AGNES VOGT

AGNES VOGT Agnes Vogt passed away on Monday, August 16, 2004 at Central Park Lodge. She was predeceased by her father, Oskar Vogt; mother, Elisabeth Vogt (Strasser); sister, Alice Vogt; and brother Oskar Vogt. Agnes will be sadly missed by her loving sister Irene and brother-in-law Wilhelm; nieces and nephew Marie-Louise, friend Dave, William (Kris) and Elizabeth; relatives in Germany and friends in Canada. Agnes was born on December 11, 1927 in Ukraine. She was a refugee in Germany until 1949. She came to Canada and worked as a telegrapher in Montreal. In New York, she worked at the United Nations as a Russian interpreter. The last years were spent in Winnipeg to be closer to her family. God grant you eternal rest. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, August 19 at 10:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Funeral Home, 4000 Portage Ave. A reception will follow. Dear mother of Walter Gerard Rowcliffe, his wife Alexandra Maria, and their son Walter Matthew Rowcliffe Wilson; Dell M.A.R. and B. Kay Wilson. Sister of the late Gerard and Stephane. Daughter of the late Gerard and Anne Tacwor D'Ibelin. A family service was held on Monday, August 16. Cremation. MARGARET ANN WRAY (nee REECE) 1938 - 2004 Peacefully at her residence on Friday, August 13, 2004 Margaret passed away with her loving husband Fred by her side. Margaret is survived by two sons, Brett (Kendra), Scott (Shannon); three grandchildren, Jorden, Jessie, McKinley; and brother Brian (Karen). Margaret had many friends especially Lorn, Shirley, Judy, Sandi, Rick G. and Rick W. who kept her spirit up throughout her three year battle with breast cancer. Margaret was a faithful employee at the Pembina Hotel for 33 years. We love you and miss you deeply. Thank you to the Palliative Home Care staff also the Oncology Dept of Victoria Hospital. Cremation has taken place. At Margaret's request no funeral service will be held. Donations in Margaret's memory may be made to Cancer Care Manitoba. MAURICE AZURE Resident of Winnipeg and former resident of The Pas, Maurice Azure, passed away Tuesday, August 10, 2004 at the Deer Lodge Hospital, Winnipeg, age 79 years. A Wake Service is being held today at the Church of Messiah, Opaskwayak Cree Nation. The funeral service will be held Monday, August 16, 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cathedral with James Hemauer presiding under the aspices Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cathedral The Pas. MARVIN ERLENDSON

MARVIN HALLDOR ERLENDSON It is with love and sadness that the family announce the passing of their loving father, brother, grandfather and uncle, Marvin Halldor Erlendson on Friday, August 13, 2004 at Luther Home at the age of 60 years. Marvin was predeceased by his father, Andres Marvin in 1955; his mother Molly Katheleen Halldora (nee Anderson) in 1996. He will be lovingly remembered by his children, Sia and Andres (Andy); wife Nancy; grandson Alex; brother Dwight and his family, Vicki, Ashleigh, Delaney; the Roche family of Arborg; Anderson family of Manitoba and British Columbia; Auntie Gracie and family in Delta, BC; Erlendson family of California, along with numerous cousins, and the many friends he had. Marvin was born on June 8, 1944 in Gimli, MB and raised in Arborg, MB. He attended Arborg Collegiate, later moved to Winnipeg. He was an employee for many years at Electrohome and Inglis Canada and had a keen memory for electronics. He was a very social person who had many friends and always flashed a quick smile. He had a love for country music and movies and will be remembered for his sense of humour. He became ill in 1997 and entered Luther Home in 1998. Sincere thanks go to the staff and residents of Luther Home for their care and compassion. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 17 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ardal-Geysir Lutheran Church, Arborg. Interment will follow at the Arborg Community Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kris and Danny Anderson, Jason Roche and Delaney Erlendson. Arborg (MacKenzie) Funeral Home in care of the arrangements.

EDMOND POIRIER

EDMOND JOSEPH POIRIER March 25, 1927 - January 11, 2004 Peacefully, on Sunday, January 11, 2004, after a lengthy battle with cancer, Edmond Joseph Poirier, aged 76 years, passed away at Concordia Hospital. Edmond was predeceased by his parents, Hercule and Anne; brothers, Wilfred and Albert; sister Marion and his beloved wife of 39 years, Joyce. He leaves to cherish his memory, his son Guy (Cindy); his daughter Marianne (Irwin); grandsons, Cameron, Chad and Corey; one brother Henry (Sylvia) Poirier from Calgary, AB; two sisters, Eva Balog from Calgary, AB and Yvonne (Ed) Whelage from Milk River, AB as well as brothers and sisters-in-law, numerous nieces, nephews as well as many life long friends. Edmond was born in Hosmer, BC, where he worked for the Crow's Nest Coal Co. for three years as a miner. At the age of 19 he enlisted in the Navy and served five years on the HMCS Discovery, Stadacona and Magnificent where he received his training in aircraft mechanics. After finishing his training in the Navy, he moved to Winnipeg. He started working for MacDonald Bros. Aircraft in 1951, which later became Bristol Aerospace. He worked for them until he retired in 1991. Edmond joined the Masons in February of 1984 and was a member of the Chartered Lodge of Renewal No. 181, the Empire Lodge No. 127 and of Elmwood Legion No. 9. After retiring from Bristol Aerospace, Edmond very much enjoyed spending time out at his cottage in St. Malo. A place that now holds a lifetime of memories. He took great enjoyment in watching his grandsons, Chad and Cameron play soccer and very rarely missed a game. Edmond was a devoted husband and father. Although his work took a big part of his life, he always made time for his family. There are many fond memories of family camping trips and outings. He was very much involved in his children's sports, taking them to all of their games, and supporting them in every step of their lives. Edmond had a very unique trait, and that was the ability to touch the hearts of everyone he had come in contact with. The family would like to thank Dr. Harris and Dr. Khan for their great care, also all the staff of the 3rd floor, palliative care for all their kindness and extraordinary care. Also to all his friends that brightened his days with their visits. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Thursday, January 15 at 1:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Edmond's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 109-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9.
