McElman, Caleb Donald The death of Caleb Donald McElman, infant child of David A. and Lisa V. (McCaskill) McElman, born on March 1, 2001, occurred on March 22, 2001, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Besides his parents he is survived by his twin-sister Sydney Rae, His maternal grandparents Catherine and Roy McCaskill of Quispamsis, his paternal grandparents Joyce and Don McElman of Quispamsis, his great-grandparents Evelyn and Sterling Mercer of Hampton, his uncle Mark, his aunt Katie, his godparents Sandra and Chris McCavour and Ethel and Tom McGrath.
Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting from 6-9 PM on Friday and after 12:00 Noon on Saturday. The funeral service will be celebrated on Saturday, March 24, 2001, at 1:30 PM, from Brenan’s Chapel, with Rev. Joseph Cochrane officiating. Following cremation interment will take place at St., Luke’s Cemetery, at a later date. Remembrances made to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
Etta Pearl (Foster) Maber
The death of Mrs. Etta Pearl (Foster) Maber, wife of the late Harold J. Maber, of Somerset Street, Saint John, NB, occurred on Monday, March 19, 2001 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Agnes (Northrup) Foster. Etta was formerly a seamstress, and was formerly employed as a manager of a local shoe store. She was also formerly employed with a chocolate factory. Etta enjoyed to crochet, knit, and read, and also enjoyed playing cards, especially 45’s. She is survived by two daughters, Sandra (Peter) Simpson and Patricia (Barry) Leger, both of Saint John, three sons, Ken (Sandra) Maber of Eden, NY, Doug Maber of Ottawa, and William (Bill) Maber of British Columbia, one daughter-in-law, Florence Maber of Rothesay, one brother, James (Pauline) Foster of Saint John, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren, as well as many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one son, Donald Maber.

Funeral service will be held on Thursday, March 22, 2001 at 11 AM from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will be in the spring at Old Cedar Hill Cemetery. The family would appreciate remembrances to the Canadian Cancer Society.
CHARLOTTE REMONA (MONA) ALLISON
The death of Charlotte Remona Allison, of Ellerdale Street, wife of the late Philip S. Allison occurred on March 17, 2001 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Montreal the daughter of the late William & Mary (McCubbin) Davis. Mona was a member of St. James the Less Anglican Church and their ACW. She did volunteer work at the Saint John Regional Hospital receiving a pin for donating 5000 hours. She is survived by her two sons Philip J. (Caroll Hennessy) Allison, Peter (Brenda Losier) Allison; one daughter Heather Allison of Toronto; one brother Jim (Eunice) Davis of Victoria, BC; one sister Catherine Devenny of Whitby, On; grandchildren Jennifer (Terry) Wilson, Brian (Lisa) Allison, Scott (Chiyoko) Allison; great grandchildren Terrance, Shekinah, Amanda; and niece, Margaret Doucherty of Whitby, On. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by one sister, Evelyn Belyea.

Marie Adeline Rita (Caissie) McGrath
The death of Marie Adeline Rita (Caissie) McGrath formerly of Duke Street occurred on Friday March 16, 2001 at the Loch Lomond Villa Inc. Rita was born in Bathurst NB, she was employed by McCready’s Pickle Factory, New System Laundry and in several restaurants in Saint John, she enjoyed TV, country music, embroidery, knitting, bingo and belonged to a senior’s group. She is survived by two sons Gerald Caissie of Ontario, Doug Caissie of Nova Scotia, six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her first husband William Kennedy, one son Francis and one daughter Dorothy Ramsay.
By request of the family there will be no funeral home visitation, a memorial service will be held on Tuesday, March 20, 2001 from Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel at 10 AM. Interment in Fernhill Cemetery. Remembrances may be made to the charity of the donors choice. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506-634-7424).
Victor L.N. Haig
March 14, 2001
The death of Mr. Victor L.N. Haig of Saint John East, husband of Brenda G. (Marr) Haig, occurred on Wednesday, March 14, 2001, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Montreal, PQ, he was the son of the late Harry and Blanche (LeBlanc) Haig.
Victor was a veteran of World War II, serving overseas with the Canadian Army. He was a member of the R.C.R and the Rifle Association and a former member of the # 69 Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. Mr. Haig was a Chef with Canadian Coast Guard and served on the Walter E. Foster and with the Corps. of Commissionaires.
Besides his wife, he is survived by three sons, Kim Hage, Robin Hage both of Alberta and Christopher Hage one daughter, Nicola at home, step-daughter, Paula Kemp of Saint John, one sister, Dorothy Frost of Montreal, PQ, several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one son, Tony Hage and one sister Elaine.

Mrs. Frances Emerice (Thibault) Carr

The death of Mrs. Frances Emerice (Thibault) Carr wife of Roy J. Carr occurred on Sunday, February 18,2001 at the Loch Lomond Villa Inc.
Born in Digby Nova Scotia she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Viola (Winchester) Thibault.
Frances was a loving wife and mother, she was a member of TOPS and St. Patrick’s Church Choir in Digby Nova Scotia.
Besides her husband she is survived by three sons Donald, Roy (Joe) (Leatha) and Paul all of Saint John, five daughters Mrs. Linda (Eric) Doiron, Mrs. Joanne (Steven) Thompson, Ms. Paula Corkum all of Saint John, Mrs. Theresa (Terry) (Louis) Gorman of Moncton, NB, and Mrs. Dawn (Randall) Harris of St. Stephen NB, one brother Raymond Thibault of Shelburne NS, one sister Florence Thibault of Jacksonville Florida, twenty grandchildren and one great grandchild, several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents she is predeceased by one son Stephen Douglas Carr, one brother Frederick and one sister in law Ellen Thibault.

A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Joseph’s Church Loch Lomond on Thursday, February 22,2001 at 10 AM. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Yvonne Mary Daigle
The death of Yvonne Mary Daigle, wife of the late Charles Joseph Daigle, occurred on February 26, 2001, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Caraquet, NB, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Justin (Gionet) Hebert. She had been employed with M&M Home, Rocmaura Nursing Home and the Old General Hospital. She was a member of the Cathedral Parish and the Senior’s Club of the City Market. She is survived by her sons James (Suzanne) of Saint John, Leonard of Toronto, ONT, Zelia Aspen (John) of Saint John, Nidia Chiasson of Shippagan, NB, Theresa Evans (Ronald) of Saint John, Jeanette Colpitts (Samuel) of Fredericton, Shirley Doiron (Gerald) of Saint John, her brother Aurele Herbert of Saint John, her sisters Stella Herbert of Toronto, Alice Chamberlain of Saint John, Jeannie LeBotuthliner of Montreal, twenty-two grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Martin and Albert.

Margaret Mary Durning

The death of Mrs. Margaret Mary (Goguen) Durning, wife of the late William Durning, of Victoria Street, Saint John, NB, occurred on Wednesday, February 21, 2001 at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Born at Gallagher Ridge, NB, she was the daughter of the late François and Mary (Chase)Goguen.
Mrs. Durning was formerly employed with the school board. She was a member of St. Pius X Parish. Margaret was an avid Flames hockey fan.
She is survived by one son, James Durning and his wife Rhonda of Saint John, NB, and was a loving grandmother to Christopher and Chase Durning. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a brother, Walter, and two sisters, Laura and Jessie.

JESSIE ANN FINN

The death of Jessie Ann (Yoston) (Knox) Finn wife of the late Andrew Finn and her first husband Harry E. Knox occurred on Sunday, February 25, 2001 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Loggieville, NB., she was the daughter of the late Finley and Mary (McLeod) Yoston. Jessie was employed by Castle Funeral Home, Whitehouse Lodge, Colonial Inn, NB Tel and the Evening Times Globe. She was a member of St. John Baptist (Mission Church) and St. Clement, Mothers Union and Altar Guild. She was given the name "Fiesty" by her caregivers.
She is survived by four sons, Clarence of St. Stephen, D. Karl (Nancy) and Nelson both of Saint John and John (Geraldine) of Westfield, one daughter Jessie (William) Howe of Saint John, thirteen grandchildren, several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is predeceased by one sister-in-law, Sadie.
