Henry Derksen
1960 –2003
Henry F. Derksen, age 42, of Steinbach, passed away at Bethesda Hospital on Sunday, September 28, 2003.
He is survived by his wife Anne, three sisters and their families.
Viewing for Henry will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel on Tuesday, September 30, 2003 from 7 to 8 pm followed by a devotional at 8 pm.
The funeral service will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel, Steinbach on Wednesday, October 1 at 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations in Henry’s memory may be made to assist the family with funeral expenses. For further information call Birchwood Funeral Chapel.
Bernard K. Dueck
1915 – 2003
Bernard K. Dueck, of Steinbach, formerly of Kleefeld, passed away at Rest Haven Nursing Home on Sunday, September 28, 2003 at the age of 87.
He is survived by his wife Helena, six daughters, two sons and their families.
Viewing will be held at Birchwood Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, October 1, 2003 from 7 – 7:30 with a devotional at 7:30 pm. The funeral service will be held at the Evangelical Mennonite Church, Kleefeld, MB on Thursday, October 2 at 2 pm with interment in the churchyard cemetery.

Lorna Blair
1952 - 2003
After a courageous battle with cancer, Lorna Blair of Richer, MB passed away peacefully with her family by her side at the age of 51 years.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of thirty years Clarence, daughter Brenda-Lee, two sons Andrew and Gerald, grandchildren, her mother and father Fred and Dorothy Wolfe, sister Yvonne, brother Kenneth, numerous family and friends.
Lorna’s family would like to thank Anne Plett and doctors and staff of Concordia Hospital and Ste. Anne Hospital for their care and compassion during our hard journey.
The service will be held at the Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, October 4, 2003 at 1:30 pm with lunch to follow at Richer Young at Heart Club.

George Joseph Raymond Goulet
1944 - 2003
After a lengthy illness Georgie Goulet of Winnipeg passed away at the age of 58 years at Ste. Anne Hospital on September 29, 2003.
Georgie is survived by his loving wife Heather and his sons Garry (Debbie), Darren (Nicole), Sammy (Kathy), Chase, and 8 1/2 grandchildren. He is also survived by his siblings Vic (Diane), Paul (Evelyn), Eva (Al), Edmond, Art (Cheryl), Shirley (Gilles) and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He was predeceased by his son Richard, mother Laura Lamoureaux and brother Rene.
Georgie was born in La Broquerie, MB. He worked as a shipper/receiver in the
roofing material industry until 1995 when he became ill. Georgie loved to dance and garden. He was very fond of his frog collection.

Wilhelm (Willie) Buss
1924 – 2003
Peacefully, with his family by his side, my husband, our dad and grandpa passed away October 12, 2003, twelve days before his 79th birthday.
Papa farmed in the Ste. Anne area for forty years. In his spare time, Papa liked to play golf and pool. His greatest love was his family for whom he always made time. Papa will be sadly missed by all who loved him.
Papa was predeceased by his parents and one brother. He is survived by his loving wife, Else, one son Michael (Doris) of Landmark, three daughters Ingrid (Darrell Wasylenko) of Cook’s Creek, Evelyn (Lawrence Roer), Linda Buss (Dylan Morin), nine grandchildren Evan, Angela, Leslie, Adam, Eric, Stephen, Alex, Meghan and Austin. Papa is also survived by his brother Henry (Mia) of Toronto, sisters Mathilda (Josef Höing), Agnes (Hubert Sieverding), Christa Buss, Marichen Buss.
Our thanks to the doctors and staff at the Ste. Anne Hospital for the wonderful care provided for Papa and our family.
The funeral service will be held at the Ste. Anne Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 15, 2 pm with viewing prior to the service. Interment at the church cemetery.

Paul Raymond Bell
May 10, 1945 – November 6, 2003
He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death, or mourning or crying or pain.” Rev. 21:4
After nearly a year long battle with cancer, Dad was called home November 6, 2003 at the Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach with his family at his side.
He lived and farmed in the La Broquerie area for about 50 years with his wife Wilma (Broesky) whom he wed on August 12, 1967.
Dad was predeceased by his parents Garvin and Mary Bell and brothers John and Arnold. He will be greatly missed by his loving wife Wilma, son Lorne (Wanda) and family: Erin, Alana, Ethan and son Kevin (Rachel). He is also survived by one brother Leslie (Vianna) and four sisters Dorothy, Linda (Bill) Sysak, Joyce (John) Kuchak and Joan (Michael) Gigian, many nieces and nephews, as well as mom’s family.
Dad’s passions in life were his family, his friends, being behind the reins of his horses and making music. Today in Heaven, there will be a beautiful new sound of a mandolin. “Dad, we love you and miss you.”
The memorial service will be held Tuesday, November 11, 2003 at 1 p.m. at the Evangelical Mennonite Church, 422 Main St.; Steinbach, MB with ash interment at Heritage Cemetery.
