Timothy Philip Brenan
1968 - 2013

Tim Brenan passed away, unexpectedly in New Westminster, BC, on Friday, July 26, 2013. He was born in Saint John on January 15, 1968, the son of William Brenan and the late Patricia (McGarrity) Brenan.

Tim is survived by his wife, Mary and son, Roy of New Westminster, his father, brother, Dan and sister, Kathleen, brother - in - law, Gordon Thomas, all of Saint John. Also survived by his aunt, Margaret McGarrity of St. Stephen and Aunt Rose and Uncle Ed LeBlanc of St. Andrews and several cousins.

At the family’s request, there will be no visitation. A private interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery in Saint John at a later date. The family requests that donations may be made in Tim’s memory to Mindcare NB or to the SPCA, would be appreciated. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John (634 - 1965).

James A. Robins
1933 - 2013

Robins, James A. The death of James "Jim" Alexander Robins of Saint John occurred on Monday, July 29, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. He was born in Saint John on June 6, 1933 and was a son of the late Alexander and Helen Robins. Jim worked as a Longshoreman for most of his life until his retirement.

Jim is survived by his wife; Elizabeth "Betty" Robins, children; Robert, Pat, Florence, and Audrey, one brother, George and one sister, Audrey, as well as several step - children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

At Jim’s request there will be no visitation. Following cremation, a Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at 12:10 PM from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John (634 - 1965).

John M. Owens
1959 - 2013

It is with great sadness that the family of John Owens of Saint John announces his passing on July 31, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital at the age of 53 years.

John is survived by his mother, Margaret, his son, Jay, his daughter, Joanne and grandchildren. Also survived by his sisters; Sherry, Kelly, and Stacey, his brothers; Kevin, and Tommy.

He was predeceased by his father, Joe and his brother, James. John will be missed forever by his family.

Following cremation, a graveside service will be held on Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 11:00 AM at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John (634 - 1965).

Richard James Moran

Richard James Moran passed away quietly at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, PEI, on July 30, 2013. Richard was the son of the late John T. Moran and Rena E. (O’Brien) Moran from Saint John, NB.

Rick graduated from St. Malachy’s Memorial High School and attended Saint Francis Xavier University. Following university, Rick began in the food industry, working at the Ponderosa, and concluded a fulfilling career working with the Department of Veteran’s Affairs.

Rick is survived by his beloved Brigette and children; Billy, Melinda, Scotty and Melanie, his brothers; Keven, Tommy, Timmy, sisters; Zona, Jeanne, and Terry, six grandchildren, four nephews, and six nieces.

Rick was known for his genuine interest in people and loved his hobby, wine making. He loved the beach and travelling. He loved wintering in Florida and walking the beach. Rick had the ability to make friends easily and keep them forever, his friendship was genuine. Everyone’s life that he touched will surely miss him. He will be remembered with great love and fondness by his family and friends.

Resting at Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John, (634 - 1965) with visiting on Friday from 2:00 – 7:00 PM. Funeral Service will take place on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 1:00 PM from Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment to take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Edmond Joseph Savoy
1926 - 2013

The death of Edmond Joseph Savoy of Saint John, husband of the late, Eileen (Malley) Savoy, occurred on Monday, August 5, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born on May 18, 1926, in Chatham, NB, he was the son of the late Basil and Margaret (Vautour) Savoy.

He enjoyed music and playing the mouth organ.

Edmond is survived by his daughters; Shirley Aspen (John) of Saint John and Eva Feddery of Saint John, his sister; Margaret Howe (Benjamin) of Saint John and five grandchildren, four great - grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides his wife, Edmond was predeceased by his sister, Mary Harris, and Eva Savoy and his brothers; Albert, and Edward.

Resting at Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John (634 - 1965) with visiting on Thursday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be held from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Friday, August 9, 2013 at 12:10 PM. Interment to take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery. For those who wish, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer’s Society, would be appreciated.

Donald Frederick Horgan
1931 - 2013

The family and friends of Donnie are saddened at his passing after a long and very courageous battle with the complications of diabetes. Donnie died at the Loch Lomond Villa, Saint John on Friday, August 9, 2013.

Born at Saint John in 1931, he was a son of the late Daniel Joseph Horgan and Beatrice Mary (King) Horgan. He was born at the family homestead on the Churchland Road, and lived for many years in that same area which he loved so well. Hunting, fishing, gardening and enjoying a beer with good friends and neighbours gave this man happiness and contentment his whole life.

Donnie was predeceased by his loving wife and best friend Mary (McLaughlin). Survived by his sons Gary and Shane (grandsons Justin and Devon) as well as by his brothers Murray (Rae), Daniel and Noel (Margie). In addition to his wife and parents he was predeceased by brothers: Harold, Ken, Cyril and sisters Doris, Rita, Winnifred, Eileen and Beatrice.

Donnie worked his whole life as a respected chef at the Saint John General Hospital , retiring from Ridgewood Veterans Wing. For many years he was a dedicated member of the Armed Forces Reserves.

Resting at Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John, (634 - 1965) with visiting on Sunday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, August 12, 2013 from St. Joseph’s Church, 4347 Loch Lomond Road, at 11:00 AM followed by a reception at the Hope Centre and internment at St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Golden Grove.

Irvine Hebert
1919 - 2013

Hebert Irvine John - The death of Irvine Hebert of Saint John occurred on Friday, August 9, 2013 at Ridgewood Veterans Wing at the age of 93. He was born in McNamee, NB on December 10, 1919 and was the son of the late Adelphi and Clara Hebert and husband of the late Joan (Garnett) Hebert. Irvine was employed with Continental Cans for approximately 25 years. He enjoyed all types of music and playing several instruments. Irvine was an Army Veteran and belonged to Legion Branch #69. He is the last surviving member of his immediate family. He is survived by his sister in law, Elsie Garnett, several nieces and nephews as well as his cat companion Tiger.

Resting at Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John (634 - 1965) with visiting on Monday, August 12, 2013 from 2 - 4pm and 6 - 8pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 at 12:10 PM from the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception. Interment will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery. Remembrances made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or to Ridgewood Veterans Wing would be appreciated by the family.

Tammy Susan Burnside
1977 - 2013

After a period of failing health, Tammy Susan Burnside passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on August 21, 2013.

Born on August 31, 1977, she was the daughter of Terry Burnside and the late Kathy Darrah. In the early part of her life, Tammy lived in hospital and at the William F. Roberts School. For the last 26 years of her life, Tammy was the special foster daughter of Jane and Pat Palmer of Rothesay.

Besides her mother, Tammy was predeceased by her sister, Lisa.

A very special thank you is extended to Dr. Lisa Sutherland and Dr. Joanne Fellows as well as all of Tammy’s nurses at the Regional Hospital and the staff at Turnbull Nursing Home, where Tammy went for respite care.

By request of the family, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John (634 - 1965).

Phyllis Mary Theresa Shephard
1926 - 2013

The death of Phyllis M. T. Shephard of Saint John, wife of the late, William Shephard, occurred peacefully surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 18, 2013 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.

Phyllis was born in Saint John, she was a daughter of the late Leo and Elizabeth (Love) Shannon.

Besides her parents, and husband she was predeceased by a sister, Greta Sweet and infant brother, Leo.

Phyllis was a loving mother and grandmother to her four sons; Kevin, William Jr., Brent (Mary) and Ken, grandchildren; Nicholas, Justin, Jessica, Sara and Simon.

At the family’s request there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Wednesday August 28, 2013 at 12:10. Remembrances may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo Street, Saint John, (634 - 1965).
