L. Doreen (MacDonald) Hay
The death of L. Doreen Hay, (MacDonald) of Froude, Sask occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Saturday, November 29th, 2003. She was the daughter of the late Victoria Pearson and Neil MacDonald of Sask.
Devoted wife of Norm (NB), cherished mother of Chris (NB) and Gerri and Rich Brennan of On; the loving grandmother of Jen Williams and Raisa Brennan.
She was the youngest sister of Archie (deceased, and Melvina of Sask, Ken (deceased) and Wilma of BC, Gib (deceased) and Belle (deceased) of BC, Opal and Buzz Keturkis (deceased) and Slim Wilks (deceased) of Sask, Minerva (deceased) and Bill Bossenberry (deceased) of Sask, Bertha and Jim (deceased) Rose of Sask, and Loll and Chuck (deceased) Dammann of Sask; beloved aunt of twenty nieces and nephews; sister in law of Georgina (deceased) of Michigan, Gord and Marg of On, and Marg of On and seven nieces and nephew.
Norm was Royal Canadian Navy and married life began in British Columbia, then on to Nova Scotia, to Ontario and finally New Brunswick. Upon retirement Doreen was able to spend more time on family, friends, and her love of nature, gardening and her dogs.

There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at Pine Grove United Church on Saturday, December 6th, 2003 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Margie Patterson will officiate. Interment will be in the Pine Grove United Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Arthritis Society would be appreciated by the family.
Arthur Delbert McNutt
The death of Arthur Delbert McNutt of Upper Gagetown, NB, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Saturday, November 29th, 2003. Born in Kentville, NS, he was the son of the late Thomas and Marjorie (Baird) McNutt, the husband of the late Erika (Mau) McNutt.
Survived by two sons, Delbert and Donald McNutt of Upper Gagetown, NB; one daughter, Erika Ann McNee (Christopher) of Lakeville Corner, NB, two brothers, Murray McNutt of Guelph, ON, and Bligh McNutt of Kentville, NS, two sisters, Phyllis Early of Guelph, ON and Harriett Kindness of Sault Saint Marie, ON.
Predeceased by his parents, wife Erika and brothers and sisters.
There will be no visitation by request. A memorial service will be held at Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2003 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Richard Durrett will officiate. Margaret Arline Bennett
The death of Margaret Arline Bennett of Oromocto, NB, occurred at the Halifax Infirmary, Halifax, NS on Monday, December 1st, 2003. Born in Middleton, NS, she was the daughter of Leo and the late Geraldine (Moore) Seaman, and the wife of Roy Bennett.
Survived by her husband Roy; one daughter, Tracy Roy (Mike) of Geary, NB; two grandchildren, Emily and Tristen Roy; three brothers, Roy Northrup (Joan) of Windsor, ON, Jack (Chris) Seaman of Coleharbour, NS and Jerry Seaman (Wendy) of Westfield, NB; three sisters, Patricia Banks of Grand Bay Westfield, Jane Mahar of Grand Bay Westfield, and Janet Wells (Alan) of Grand Bay, Westfield.
Predeceased by her mother Geraldine, two daughters, Charlene and Brandi.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Thursday, December 4th, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A memorial service will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, December 5th, 2003 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Greg Sparkes will officiate. Interment will be in the Burton Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial tributes made to the New Brunswick Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
Joseph Jason Hayes
Joe Hayes passed away December 1, 2003 at the Oromocto Public Hospital.
Born in Shigawake, Québec, he was the son of the late Henrietta (Carson) and Almond Hayes.
He was predeceased by his wife Dorothy Hayes (Banks).
Joseph Hayes was a retired member of the Canadian Armed Forces and served in the Royal Regiment of the Canadian Artillery from 1954-1976. Joe worked hard his entire life and will be fondly remember for his kind and gentle spirit.
He is survived by two brothers; Elton Hayes and Lorne Hayes, his seven children; Carla Ross, Diane Campbell, Jason Hayes, Janice MacDougall, John Hayes, Shirley Carnahan and Tammy Bilodeau, thirteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and countless friends.
Resting at Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago Street with visitation on Thursday, December 4th, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm with a tribute service being held by the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #93 on Thursday at 7:00 pm. A memorial service will take place on Friday, December 5th, 2003 at 2:00 pm at Christ Church Cathedral, corner of Brunswick and Church Street, Fredericton, NB. Dean Keith Joyce officiating. A reception will follow at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #93 on the Restigouche Road in Oromocto. Interment will be held in Shigawake, Quebec on Sunday, December 7th, 2003.
Donations are requested in lieu of flowers and the family has suggested donations be made to the Oromocto Public Hospital, the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the New Brunswick Lung Association or the Canadian Cancer Society.
Frederick Earl Christian “Ted” Hudson
Frederick E. C. Hudson “Ted” of Geary, NB died peacefully at his home on Thursday, December 4th, 2003. Born November 18th, 1931 in Grand Falls, NB he was the son of the late John and Doris (Sloat) Hudson and husband of Margaret Ann (Langevin) Hudson.
Ted served in the Canadian Armed Forces from 1949 – 1974 and retired as a MWO in the PERI trade. He later worked as the administrator for the UNB Student Union. He was also a researcher for the NB Drug and Alcohol Commission.
He was a member of the St. Vincent de Paul Parish in which he served in many capacities. He was a 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus and a lifetime member of the Gage Golf Club, and past Governor.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret; six sons, Doug (Johanne), Patrick (Shih Shu), Monty (Gina), Ricky, Larry, Billy (Maiko) and one daughter, Kathy McPherson (Dave); twelve grandchildren, Issac, Julia, Chris, Danielle, Aaron, Teddy, Annie, Justin, Jené, Randi, William, Brooklyn and his faithful companion Barty the dog; brothers and sisters, Jack (Eunice), Eleanor Pirie, Ralph (Bette), Gene (Cheryl), Gerald (Shirley), Margaret MacAllister (Arnold), Dorothy Reimer (Bruce) and Douglas (Maxine).
He was predeceased by his parents, John and Doris and one son, Bob.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Saturday, December 6th, 2003 from 7-9 pm and Sunday, December 7th, 2003 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. The St. Vincent de Paul Knights of Columbus will hold a tribute service on Sunday evening at 8:00 pm at the funeral home. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 11:00 am on Monday, December 8th, 2003 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church. Interment will be held in the adjoining church cemetery. For those who wish, memorial tributes made to the Canadian Cancer Society or St. Vincent de Paul Building Fund would be appreciated by the family.
Grace Mildred Swallow
The death of Grace Mildred Swallow of Oromocto, NB, occurred at home on Wednesday, December 10th, 2003. Born in Middleboro, NS, she was the daughter of the late Earl and Mable (Seaman) Montrose, the wife of Kenneth Swallow.
Survived by her husband, Kenneth, one daughter, Gloria Dobson of Oromocto; one grandson, Larry Dobson; three great-grandchildren, Matthew Fugard, Dana and Taylor Dobson; one brother, Donald Montrose (Joan) of Batawa, ON.
Predeceased by her parents, one grandson, Michael Dobson, three brothers, Ernest, Percy and Truman
There will be no visitation or service by request. Interment will be in Riverside Cemetery, Wallace River, NS at a later date. Gladys Ethelyn VanBuskirk
The death of Gladys Ethelyn VanBuskirk occurred at White Rapids Manor, Fredericton Junction on Wednesday, December 10th, 2003. Born in Lower Jemseg, April 17th, 1902, she was the daughter of the late John and Alida (Williams) VanBuskirk . Gladys was a School Teacher by profession. She is survived by a niece, Shirley Marr (Cedric) of Fredericton and special friend Barbara Cruickshank of Oromocto. She was predeceased by her father and mother, two sisters, Garda and Mabel, and one brother, Caswell.
There will be no visitation by request. The funeral service will be held at St. James Anglican Church, Lower Jemseg on Saturday, December 13th, 2003 at 2:00 PM. Rev. Brenda McKnight will officiate. Interment will take place in St. James Anglican Church Cemetery. For those who wish, memorial tributes made to St. James Anglican Church or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated. George Cyril Sark
The death of George Cyril Sark of Oromocto First Nation died suddenly on Sunday, December 14th, 2003. Born in Oromocto, NB, he was the son of Gerald and Valerie (Nash) Sark; and soul mate of Karen Clifford.
Survived by his parents; soul mate, Karen; three children Joey Sark, Madison Sark and Jessica Scott; one sister, Anne Louise; one brother, Phillip (Kim) and several aunts and uncles.
Predeceased by one brother, Bubba.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Tuesday, December 16th, and Wednesday December 17th, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Thursday, December 18th, 2003 at 11:00 am. Rev. Ken Weir will officiate. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Perry James Sabattis
The death of Perry James Sabattis of Oromocto First Nation died suddenly at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, December 14th, 2003. Born in Fredericton, NB, he was the son of Jacqueline Sabattis, and Jervais Mallet; soul mate of Tashia Sacobie.
Survived by his parents; step mother Cathy; two children, Dustin and Chandler at home; two sisters, Jessie Lynn Sabattis and Shelby Lynn Polchies; one brother, John Polchies; godparents, Wilfred Sabattis and Darlene Buchanan; one chosen sister, and brother, Virginia Sabattis and D.J. Verner; two step sisters, Chantel Polchies and Amanda Foster; one step brother, Tony Foster; aunts, Rose Anne (Harold) and Cathy; uncles, Wilfred (Cynthia), Robert (Beverley), Wallace, Floyd, Gordon, Dave uncle by marriage; great aunts and great uncles of Kingsclear, NB; several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his grandparents, Ambrose and Doreen Sabattis; three uncles.
Visitation will be held at the home on 14 Moccasin Lane Apt #4 on Thursday and Friday, December 18th, & 19th. The funeral service will be held St Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on Saturday, December 20th, 2003 at 11:00 am. Rev. Ken Weir will officiate. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery.
