Gauthier, 48 grandchildren, 57 great-grandchildren, one sister Olive Decelles and one sister-in-law, Fabiana Boily.
She was predeceased by two daughters, Simone Fiola and Alice Gauthier; two sons-in-law, Aimé Fiola and Adrien Hudon; and one grand-daughter, Jocelyne Grenier.
Prayers will take place at 1:30 pm, followed by Mass of Ressurection at 2:00 pm on Saturday, March 31, 2012 at St. Joachim Roman Catholic Church in La Broquerie, with Father Camille Becho Doh presiding. Interment will follow immediately in the parish cemetery.

HELEN GIESBRECHT
Helen Giesbrecht is mother to five girls and their husbands, a grandmother, and a great-grandmother. Helen passed away on March 27th at 9:10 p.m. at Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, Manitoba at the age of 82 years.
Helen was born July 17th, 1929 in Dominion City, Manitoba, the 6th child out of 10 to Henry K. and Katherina Harms. She was predeceased by four siblings, and baptized in the Sommerfeld Church close to Stuartburn, Manitoba.
Helen Giesbrecht is survived by: daughter Marina and Allen Reimer, granddaughter Angela and Len Penner, great-grandchildren Isabella, Olivia, and Cooper, granddaughter Miranda and Garth Demitroiff, great-grandchildren Benjamin and Elijah, grandson Michael and Chantal, great-grandson Tyson, daughter Velma and Merv Reimer, granddaughter Tamara and Bob Perkinson, great-grandchildren Andrew and Austin, grandson Paul and Brigitte, great-grandchildren Nolan and Thaila, granddaughter Jolene and fiancé Darren Decook, daughter Pat and Jeff Todd, grandson Jason and Michele, granddaughter Krystal, great-granddaughter Nikita, grandson Blayne and Charissa, great-granddaughter Rory, grandson Nick and Amber, great-granddaughters Peyton and Ashlyn, grandson Adam and Melissa, daughter Lorna and Arnie Lehn, daughter LaVerna and Darren Wilk, granddaughters Bria and Madeleine, foster granddaughter Jennifer and Ben Auxier, and foster granddaughter Cassy. She is also survived by sister Marietta Harms of Winnipeg and brother Jim and Eva Harms of Altona as well as many nieces and nephews.
Helen was predeceased by her first husband Cornelius (Neil) Peters in May, 1953, her second husband Isaac J.H. Giesbrecht in January, 1979, and great-grandson Samuel James Reimer in February, 2009, her parents, and seven siblings.
The memorial service will be held Saturday, March 31st, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Emmanuel Evangelical Free Church.
ELIZABETH REGIER
At Rest Haven Nursing Home on Thursday, March 29, 2012, Elizabeth Regier, cherished mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, slipped gently into her loving heavenly Father’s presence. Left to remember their mother with pride and gratitude are her four children: Lorraine (Ernest Dueck), Wendy (Victor Warkentin), Eleanore (Anton Wagenhoffer) and Wayne. Also, lovingly remembering her are: 11 grandchildren: Byron Dueck, Jocelyn (Nathan Dyrud) & Valerie Dueck (Curtis Peters), Gwen McDonald, Marcia (Richard Payne) & Brad (Michelle) Warkentin, Karl (Shauna) Wagenhoffer, Eleana (Jerry Unrau) & David Wagenhoffer, Neil, Grant & their mother Karen Regier, 16 great grandchildren, one sister, Elma Leach, of Bloomington, MN and numerous nieces and nephews, one brother-in-law, Al Regier and four sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Regier, Elsie Wiebe, Helen Regier, and Lydia Regier.
Her husband, Jacob Arthur Regier, on Feb. 25, 1996, one grandson, Kevin Arthur Warkentin, and two great grandsons, Josiah David Payne and Finnegan Arthur D. Peters, predeceased Elizabeth Regier. Sixteen siblings, from a blended family of 18 that she said were “his, hers and theirs”, also predeceased her.
The funeral service is scheduled for Tuesday, April 3, 2012 at 2:00 pm Birchwood Funeral Chapel with interment at Heritage Cemetery, Steinbach. If desired, donations may be made to Haven Group (Rest Haven Nursing Home), 177 Woodhaven Avenue, Steinbach, MB R5G 1K7.

With family singing at her side, Mary (Penner) Wiens passed away on March 29, 2012 at the age of 92 years.
Mom is lovingly remembered by her children Alvin (Anne) Wiens, Carl (Lydia) Wiens, Leonard Wiens, Eric (Teresa) Wiens, Marian (Tim) Braun. 11 grandchildren Larisa (Tim), Nicole (Jonathon), Erica (Stefan), Josephine (Chad), Heidi, Tim (Roxanne), Tyler, Jordan, Travis, David, Corrin, seven great grandchildren Benjamin, Jonah, Samuel, Oliver, Lander, Katie, Tomas. She is also survived by two sisters Anne (George) Krahn and Erica Lepp, one brother Jake (Katie) Penner, two sisters-in-law Tina Penner and Lydia Penner. She was predeceased by her husband Jake Wiens in January 2007, her parents, her siblings John, Rudy and Marguerite, and brother-in-law Henry.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, April 3 at 11:00 a.m. at Steinbach Mennonite Church at 345 Loewen Blvd. with viewing before the service and with interment at Heritage Cemetery.

ANNE DUECK
Anne Dueck, nee Klassen, passed away peacefully on Friday March 30, 2012. She was predeceased by her husband Frank B. Dueck in June 1994, and her daughter Elvira in May 2008.
She is survived by sons Irwin (Marilyn) and Elmer (Christal); daughters Ruth (Gerald Thiessen), Dianne (Glenn Friesen), and Judy (Allan Friesen); and son-in-law Ben Dueck. She is also survived by 16 much loved grandchildren, Kevin, Myron (Tracey), Melissa (Jason), David, Jonathon, Marcia (Mark), Brent (Jacquie), Sherrilynn (Jared), Andrea (Corey), Scott (Stephanie), Derek (Liana), Mark (Ashley), Victoria (Curtis), Jeff (Amanda), Ashley (Brenden), and Sean; and her 9 great-grandchildren, Elijah, Sloane, Darius, Josiah, Ethan, Seth, Anna, Ellery, and Jackson.
The family wishes to thank the exceptional caring staff of the Morris Hospital and Red River Valley Lodge, who took such wonderful care of our mother over the past two years.

NICHOLAS WILLIAM ELLIOTT-FRIESEN
We have lost our beloved son and brother, Nick. On Friday, March 30, 2012 Nick ended his young life. He brought such joy to us during his short 20 years.
Nicholas is going to be so missed by his Dad, Mom and Sister – Trevor Friesen, Katherine Elliott and Natalie Elliott-Friesen. He also leaves his aunts and uncles, Lyle Friesen and Carol Weaver, Heather and Murray Fehler, Duayne and Bev Friesen and his cousins Myra, Tessa, Lee, Lauren and Eric. He will be sorely missed by his Auntie Sas – Sharon Simpson and his uncle Peter Simpson as well as his cousins David and Robb. He was loved by his honourary aunt and uncle, Deb and Paul Westacott, his cousins Laura and Lizzie and his Nana Doreen.
We invite you to honour Nick’s short life on Tuesday, April 3 from 7 – 9 p.m. at the GILCHRIST CHAPEL – McIntyre & Wilkie Funeral Home, One Delhi Street, Guelph; and a celebration of his life on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at 1.30 p.m. at the Guelph Youth Music Centre, 75 Cardigan Street, Guelph. HELEN NOVAK
It is with great sadness that the family of Helen Novak announces her sudden passing on Tuesday, Dec. 25, Christmas Day, at her residence in Sarto, MB at the age of 80 years.
Mom leaves to mourn her passing her children Irene (Walter) Yarema, Dennis (Steffie), Norman (Adine) and Roger; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and her sister Ludwina Rasmussen. She was predeceased by her husband Jake (Aug. 24, 1990), her six brothers, two sisters and her parents Mary and Julius Lischynski.
Mom took great pride in her yard work, flowers and her cooking. She loved to go shopping every chance she got and loved to be amongst people. She also enjoyed helping the ladies with cooking at Sarto Hall and at the church. She was a very dedicated member of the church. She was a sister for many years and had just retired from her duties this year in December. She enjoyed life to the fullest with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends. She was very fortunate not to be ill throughout her life.
Mom really enjoyed her 80th birthday party Sept. 16, 2007 where about 80 guests attended her celebration.
Funeral mass was held at St Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church in Sarto on Saturday, Dec. 29 officiated by Father Douglas LeClaire and Deacon Leon Twerdun. Interment in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers for the service were: Les Yarema, Brian Novak, Carl Lischynski, Bill Marynowski, Rob Mydaniuk, Brad Froese.
Donations may be made in honour of Mom to St Michael's Ukrainian Catholic Church — Women's Auxiliary.

ANTONIA (BLOCK) LUBKY
Antonia Lubky was born in Sarto, MB on the 19th of November, 1917 and passed away Friday, Dec. 21, 2007 in Kelowna, BC.
She attended Slawna School in Sarto. On completion of schooling, Antonia helped her parents on the family farm. She was active in local social functions.
During the war Antonia moved to Grande Point, MB with her parents and later to Winnipeg where she was employed as a seamstress. She took a designer course, which she enjoyed very much.
In 1965 Antonia married Steve Lubky and together they made their home in Brandon, MB. She continued with her designing and sewing, although mostly for special occasions, weddings, and graduations until retirement. As well, she was active in church functions in support of her church.
In 1985 Antonia and Steve moved to Kelowna and a warmer climate. Antonia again joined the women's club and worked for the good of her church as much as her health would permit, still enjoying sports, camping and traveling to new places.
Antonia was predeceased by her parents William and Justina Block; sister Anne and brother-in-law Nick Anchikowski; three brothers: Paul Block and sister-in-law Helen of Enderby, BC, Steve Block and sister-in-law Helen of Grunthal, MB, and James Block of Sarto, MB; sister Olga Yurkowski and brother-in-law Emil of Winnipeg, MB.
Left to mourn are husband Steve; sister-in-law Lena Block of Sarto; as well as many nephews and nieces who will sadly miss their favorite aunt.
Funeral service was held on Friday, Dec. 28, 2007 at Sts Peter and Paul Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Interment followed at Lakeview Memorial Gardens, Kelowna.

LEONA REIMER
Our mother and grandmother, Leona Reimer of Steinbach, Manitoba, died peacefully in her sleep at Bethesda Place Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007.
Leona was born at Swalwell, AB, on Mar. 8, 1916 to Jac L. and Mary Toews. This where she grew up and received her education. She married Elmer Reimer of Steinbach, MB on Oct. 6, 1940. They spent a few years in Swalwell working for her father before moving to Steinbach, where she spent the rest of her life. She raised her family, worked some years in a bakery, then housekeeping at Bethesda Hospital. She enjoyed sewing and did some for others through the years. She also enjoyed quilting and gardening.
She made a great impact on others by her gentle quiet nature, her strong faith in God, and leaving us a godly heritage.
She leaves to mourn two daughters: Winnifred (Ivan Froese), Rosenort, MB, Romelda (Charles Penner), Saltcoats, SK; two sons: Murray (Bev), Souris, MB, Bert (Zena) of Richer, MB; 19 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren; two sisters: Margaret Isaac, Bow Island, AB, Alda Isaac, Crooked Creek, AB; two brothers Elmer (Helen), Stettler, AB, Harvey (Susan), Linden, AB.
She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer, a son in infancy, her parents, one brother, and four sisters.
The family would like to express their appreciation to those involved in the good care taken of Mother during her years at Fernwood, and especially the staff at Bethesda Place.
The funeral service was held Monday, Dec. 31, 2007 at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, with interment at Heritage Cemetery.
