KATHERINE ROMANIW Peacefully, Katherine Romaniw passed away at the Deer Lodge Centre on Sunday, June 15, 2003. She was born in the County of Lwow, Ukraine on September 26, 1929. She left the Ukraine with the help of her sister, Stefania, and immigrated to Canada. Soon after arriving in Canada, she met and married Harry Romaniw and had two sons, Walter and Roman. She then started a new life on her own as a seamstress working for several sewing factories. She met Stanley Abramowicz and they had a daughter Barbara. Katherine was loved and will sadly be missed by her daughter Barbara; sons, Walter and Roman (Sharon) and granddaughters, Danika, Tesia and Celina. She was predeceased by mother Anna (Liwacz); father Michael Chomiszak and sister Stefania Feszczak. Special thanks to Holy Family staff on the St. John's ward for their wonderful care and compassion during her residence at Holy Family. We were comforted knowing that she was so lovingly taken care of at Holy Family. Thanks also to the staff at Deer Lodge for making her last moments comfortable. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 19 at 10:30 a.m. at Holy Ghost Church, 341 Selkirk Ave. Interment will follow at Holy Ghost Cemetery. WILLARD SCARROTT "DUSTY" October 18, 1935 - June 13, 2003 After a short illness Dusty passed away on June 13, 2003. He leaves to mourn several nieces, nephews and extended family. Special thanks to Dr. Bland, Leilani, Jane, Tina, Shane and the other nursing staff and Susan Edmonds at the Seven Oaks Hospital. Viewing will be on Tuesday, June 17 between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. and the funeral service will be held there on Wednesday, June 18 at 6:00 p.m. Reception to follow service on Wednesday. FREDA SHIPPER Freda Marie Shipper of 128 Killoran Cres., Stratford, ON., passed away suddenly at her home on Saturday, June 14, 2003 in her 90th year. Born in Lac du Bonnet, MB., she was the daughter of the late Carl and Beret (Larson) Gustafson. Freda loved to garden. She also enjoyed many years of curling at the Rossmere Curling Club in Winnipeg and spending time at the family cottage at Beaver Creek. In August 1995, Freda and her husband Henry moved to Stratford. Beloved wife of the late Henry Shipper, whom she married in Winnipeg on September 24, 1938. Dear mother of Carol and husband Alan Oakes of Stratford and Gail and husband Gary Mullin of St. George, New Brunswick. Dear grandmother of Amber and Cody Oakes, Mike Mullin and Carl Mullin and wife Denise. Also surviving are several great-grandchildren; one sister and one brother. She was predeceased by five brothers and sisters. In keeping with Freda's wishes, funeral arrangements will be private. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations may be made to the Stratford General Hospital Foundation through the Heinbuck Funeral Home, 156 Albert St., Stratford at 1-519-271-5062.

ANNA TRACZ (nee SOPEL) It is with deep sadness and sorrow that we announce the passing our dear wife, mother, grandmother, and our best friend, Anna Tracz, who peacefully, with her family by her side, passed on at the age of 78 years at Seven Oaks Hospital on June 14, 2003. Rosary will be said on Thursday, June 19 at 6:30 p.m. at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St., followed by prayers at 7:00 p.m. Divine Liturgy will be celebrated on on Friday, June 20 at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Ukrainian Catholic Church, Cooks Creek, MB, with Rev. ROBERT (BOBBY) BEAN It is with sadness we announce the passing of Bobby on January 30, 2003 after a lengthy illness. He was predeceased by his father Norman in 1989 and mother Kathleen (Kelly) in 1996. Left to cherish his memory are brothers, Jim (Jan), Donald (Lorraine) of Teulon, Richard of Balmoral and sister-in-law Margaret of Winnipeg; nephews, Donald, Darryl (Janice) Taylor and Grayson, Darcy (Chrisy) Jordan; nieces, Catharine of Winnipeg and Karen of Edmonton; many aunts, cousins and friends. In accordance with the family wishes, cremation has already taken place and no memorial service will be held. In lieu of a service there will be an Open House Sunday, February 9 from 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. at 3010 King Edward St. to honour Bobby's memory. The family would like to thank the nursing staff of Seven Oaks Hospital, Fifth Floor Unit 3 for the exceptional care and compassion they showed during the time Bobby was in their care. JOHN (JACK) BEAUCHAMP With great sadness the family announces the passing of their husband, father and grandfather, Jack Beauchamp on Monday, February 3, 2003 at St. Boniface Hospital. He will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by his wife of 44 years, Joan; daughters, Donna, Karen (Bob) Milani and Patti (Hub) Berube; six grandchildren, Matt Beauchamp, Ashleigh and Braden Milani and Jenna Stephanie and Evan Berube; brothers, Ken (Rhoda) of Leduc, AB, Cal (Helen) of Woodlands, MB; sister Shirley Krychuk of Argyle, MB; brother-in-law Reg (Aenone) Studler of Woodlands, MB, as well as many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his faithful companion "Spike." Jack was predeceased by his parents, Bill and Liz Beauchamp; in-laws, John and Rose Studler; brothers, Raymond and Herb and brother-in-law William "Doc" Krychuk. Dad was born on July 3, 1929 in Winnipeg and grew up in Woodlands, MB. He married Joan Studler on July 19, 1958 and settled in Winnipeg. Jack was in the vacuum repair business for 34 years, opening City Vacuum Service in 1960 and later became owner and operator of Osborne Vacuum from 1981, until his retirement in 1994. He was involved with the South Fort Rouge Business and Professional Association and the Golden Rule Seniors Monday Night Bingo. He enjoyed baseball and hockey in his younger years and later hunting, fishing and golf. He was a member of the Heather Game and Fish Association for many years. During his retirement he enjoyed travelling to Mesa, Arizona. His favourite pastime was cheering on his grandchildren at their many sporting events. The family wishes to thank the staff at 5A South at St. Boniface Hospital, and we thank all of our family, friends and co-workers for their concern, help and support. Special thanks to Bud Phillips for the Saturday afternoon coffee breaks at Robin's and to Norm and Terry Mann for all their love and support. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association or Manitoba Heart and Stroke Foundation in Dad's memory. Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 8 at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. Arrangements entrusted to: GLEN EDEN FUNERAL HOME 4477 MAIN STREET 338-7111
