M. Gertrude O’Brien
The death of Miss M. Gertrude O’Brien of Rocmaura Nursing Home occurred at her residence on Friday, January 17, 2003 following a period of failing health. Miss O’Brien was born in Saint John, a daughter of the late John T. and Mary Anne (Holland) O’Brien. She had been employed with Commercial Union Assurance Company of Canada and Armstrong and Bruce Insurance for many years until her retirement. She was a member of the Catholic Women’s League and St. Joseph’s Hospital Auxillary. She was pre - deceased by her sister, Miss Geraldine O’Brien of Saint John.
Resting at Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., from where the funeral will be held on Monday afternoon at 1:30 to St. Rose de Lima Church for Mass of Christian Burial at two o’clock. Entombment will take place in Fernhill Vault. Interment will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery in the spring. Visiting on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9.
Raymond J. Buckley
The death of Raymond J. Buckley of Ridgewood Veterans’ Wing, husband of the late Doreen (MacLean) Buckley originally of Charlottetown and Kensington, P.E.I., occurred at his residence on Thursday, May 29, 2003, following a period of failing health.
Mr. Buckley was born in Sussex in 1918, a son of the late Ervine and Susannah (Purtill) Buckley. He was pre - deceased by two brothers, Vincent and Victor; and four sisters, Geraldine McMackin, Marion Sweetman, Roberta Butler, and Marjorie Mackin. He served overseas with the R.C.A.F. during the Second World War and retired from service after thirty years. Following his retirement, he worked in various security positions in Hamilton, Ont. for a number of years, before returning to Saint John in 2001. He is survived by one brother, Ervine Buckley (Alberta) of Saint John; one sister, Joan McQuoid (William) of Fredericton; and several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., from where the funeral will be held on Monday morning at 9:30 to St. Rose de Lima Church for Mass of Christian Burial at ten o’clock. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Indian River, P.E.I., on Monday afternoon at four o’clock. Visiting on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
Mary S. “Maisy” Aucoin
The death of Mary S. “Maisy” Aucoin of 170 Princess St., widow of Arthur Aucoin, occurred at her residence on Friday, May 16, 2003. Mrs. Aucoin was born in Glace Bay, N.S., a daughter of the late John and Mary Jane (Ryan) O’Connell, and had resided the greater part of her life in Saint John. She had been employed as a Nurse’s Aid in the nursery at St. Joseph’s Hospital for over 20 years. She was pre - deceased by an infant daughter, Lois Ann; a brother, John Thomas O’Connell; and a sister, Kathleen Buckley. She is survived by her companion of 30 years, James Bradford; two sons, Ronald A. Aucoin of Saint John, and Daniel S. Aucoin (Denise) of Rothesay; five daughters Eileen B. Elliott (Frederick) of Brighton, Mich., Audrey M. Murray (Joe) of Saint John, “Dianne” Elizabeth Aucoin of Ottawa, M. Katherine “Kathy” Mace of Australia, and Marilyn F. Teehan (Eric) of Advocate Harbour, N.S.; 17 grandchildren; and several great - grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

M. Bernadette FitzPatrick
The death of M. Bernadette FitzPatrick of 55 Magazine St., widow of David G. FitzPatrick, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, May 27, 2003, following a brief illness.
Mrs. FitzPatrick was born in Saint John, a daughter of the late John and Teresa (O’Brien) Sullivan. She graduated from St. Vincent’s Girls High School in 1924 and the Provincial Normal School in 1925. She taught in country schools and at St. John the Baptist School for several years prior to her marriage in June of 1940. She taught at St. Vincent’s Girls High School from 1958 until 1968. She enjoyed her many friends and playing bridge at the Fundy Duplicate Bridge Club. However, her main pre - occupation was her family.
She was pre - deceased by three sisters, Madeline A. Sullivan, Miriam M. Walsh, and Katherine T. Wasson. She is survived by two daughters, Nora “Nonie” Cullinan and her husband Don, of Saint John, and Mary C. T. Ryan of Halifax; six grandchildren, Donald Cullinan and his wife, Tammy of Saint John, Catherine Cullinan of Boston, Maureen Cullinan of Fredericton, Courtney Cullinan of Saint John, Carey Ryan of Ann Arbor, Mich., and Jeffrey Ryan of Halifax; and several nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews.

Isabella T. Gagne
The death of Isabella T. Gagne of 14 King Square South, widow of Henry Gagne, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, May 25, 2003.
Mrs. Gagne was born in Montreal, a daughter of the late Joseph and Bernice (Ely) Lundrigan, and had resided in Saint John since 1994.
She is survived by one son, Gerald (Helen) of Hampton; one daughter, Shirley Dixon of London, Ont.; and nine grandchildren.
Memorial Service will be held at Fitzpatrick’s Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., on Wednesday afternoon at two o’clock.
Patricia H. Martin
The death of Patricia H. Martin of St. John & St. Stephen Nursing Home, widow of James G. Martin, occurred at her residence on Thursday, May 8, 2003.
Mrs. Martin was born in Saint John, a daughter of the late John and Alice (Russell) Brady. She was pre - deceased by a son, Colin “Dutchie” Doyle; and a daughter, Josephine Boggs. She is survived by seven grandchildren; and several great - grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Jean C. Thibodeau
The death of Mrs. Jean C. Thibodeau of 17 Topeka St., wife of Bernard J. Thibodeau, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, May 13, 2003.
Mrs. Thibodeau was born in Advocate Harbour, N.S., a daughter of the late Malvin and Helen (Kelly) Milbury, and had resided in Saint John for over sixty years. She was pre - deceased by a son, Charles. Besides her husband, she is survived by one daughter, Jean Tighe of Milford, N.H.; one brother, Rev. Charles Milbury of Halifax; two grandchildren, Mark and Marlene Tighe; and several nieces and nephews.

Edna May LeBlanc
The death of Edna May LeBlanc, of Main St., Sussex, widow of Alfred J. LeBlanc, occurred at the Sussex Health Center on Sunday June 15, 2003.
Born in Bedworth, England, she was a daughter of the late John Henry and Mary (Geary) Golby. She was predeceased two sons, Frederick and John; one brother, and two sisters. She is survived by three daughters, Rita Jeffers of Sussex, Janet, Mrs. Robert King of Saint John, and Patricia, Mrs. Corey Desruisseau of East Scot Settlement; eight grandchildren; six great - grandchildren,and one great - great - grandchild.

Caroline M. Goguen
The death of Caroline M. Goguen, wife of Roger J. Goguen, occurred at Loch Lomond Villa on Friday, October 14, 2005. Mrs. Goguen was born in Petit Rocher, a daughter of the late Charles and Hectorine (Comeau) Frenette, and had resided the greater part of her life in Saint John. She was pre - deceased by one brother Cleo Frenette; and two sisters, Jeannette Fournier and Rita Boudreau. Besides her husband, she is survived by one son, David Goguen (Colleen) of Saint John; one daughter, Jeannette Goguen (David Braman) of Hoyt; four sisters, Leda Doucet (Rene), Blondine Legace, Noella Legace, and Reina Frenette, all of Petit Rocher; two grandchildren, Rob McCormack (Kim) and Gina Fifield (Paul); and one great - granddaughter, Emma Fifield.
