EUGENE J. FONTAINE November 10, 1952- February 3, 2003 My father peacefully carried on to the next world, Monday evening, to be reunited with his bro Ray. He will be remembered and dearly missed by his son Jean-Paul; his brothers and sisters, Norman, Denis, Paulette Clark, Guy, Roberta Pangman, Robert, Theresa, Irene and Lucille; and many other family members and friends. Eugene was predeceased by his brother Raymond; and his mother and father, Claudette and Paul Fontaine. MAURICE RICHARD FOSTER In sorrow, we announce the passing of Maurice (Ike) Richard Foster on February 4, 2003 at the age of 71. He was a great brother, uncle and friend to many. He is survived by two sisters, Jean Foster and Mary Heindle (George); and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Bill and Polly Foster; his brothers, Ray, Russell (Gwen) and Harvey; and sisters, Ethel Yankowski (Gene) and Lil Handford (Bud). In accordance with his wishes, immediate cremation has taken place and there will be no memorial service. Longer obituary to follow.

DIANE FRANCIS GORSUCH (nee KOSSICK) In loving memory of Diane Francis Gorsuch (nee Kossick) born December 5, 1944 in Moose Jaw, SK, died February 4, 2003 in Winnipeg. Predeceased by her father Frank Kossick. Diane is survived by son Sean Gorsuch and his wife Anna Maria and children Tomeia and Liam; mother Anne Larrivee; sisters, Rhea Denesik (Rodney), Valerie St Denis (Dwight), Lorraine Denaka (Ron); brothers, Joe and Don Kossick (Denise Kouri); nieces, Lise (Ches), Rosa, Tanya, Cheryl, Michelle; grandniece Natalie; nephews, Tyrell, Nathan (Briane), Nigel, Robert and Darryl; extended family, Stuart Campbell, wife Susan and children, Lauren and Conor. Diane was married to Ivan Gorsuch for over 20 years. In the last two and one half years Diane's partner in life was Dennis Sichewski with whom she had a very loving and close relationship. Diane was a devoted mother, grandmother, wife, partner, sister and friend to many. Diane was a very special human being. Her selflessness, compassion and acceptance of others was never ending. Her energy was remarkable, and took her and others through some very trying times. Diane affected many people around her.Diane was a beautiful, loving person who was taken away from us under extremely tragic circumstances. In her walk through life she gave radiance and love to all she touched. Diane worked in the banking system for almost 40 years. At 16 years of age Diane went to work as a bank teller to help support her family after the tragic loss of her father. Diane throughout her life was a lover of art in all forms. She surrounded herself with a beautiful art collection, and supported and encouraged many in their art works. Diane loved beautiful music, and meeting and experiencing communities and people through her travels. A memorial service and celebration of Diane's life will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, February 7, at St Andrews Church, 2700 Portage Ave., Winnipeg, MB. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. We sincerely appreciate and thank the nursing staff and pastoral support at Grace Hospital, Winnipeg for their warmth and loving care of Diane.

SYLVIA HAMILTON (nee BRADY) February 12, 1921 - February 5, 2003 Peacefully at Donwood Manor on February 5, 2003, Sylvia, beloved wife of Edward Hamilton passed away at the age of 81 years. Besides her husband Edward, Sylvia leaves to cherish her memory her children, Doreen (Ben) Klein, Margaret (Ken) Farley, Ted (Wendy) Hamilton all of Winnipeg, MB, Nancy (Rob) Friesen of Saskatoon, SK, Catherine Hamilton (Mal Rawlings) of Toronto, ON; also 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Lily Gray of Penticton, BC, Madeline Dreilick of Winnipeg and Dorothy Schultz of Vernon, TX; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Sylvia was predeceased by her parents; brother Walter; and sisters, Ruth Schulz and Eleanor Andrew. Sylvia was born in Winnipeg. Ed and Sylvia met at a dance in 1941 and were married that same year. They shared their love of dancing, old time and square dancing for many years. Most of their married lives were spent living in East Kildonan. They moved to Woodlands in 1983 and lived there for a time before moving back to Winnipeg. Sincere appreciation to the wonderful staff at Donwood Manor 2N for their exceptional care of Sylvia. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 8 at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Glen Eden Funeral Home, 4477 Main St. In lieu of flowers donations in Sylvia's memory may be made to Alzheimer Society of Manitoba, 120 Donald St., Winnipeg, MB R3C 4G2. LESLIE WILLIAM FRANKLIN JEMPSON Peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2003 at Extendicare Oakview Place, Les passed away at the age of 87 years. Les was a gentle and loving man who is survived by his wife of 61 years Amelia; their daughters, Debbie (Cary), Darlene, Lorna (Ken); grandchildren, Tina, Tim, Jean, Jill, Lauren, Angela, Joelle; great-grandchild Halle. Born and raised in Winnipeg, Les lived his entire life in Winnipeg except four years spent in Vancouver while in the Armed Forces. He enjoyed working as a letter carrier for 42 years and his retirement of the last 26 years. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, February 8, at Neil Bardal Inc., 984 Portage Ave., Aubrey Street entrance. Earl was a longtime resident of the Crescentwood Community, as well as a valued employee of Manitoba Hydro. Wake services will be held on Friday, February 7 and on Saturday, February 8 at 7:30 p.m. both evenings.
