Louise P. Armstrong
The death of Louise P. Armstrong, wife of the late Donald (Don) E. Armstrong, occurred on December 16, 2003, at Karrs, NB.
Born in Gagetown, NB, she was the daughter of the late D’Arcy M. and Annie (Stockford) Brown.
She was employed as a C.S.R. at St. Joseph’s Hospital.
She was a woman with a strong faith in God and a deep love of family.
She is survived by her son Byron D. and his wife Sharon of Karrs, NB, her sister Susan Crozier of Millstream, NB, her grandsons Stephen (Angela) and Matthew (Melissa), her great-grandchildren Kristen, Luke and Matthew and several cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her infant son James Armstrong, her sisters Jennie (James) Hamilton, Hester (Ernest) Rathburn, Elizabeth (Joseph) Carreuthers, Mildred (Theodore) Brown, Annie (Fred) Drummond, Dorothy (Eric) Nott, her brothers D’Arcy (Marion) Brown, Harold (Pearl) Brown, Lewis (Edith) Brown, and infant brother Bedford Brown.
Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row (634-7424), with visiting on Wednesday from 7-9 PM and Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM.
The funeral service will be held on Friday, December 19, 2003, at 11:00 AM, from Brenan’s Chapel.
Interment will take place at Brown’s Cemetery, Baines Corner.
Remembrances made to the Charity of choice would be appreciated.
Henry Meinhardt
The death of Henry Meinhardt of Kennebecasis Park, Rothesay, NB, husband of Royce Olga (Toussaint) Meinhardt, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on Tuesday, December 16, 2003.
Born in Montréal, PQ, Henry was the son of the late John M. and Anna Marie (Wickert) Meinhardt and was a resident of this area for most of his life. He was an adherent of St. David’s United Church, Rothesay.
He founded and served as president of Fundy Ventilation Ltd. and owned and operated Security Mechanical Ltd. and G. R. Patstone Ltd.
Henry was an active volunteer in his community, he served as chairman of the Saint John Regional Library and the Saint John Free Public Library Boards.
He was the chairman of the Market Square Corporation from 1987-1995 and a vice-chairman of the Saint John Port Corporation, a past president of the NB Construction Association, a member of the Board of the Canadian Construction Association, Saint John Construction Association, Renforth Community Club, and the Saint John Board of Trade.
He was a charter member of the Kennebecasis Lions Club from 1961-1970 and was honoured by the Saint John Construction Association for his many years of volunteer service.
For the outstanding contributions he made to the community, Henry received the Paul Harris Fellowship Award from the Rotary Club and the Canada 125 Medal.
His brother John predeceased him.
Henry is survived by his wife Royce, one son John Henry, Rothesay, NB, daughter Catherine Ann (L. Ray Smallwood), St. John’s, NL and their children, Melissa Leanne, Amanda Cristen, and Matthew Jonathan Ray Smallwood, his sister-in-law Gloria Meinhardt of Halifax, NS, several nephews and nieces.
Resting at Brenans Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John, NB (506-634-7424). Visitation Thursday and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
The Funeral will be held from St. David’s United Church, Rothesay on Saturday, December 20, 2003 at 10:30 a.m. interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery.
Remembrances may be made to the Saint John Free Public Library, Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of the donors’ choice.
Hazel Florence Dempster
1938 - 2003
The death of Hazel F. (Payne) Dempster, beloved wife and best friend of Ora R. Dempster, occurred on December 17, 2003, at the Saint John Regional Hospital.
Hazel was born June 20, 1938, in Midland, Kings Co., NB, daughter of the late George W. and Edith M. (Almon) Payne.
She lived in Saint John all her life and before her marriage was employed at the Saint John General Hospital.
She went to Carleton-Kirk United Church and was a member of the Mary Neil Unit of the UCW.
She loved being involved in her church.
Survived besides her husband Ora are two sons David Allan of Saint John, Eldon Carl (Lynn) of Quispamsis, two daughters Susan Marie (Gary) Galbraith of Saint John, Sharon Lynn (Allan) Turnell of Quispamsis, three grandchildren Ashley Lauren and Carly Elizabeth Galbraith and Colin Reid Gibson Turnell, two brothers Carl (Joan) Payne and Ronald (Jean) Payne, two brothers-in-law Glen (Roberta) Dempster and Winston Dempster, one sister-in-law Patricia Thompson, one aunt and several nieces and nephews. Her daughter Ruth Ann Dempster and her sister Elizabeth Mable Payne predeceased her.

Florence Mary Pearl Forward
The death of Florence (Duplessis) Forward of Quispamsis, NB, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Wednesday, December, 17th, 2003. Born in Saint John, NB, she was the daughter of Joseph and Elsie (Branscombe) Duplessis.
Florence is survived by three children, Allison and Jonathan Forward, both of Fredericton, NB and Peter Martin Forward of Saint John, NB and their father, Richard Forward; sister, Dianne Searle (Peter), brothers, Robert Duplessis (Christine) and Francis Duplessis (Rosa), all of Saint John, NB; close friend, Donald McQuinn of Quispamsis, NB; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by infant brother, Joseph.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 22nd, 2003 at 10:00 am at St. Peter’s Catholic Church.
Interment will take place in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.

Marion P. Farthing
The death of Marion P. (Berrie) Farthing, of Woodward Avenue, Saint John wife of the late James Harold Farthing, occurred on Tuesday, February 22, 2005 at her residence.
Born in Hillsborough, NB, she was a daughter of the late John and Lillian (Robinson) Berrie.
Marion is survived by one son, John (Karen) Farthing of Saint John; two daughters, Sharen Farthing of Saint John and Shirley O’Connor of Halifax; three grandchildren, Kathi Sheriko, Cyndi Hall and Sean O’Connor; several great-grandchildren. Besides her husband and parents she was predeceased by one sister, Marjorie (“Chick”) Jeffrey.
By request there will be no visiting. A memorial service will be held on Friday, February 25, 2005 from Main St. Baptist Church at 7:00 pm.
Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers remembrances may be made to the Geriatric Unit, St. Joseph’s Hospital.

Thelma Ann McPhee
McPHEE, THELMA A.- The death of Thelma Ann McPhee of 39 Green Haven Lane, Saint John, wife of the late Terence McPhee, occurred peacefully surrounded by those who love her, on Wednesday, February 23, 2005 at the Saint John Regional Hospital following a brief battle with cancer.
Born in Saint John, she was the daughter of the late William H. (Bill) and Ada Elizabeth (Lines) Paget.
Thelma was well known among the bowling community and was a special friend to all those who needed an ear to listen or a shoulder to lean on.
She is survived by one daughter, Kimberley Williams (Larry Pitre) of Saint John, grandsons, Terence (T.C.) Williams and Kristopher Williams, step-children, Anne Wong (Peter) of Saint John, Michael McPhee of Edmonton, AB, Norman McPhee of the NWT and Daniel McPhee of Edmonton, AB, dear friend and caregiver, Karen Keating, four sisters, Irene Wetmore (Fred) of Cody’s, NB, Mary Winchester (Austin) of Saint John, Kathleen Michaelson of Los Angeles, CA and Pauline Lawrence (Garnett) of Saint John, two brothers, Clarence Paget of Saint John and Crandall Paget of Toronto, ON, one aunt, Tinna McNeil of Quispamsis, several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Brenan’s Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424), with visiting on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9, February 24, 2005. Funeral service will be held at Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, February 25, 2005 at 10 AM.
Following cremation, interment will take place at St. Joseph’s Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of New Brunswick would be appreciated.
