MARTINO CARVALHO SOARES On July 7, 2004, Martino Soares passed away suddenly at the age of 25 years. Martino is survived by his parents Celestino and Ilda; one brother Emanuel (Geeta), two sisters Zenaida, Sandra; nephews and nieces Emanuel, Elexa, Vanessa, Quinn, Dylan, Shea and Ava; uncles and aunt Dinis (Geraldina), Isaura (Joe), Manuel, Joe; numerous cousins in BC and in Winnipeg; many friends including his best friend Nelson Amaral. He was predeceased by his grandparents Carlos and Gloria Coelho, Manuel and Maria Benevides; and aunt Maria. Martino was born in Winnipeg, July 13, 1978 and loved life. He loved to hang out with his friends. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He had a heart of gold. He took pride in everything that he owned and did. He was always there when you needed him. Prayers will be held on Sunday, July 11, 2004, 7:00 p.m., at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, 181 Austin Street. Funeral service will be held at the Church on Monday, July 12, at 10:00 am, with Rev. Msgr. Maurice J. P.H., V.F., presiding. Interment will follow at Assumption Cemetery. ROSS M. SOLOMON Peacefully, on the morning of Thursday, July 8, 2004, in the comfort of his loving wife's arms, Ross Solomon passed away at the age of 70. Besides his wife Zinovia, Ross leaves to mourn his sons, Roman (Maureen), Peter (Liz) and his adoring grandchildren, Mykaila, Alexa, Conrad and Trent. He also leaves to mourn his sister Celina (Walter) and sister-in-law Rose; nieces and nephews. Ross was predeceased by his mother Sophie in 1984, father William in 1986 and baby brother who died at birth. Dad was very involved with St. Mary the Protectress Ukrainian Orthodox Church, the Millennium Villa, U.N.F. and Veselka Summer Camp. Nothing pleased Dad more than spending time with his grandchildren and being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He could be frequently seen riding his lawnmower at Veselka wearing his famous camouflage hat. Prayers will be sung at 7:00 p.m. Sunday, July 11 at the Ukrainian Orthodox Cathedral of St. Mary the Protectress, 820 Burrows Ave. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 12, also at the Cathedral with Rev. J. Buciora officiating. Interment will follow in Glen Eden Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Kapty, Greg Hollyer, Michael Powiada, Leonard Andrusiak, Brad Richlewski and Ernie Matichuk. The family would like to thank Dr. Taras Babick and the staff of Concordia Hospital for the care during Dad's illness. ROY FREDERIC SULLIVAN Suddenly, on Friday, July 2, 2004, Roy passed away in Abbotsford, B.C. at the age of 70. Roy was born in Hamilton, Ont. on December 15, 1933. He lived and worked in Winnipeg for many years, before moving to B.C. He is survived by his children, Patricia (Jim), David (Heather), Karen (Joseph), Glenn (Sally), Jamie (Helen), Tammy (Paul); grandchildren and great grandson; his devoted partner Olga and her children, brothers Charles (Beverly) Joe (Frances); sisters Dorothy and Jo-Anne, nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his many friends. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held at a later date. If desired, donations in his memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation. We love you Dad You will be missed

MARGARET ANN SUTTON (nee DRINNAN) 1933 - 2004 Margaret Ann died on Thursday, July 8, 2004 at Winnipeg. She is survived by her husband Richard, son James, his wife Lisa and daughter Claire. Also her sister Ella Austford of Winnipeg and daughters, Leslie of Calgary and Tracey and Ed Yeager and daughters, Caledonia and Harper of Prescott, Arizona, sister-in-law Kathleen of Winnipeg. Margaret was born in The Pas, MB on February 23, 1933 and moved to Dauphin, MB in 1940. She attended Whitmore School, Smith Jackson JHS and Dauphin Collegiate & Technical Institute. Following school, she worked for the R.C.M.P., Dauphin Subdivision as Central Registry Clerk. She married Richard on June 28, 1958 and went to live in Brandon MB, where her son James was born in 1962. In 1963 she and James travelled to Malaysia to join Richard who was serving there as a Colombo Plan expert with an educational scheme. She returned to Canada in 1965 and settled in Winnipeg. During this period she worked as an executive secretary at the St. Boniface General Hospital for 18 years. Cremation has taken place, and there will be no memorial service. NEIL BARDAL INC. 949-2200

BERNICE SWATEK 1922 - 2004 After a courageous battle with cancer, Bernice passed away at the Victoria Hospital at the age of 82 years. Bernice was predeceased by her husband, Albert; parents Michael and Katherine Dybka; sister Mary Ference; brothers, Michael and Walter Dybka. She will be lovingly remembered by her son, Russ (Gail) Swatek; grandchildren, David (Elan) and Susan (David); great-grandchildren, Rachel and Max; one brother, Rev. Fr. Yaroslaw Dybka C.S.s.R.; sisters, Ann Kolodi, Olga Dybka, and Sister Petronella Dybka. She will also be sadly missed by extended family and friends. Bernice was born and lived in Winnipeg her entire life and worked for Quinton's for many years. She was a longtime member of the Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church. She enjoyed travelling and knitting and was very proud of her family. She will be remembered as an intelligent and witty person who was always up for a debate with family and friends. The family would like to thank Dr. F. Salem and the staff at 4th floor Victoria Hospital. Prayers will be held Sunday, July 11, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1001 Grant Avenue. Funeral Mass will be held Monday, July 12, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. also at Holy Family Ukrainian Catholic Church at Harrow and Grant. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bernice's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, R3E 0V9.
