HENRY WALLACE CAMPBELL June 26, 2004 On Saturday, June 26, Henry Wallace Campbell peacefully entered the world and our hearts. Our little angel will always live on and we find strength in knowing that he is not suffering and is at peace. Henry is survived by his adoring parents, Henry and Laurie; big brother Seth and Grandma Helen Drysdale. He was predeceased by his Grandpa Wallace Drysdale and Grandma Flora Campbell. Our baby boy has touched our lives and he will always be remembered and immensely missed. We would like to express our gratitude to all of the wonderful staff at the Womens Hospital who helped to ease the pain of losing our beautiful boy. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Children's Hospital Foundation of Manitoba, CE 501, 84 Sherbrook, Winnipeg, MB R3A 1S1. A private memorial service will take place at a later date. OLGA CHAPKO 1918 - 2004 On Monday, June 28, 2004, surrounded by her family, Mom peacefully passed away at the Concordia Hospital and will be reunited with her dear and loving husband, Andrew who predeceased her April 7, 1996. She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Alex (Myrna), Fred (Vernie) and Clarence (Donna); daughters, Irene (Mitch) and Gladys (Joe); grandchildren, Clyde, Sharon, Sandi (Brad), Daren (Phyllis), Carey, Kristen, Gary (Cindy), Donna (Ed), Lori (Cam), Cindy (Ron) and Dawn (Paul); great-grandchildren, Justine, Katerina, Brendan, Tyler, Mitchell, Evan, Gary, Amanda, Lauren, Brittany and Taylor; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Olga was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Matrona Mazur; brothers, Peter, Mike, Tom, Bill and John. Mom and Dad farmed in the Cooks Creek area for 31 years and then owned and operated the Post Office and Chapko's General Store. Upon retirement and moving to her new home in Oakbank, she had more time to travel, visit the casino and tend to her garden and flowers, which she loved. She kept her freezer full with dozens of perogies and cabbage buns. Mom's call and compassion for her family had endured her to her last day on earth. She lovingly called her family to "help yourself, come and eat." With her family gathered around her bedside, it is a tribute to Mom's life. Mom instilled and passed on different values, principles, beliefs, skills and abilities to each of her family members. Prayers will be sung on Friday evening, July 2 at 7:00 p.m. in the Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church, Cooks Creek, MB. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, July 3 at 10:00 a.m. also in the church with Rev. Fr. Taras Kowch officiating. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church Cemetery, Cooks Creek, MB. Pallbearers will be Gary Gach, Clyde Chapko, Daren Chapko, Dawn Fisher, Carey Chapko and Mitchell Gach. As an expression of sympathy, donations in Olga's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 6 Donald St., Suite 200, Winnipeg, MB R3L 0K6. ANNE ROSALIE CZARKOWSKI After a brief illness, Anne Rosalie Czarkowski, aged 89 years, passed away on Tuesday, June 29, 2004 at the Health Sciences Centre. Anne was predeceased by three brothers, John, Frank and Joe and her niece, Maureen. Left to cherish her memory are two sisters, Betty and Mary and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Prayers will be said on Monday, July 5 at 7:00 p.m. at Knysh Funeral Chapel, 1020 Main St. A memorial mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, July 6 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, 355 St. Andrews St. and Mountain Avenue with Rev. Fr. Diosdado Parrenas presiding. Interment to follow at Assumption Cemetery. JOHN IRWIN FARRELL John Irwin Farrell, born February 9, 1915 in Dauphin, MB, died peacefully on June 27, 2004 at Vancouver General Hospital at the age of 89. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Edna; son David and his wife Anne-Marie and their children, Ariane, Jennifer and Alexandre; and daughter Linda. Irwin served in the Canadian Navy in the Second World War (H.M.C.S. Medicine Hat) and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 142 and the Vancouver Naval Veterans Association. He had an enjoyable career as a long term Quaker Oats sales representative. He was also a longtime member of United Commercial Travelers and North West Commercial Travelers . He was extremely active in sports in Dauphin and Winnipeg, having played third base for the Senior League Bryce's Bakery team in the 1930s. In Vancouver, he was a dedicated umpire in minor league baseball, primarily at Chaldecott Park. He was a past president of the Dunbar Heights Lawn Bowling Association. Irwin was active in Harrow United Church (Winnipeg), Dunbar Heights United and Kerrisdale Presbyterian in Vancouver. The family wishes to thank Dr. Farah and the staff on 12B (Chest Centre) at VGH for their care and support, and also the management and staff at Windermere Care Centre for their loving care these past three years. Flowers are gratefully declined. Irwin requested that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Cremation by request. Memorial service will be held at a later date.

SAM FIRESTONE 1915 - 2004 With great sadness that we announce the passing of our dear friend Sam Firestone, June 26, 2004 aged 89. Sam's memory will be cherished by many friends and a niece. Sam was born in Winnipeg and was a loyal North End resident who had a long and successful career in Haberdashery at Dayton's. Sam was a bookworm and was well known, even feared, for his quick mind and his sharp wit. His kind heart and sense of humour will be missed. A celebration of Sam's life was held June 30 at the Sharon Home. Interment at Hebrew Sick cemetery. Donations in his memory can be made to the Sharon Home, 146 Magnus Ave., Winnipeg, MB R2W 2B4.
