IRENEE (RENE) LAMBERT June 8, 1940 - August 5, 2004 Peacefully, with his family by his side, Irenee (Rene) Lambert passed away at St. Pierre Hospital on August 5, 2004, at the age of 64. Rene died with grace and dignity after a courageous battle with cancer. He leaves to mourn his loving wife Louise and children, Lise (Don) Miller, Gerald (Jacinte), Joel (Micheline Lafond) and his six grandchildren, Matthew, Daniel, Mikayla, Gabrielle, Isabelle and Colin. He is survived by his sister Estelle (Raynald) St-Hilaire; brothers, Claude, Gilbert (Paulette), Benoit (Suzanne), Gabriel (Louise) and Real (Carolle); family friend Normand (Marie) Poirier; numerous nieces and nephews and many close friends. He was predeceased by his two infant sons, Guy and Jean-Guy, his parents, Wilfrid and Lucille and his sisters, Micheline Lambert and Julie Courcelles. The family wishes to express thanks to doctors, nurses and support staff at St. Pierre and St. Boniface Hospitals as well as his homecare workers for their wonderful care and compassion. We would also like to extend special thanks to the family and friends who have given us much needed support during these trying times. Prayers will be held Tuesday, August 10 at 2:00 p.m. followed by funeral services at 2:30 p.m. at St. Malo Catholic Church. Fr. J. Choiselat will be officiating. Interment will follow at the St. Malo cemetery. If friends so desire, donations can be made to the Canadian Paraplegic Association, 825 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1M4 in lieu of flowers. ROBERT "BERT" McLAREN LISTER March 4, 1917 - July 31, 2004 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Lister on July 31, 2004 at the St. Boniface Hospital. Left to mourn his passing and to cherish his loving memory is his beloved wife Muriel; children, Irene (Wayne), Brian (Shawne); grandchildren, Heather, Steven and Michelle; sister-in-law Dorothy; nephew Donald (Mona); niece Linda (Frank) and their families. He was predeceased by his parents, Hugh and Emma; brothers, Hugh and Ronald. Bert served in the 6th Canadian Field Regiment Royal Canadian Artillery, 13th Battery. While overseas he met and married Muriel, his wife of 56 years and after he retired from Burns Foods, they enjoyed many years of travel. Bert loved sports and was forever present cheering on his son and grandchildren at all their games, earning him honorary membership on several different teams. He gave up his two favourite games, curling and golf, due to ill health. However, he was determined to keep active and he and Muriel joined Vital Seniors for carpet bowling, enjoying the friendship of the members. In accordance to Bert's wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service will take place on Tuesday, August 10 at 11:00 a.m. in the St. Mary Magdalene Church, 3 St. Vital Rd. KRISTINA (MATKA) LONEC 1902 - 2004 After a full 102 years of life, Matka passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 3, 2004 in Toronto, ON. Matka was born in Slovenia on July 25, 1902, where she spent most of her life. She immigrated to Canada in 1968 to be closer to her family, who had chosen to move earlier to Canada. Matka spent many happy years living in Winnipeg living with her daughter Angela. She was most proud of spending time with family and tending to all the neighborhood gardens. Matka moved to the Dom Lipa Care Home in Toronto in 1991. Matka will be missed by all who knew her, from her family members to all her friends. Matka's greatest pleasures in life were her singing and going to church. And in her later years, you could always count on her singing a song or two when you went to visit her. Matka was predeceased by her husband Matija; daughter Angela; son-in-law Ivan Zorko; granddaughter in law Renate Zorko. Also predeceased by her parents, brothers and sisters. She is survived by her Zorko grandchildren, Mirko, Stanley, Maria (Lance Vigfusson), and Ivan (Charmaine); great-grandchildren, Mirko, Andrew, Lori (Mike Oneschuk), Zane, and Mia, and two great-great-grandchildren, Danica and Ethan. Her niece Olga Hanc and family, her nephew Joe Lonec and family. Celebration of life was held on August 5 at St. Gregory the Great Slovenian Roman Catholic Church in Hamilton. She will rest in peace at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. In Matka's memory, donations maybe made to a charity of one's choice.

GEORGE LOVE George Love passed away on July 30, 2004, at age 80. George is survived by his wife Pat; his son David; his three daughters, Georgie, Penny, Michelle and his three stepchildren, Linda, Brent and Randy. Memorial service will be held on Sunday, August 8 at 2:00 p.m. at Schoening's Funeral Service in Kamloops.

HELEN LUCYSHYN Peacefully, on Wednesday August 4, 2004, at the Red River Place Personal Care Home, Selkirk, Helen Lucyshyn, aged 84 years, passed away. Helen was born on November 17, 1919, in Melnice, MB. She was predeceased by her parents, Anton and Anna Ksionzek; husband Nicholas; son Dale; seven sisters, Mary Zelinski, Stella Bowles, Eva Jones, Margaret Srutwa, Rosie Spulnick, Nellie More, Kay Ksionzek; and two brothers, Joseph and Charlie Ksionzek. Helen is survived by her children, Richard (Lorraine), Ronnie (Janet), Rita (Bill), Dennis, Chris (Lillian) and Connie (Pat); grandchildren, Daryl (Heather), Tina (Keith), Courtney, Catelynn and Chandra; great-grandchildren, Alexandra and Steven, Coral and Kelsy. Rest in Peace Baba. Helen also leaves surviving, sisters-in-law, Olga and Josie Ksionzek; brother-in-law Ron Bowles; and many nieces, nephews and friends. She loved the outdoors and spent as much time as she could gardening. She was also an avid bingo player and never passed up the opportunity to travel. Prayers will be said on Sunday, August 8 at 7:00 p.m. in the Gilbart Funeral Chapel, Selkirk. A memorial service will be held on Monday, August 9 at 10:00 a.m., also in the Chapel, with Rev. Juanita MacKinnon - Smith officiating. Interment to follow in the Holy Rosary Cemetery, Winnipeg Beach, MB, with a luncheon following at the Netley Community Hall. Helen's pallbearers will be Victor Srutwa, Daryl Lucyshen, Pat Hermanson, Tony Lentz, Mac MacPhail and Doug Wilson. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Helen's memory to the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba, CE501-840 Sherbrook St., Winnipeg, MB R3A 1S1, or to CancerCare Manitoba Rm 1160-675 McDermot Ave., Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9. RUTH M. MAGNESS Ruth Magness passed away on Saturday, July 31, 2004 in Winnipeg. She was born in Edmonton, AB on December 15, 1902. Ruth was retired from the C.N.R. She was preceded in death by her husband Gerald. Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Helen and Chester McHugh of Camano Island, WA; grandson Stephen of Mountlake Terrace, WA; and granddaughter Karen and family of Virginia Beach, VA.
