D. JEAN WINCHAR (nee CLAY) Suddenly, at her home, on Friday, December 7, 2001, our Mother was called to take her rightful place in Heaven with the Lord. She leaves to cherish her memory, her four children and their spouses, Judy and Pat Unrau, Craig and Leslie Winchar, Karen and Bob Alliban of Calgary, and Randy and Lorraine Winchar; and their father Andrew Winchar. Mother was born on October 14, 1931 to Frank and Mary Clay. She grew up to be an extremely family oriented person who spent most of her time raising her children. As her children grew older, Mom branched out and started a kindergarten in her home. Later in life, Mother spent much time as a volunteer with the Age and Opportunity Centre. She also acted as a volunteer counsellor for the "Older Victims Service Unit", and spent a number of years in square dancing, and playing bridge, but her prime concern was always her family, especially the little ones. Always there for birthdays, band concerts and graduations, always there to babysit when needed. Mom was much loved and appreciated not just by family but by all who knew her. She will be sorely missed. Visitation will take place on Thursday, December 13 from 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. in the Leatherdale Gardiner Funeral Chapel, 1858 Portage Avenue. Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 14 at 1:00 p.m., also in the chapel. Interment will be held at a later date in Brookside Cemetery. We give our loved ones back to God And just as He did not lose them in the giving So we have not lost them In returning them to him For life is immortal, love is eternal Death is only a horizon And a horizon is nothing but The limit of our earthly sight. Mom, We love you and miss you. LEATHERDALE GARDINER 1858 Portage Avenue 949-4872
