STEVE GERMAINE We are saddened to announce the sudden passing of Steve Germaine who died at Seven Oaks Hospital, Tuesday, August 11, 2004. Steve is survived by his son Erin and fiance Mona. He was predeceased by his wife Theresa; parents; brothers, Mike and Peter. Steve was born in St. Clement's Municipality, MB in 1931. He worked for the City of Winnipeg and then Gen Star Construction for 20 years. He loved the outdoors, camping and fishing, plus travelling throughout Canada. DOUGLAS WILLIAM LYLE HARTMIER It is with deep regret that we announce the sudden passing of our dear brother on August 8, 2004 at the age of 46 years. Douglas is survived by his two sisters, Lynne and Susan; brother Cliff; sister-in-law Deanna; niece Damara; three nephews, Justin, Chris and Cord; many friends and acquaintances. Douglas will be missed by the congregation of Waves of Glory Full Gospel Chapel located at 364 Furby St., and the many people he worked with and served at the weekly soup kitchen sponsored by the Chapel. He will also be missed by the staff and patrons of the Portage and Sherbrook McDonald's location. His life's passion was music and was considered the best locally on the bass guitar. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 5 Kent Rd., Winnipeg, MB R2L 9Z9. Funeral service will be held in Thomson Funeral Chapel, 669 Broadway, on Saturday August 14 at 4:00 p.m. Pastor Edwin Wiebe officiating. JONATHAN HOFER February 5, 1926 - August 10, 2004 On Tuesday, August 10, 2004, Jonathan Hofer passed away at the St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 78 years. Jonathan will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 53 years, Mary; his three sons, Levi (Diane), John (Sandy) and David (Mitzy); five daughters, Maria (Don), Lena (Cyril), Ruth (Bill), Sarah (Grant) and Christina (Marvin); his grandchildren, Rick (Jackie), Jeremy, Ginnelle, Kyle, Jessie, Kelly, Michelle, Nicole, Ryan, Paige, Chelsea, Chad, Casandra, Calvin and Kimmy; his brothers and sisters, Sarah, Rachel, Katherina, Ruth, Herman, Samuel, Andrew and Clara; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Jonathan was predeceased by his father Samuel; and by his mother Sarah; his brothers, Edward and Ernest; his sisters, Elizabeth and Margaret; and by his son Gilbert. Jonathan was a loving man who lived life with passion. A celebration of Jonathan's life will be held at the Worldwide Church of God, 50 Barnes St. in Fort Garry, on Saturday, August 14 at 3:00 p.m. A gathering of family and friends will follow. The family would like to thank the many doctors and healthcare professionals who provided care to Jonathan. YVONNE M. HORNICK March 26, 1911 - August 10, 2004 It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Yvonne at the age of 93 on August 10, 2004 at Bethesda Hospital in Steinbach, MB. She will be sadly missed by her six children, Gail (Steve) Yeryk, Gerald (Shirley) Hornick, Marina (Louis) Toupin, Jenny (Amile) Stelmack, Noella (Walter) Wychnenko, William (Dianne) Hornick; 27 grandchildren; 52 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; one sister Elise (Edward) Harel; and brother Roger (Terry) Gomien. She was predeceased by her loving husband William, one great-grandson Joshua, mother, father, five brothers and three sisters. Mom's greatest joy was always her children and their families. Mom gave unselfishly of everything she had, but the greatest gift of all was the love she shared. She touched the lives of so many people. The pallbearers will be grandsons, Mark Yeryk, Jason Hornick, Keith Toupin, Terrance Stelmack, Trevor Wychnenko, and Bradley Hornick. The family would like to thank the staff of Bethesda Hospital for their care and support. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 14 at 2:30 p.m. at Christ our Saviour Catholic Church, 365 Loewen Blvd., Steinbach, with Fr. Leo Couture officiating.
