BRIAN LOFVENDAHL

BRIAN ROBERT LOFVENDAHL August 12, 1950 - July 16, 2004 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian, aged 53, on July 16, 2004, after a lengthy illness. Brian is survived by his wife Debra Lofvendahl (Taylor) and sons, Sean (Catherine) Lofvendahl, Brian Jr. (Kelly) Lofvendahl, and daughter Amanda Lofvendahl; his stepdaughters, Shalaine Mondor and Suzanne (Sean) Clevette. Sadly, Brian also leaves behind to cherish his memory seven beautiful grandchildren, Tia, Chloe, Caden, Madelaine, Tianna, Brooke and Caitlin. Also, Brian's parents, Mildred and Lorne Steenerson; his brother Blair and sister Tami (Brian); and many nephews and nieces. Brian was predeceased by his father Robert and his uncle Robert Burton. Brian was born, educated and lived in Winnipeg. He started his career working for Westinghouse but found his niche selling electronics where he was General Manager for Sanyo Electronics for seven years and Mitsubishi, two years. He decided to pursue his dream of working for himself and with his partner, Ken Thompson, founded an agency called Manpro Enterprises. Brian loved and owned several Harley Davidson motorcycles over the years. He also was a huge Winnipeg Blue Bomber football fan. Brian's wonderful sense of humour and good-natured personality will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to have known him. The family would like to thank Dr. Narrandes and the many staff members at Deer Lodge Centre for all their care and support. Special thanks to Gersh and Margaret Sucharov for all your love and support. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 3:30 p.m., at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., with Rev. HAROLD McGHEE

HAROLD RAYMOND McGHEE (RAY) Peacefully on July 17, 2004, Ray passed away at the Portage District General Hospital. Ray was born near Teulon, MB on October 8, 1921. Ray served with the Canadian army in France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany during the Second World War. After the war, he married June Eileen Jones on December 19, 1945. Except for his military service overseas, Ray spent most of his life in Winnipeg. He lived for many years on Berwyn Bay in Transcona. Ray spent the last year of his life happily living in Gladstone, MB, where he was fondly known as "grandpa" by the community. He was a member of Gladstone Legion No. 110 and the Gladstone Seniors Drop-In Centre. He was a regular attendee at the weekly fiddle concerts at Third Crossing Manor and loved going out for coffee or ice cream. He was predeceased by his wife Eileen; parents, Alfred and Jean Grierson; infant daughter June; brothers, George, Doug, Norman, and Don; sister Evelyn. He leaves to mourn, his daughters, Carol (Robert) Hunter and Diana McGhee; son Richard McGhee; grandchildren, Buster and Eileen Hunter and Graham and Leanne Grieves; sisters, Jean Linklater of Winnipeg, Eleanor Mawson of Kelowna, BC; brother Gordon McGhee of Bordenhaunts, England; as well as many nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be held on Friday, August 6 at 2:00 p.m. at the Gladstone United Church, Gladstone. Interment will take place on Saturday, August 7 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel Lawn Memorial Gardens, 4000 Portage Ave. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Mood Disorder Association of Manitoba, 4-1000 Notre Dame Ave., R3E 0N3. JULIE NOLAN

JULIE MARY NOLAN (1934-2004) It is with great sadness that the family announces the passing of Julie Mary Nolan on Sunday, July 18, 2004 at the Peter Lougheed Hospital in Calgary, at the age of 69 years. Julie was predeceased by Tom her husband of 47 years and her brother Jim. Julie will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Michael (Grainne), David (Deneen), Brian (Lisa); and grandchildren, Rory, Erin, Riley, Shelby, Kennedy, Connor and Ryan. She will, also, be lovingly remembered by her sisters, Kathleen, Marie, Mary, Ann; and many nieces and nephews in Ireland and Winnipeg. Julie was born and raised in Dublin, Ireland and immigrated to Canada in 1956. She lived in many places in Canada and spent many happy years in Yorkton, SK to finally settle in Winnipeg. She was a loving mother and friend to all she met. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, July 23 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help, 4588 Roblin Blvd. with Fr. Barry officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be held in the church hall following the service. The family wishes to thank the staff at the Peter Lougheed Hospital for their compassion and care to Julie and the family. During her illness Julie was extremely grateful for all the heartfelt wishes and support she received from friends and family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Julie's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society, 193 Sherbrook St, Winnipeg, MB R3G 9Z9.

YVONNE ROMANYCHYN

YVONNE ROMANYCHYN (ROMAN) (SOCHOR) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother and grammy on July 14, 2004 at the Seven Oaks Hospital at the age of 85 years. Mom will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Gerald, (wife Rose Marie) and Harold, (wife Vera); grandchildren, Robyn (husband Mark Waddell), Jay, Jared and Matthew. Also left to remember her are brothers, Emil (Josie) and Steve and her nieces and nephews. Her beloved husband Bill, predeceased Mom in 1989. Mom and Dad were married in 1943 and together they enjoyed 46 years happy years together. They spent many weekends at their cottage at Lake Brereton, travelling to Disneyland, Hawaii, Cuba and across Canada and the United States. It was Mom's fondest wish to go to Hawaii one more time. Mom worked for many years in the fur business and latterly as a secretary for the Workers Benevolent Association, retiring in 1984. While at the WBA she hosted two tours to the Ukraine. Specials thanks to the caregivers at the Maples Personal Care Home and the nurses in Unit 4 and 7 at the Seven Oaks Hospital for their kindness, care and attention. At Mom's request cremation has taken place. A memorial service in her memory will be held at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. on Wednesday, July 21 at 12:30 in the afternoon. GERALD SAMPSON

GERALD GORDON SAMPSON Gerald Gordon Sampson, peacefully, after a lengthy battle with cancer, passed away at the Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga, on Saturday, July 17, 2004, in his 78th year. Survived by his loving wife Diane (Sayer) of 51 years; daughter Lynn (Paul) Woroshow and son Stewart (Shirley) Sampson; grandchildren, Eric, Sarah and Andrew. Dear brother to Gwen (Bill) Zroback, Al (Colleen) Sampson and Harold (May) Sampson. Gerry was 54 years a Master Mason; a life member of Pequonga Lodge #414 in Kenora, ON. He was a life member and Past "Z" of Toronto-Antiquity Chapter #91 of Royal Arch Masons and a life member Emmanuel Preceptory #83. Gerry was also a life member of the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rite Freemasons, having been raised to the 32nd degree in the Moore Sovereign Consistory in 1962. Gerry was a proud Shriner, and a Past Pipe Major and co-founder of the Rameses Shriners Pipe Band. He was also a member of the Fountain Hills Masonic Square Club and the International Association of Turtles. Gerry was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #344. Past commanding officer of the 78th Fraser Highlanders also a member of the Honorable Guard and of the Honorable Henchmen. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, July 22 at the St. Andrew's Memorial Presbyterian Church, 24 Stavebank Rd., Mississauga, 905-278-8907 at 11:00 a.m. Memorial visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Credit Valley Hospital-Cancer Wing or a charity of choice.

BRIAN ROWLAND SELLERS Brian Rowland Sellers passed away suddenly on Sunday, July 18, 2004 at the age of 78 years. He was born in Killarney, MB, on March 22, 1926. Survived by his family, Victor (Ann-Marie) of Kelowna, Murray of Richmond, Judy Miloglav of Surrey, Larry (Heather) of Surrey; eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and sister Irene Farrell of Abbotsford. Sadly predeceased by his wife Margaret and two sisters, Alice and Agnes. Memorial service will be held on Friday, July 23, 2004 at l:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield Rd., Kelowna, BC.
