She will be lovingly remembered by her sons, Alex (Myrna), Fred (Vernie) and Clarence (Donna); daughters, Irene (Mitch) and Gladys (Joe); grandchildren, Clyde, Sharon, Sandi (Brad), Daren (Phyllis), Carey, Kristen, Gary (Cindy), Donna (Ed), Lori (Cam), Cindy (Ron) and Dawn (Paul); great-grandchildren, Justine, Katerina, Brendan, Tyler, Mitchell, Evan, Gary, Amanda, Lauren, Brittany and Taylor; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Mom and Dad farmed in the Cooks Creek area for 31 years and then owned and operated the Post Office and Chapko's General Store. Upon retirement and moving to her new home in Oakbank, she had more time to travel, visit the casino and tend to her garden and flowers, which she loved. She kept her freezer full with dozens of perogies and cabbage buns. Mom's call and compassion for her family had endured her to her last day on earth. She lovingly called her family to "help yourself, come and eat." With her family gathered around her bedside, it is a tribute to Mom's life. Mom instilled and passed on different values, principles, beliefs, skills and abilities to each of her family members. Prayers will be sung on Friday evening, July 2 at 7:00 p.m. in the Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church, Cooks Creek, MB. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on Saturday, July 3 at 10:00 a.m. also in the church with Rev. Fr. Taras Kowch officiating. Interment will follow in the Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church Cemetery, Cooks Creek, MB. Pallbearers will be Gary Gach, Clyde Chapko, Daren Chapko, Dawn Fisher, Carey Chapko and Mitchell Gach.
