Harold B. Steeves

Harold B. Steeves, 85, of Riverview and formerly of Elm Street, Moncton, passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Saturday, February 10, 2001.
Born in Moncton, Harold was the son of the late Moses and Annie (Smith) Steeves. Harold was a former employee of Martime Central Airways and retired from the City of Moncton Engineering Dept. and was a member of Highfield Street United Baptist Church.
Harold will be sadly missed by his wife of 57 years, Vera (Crossman) Steeves; son, Michael (Elaine), Moncton; grandchildren, Angela Conrad (David), Donald and Colin McClure; nephew, Ronald James. Predeceased by one sister, Eudora James.
Resting at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home, 1657 Mountain Road, Moncton (858-1995), no visitation by request. Service at Ferguson Knowles Funeral Home Chapel, Tuesday, February 13, 2001, 10am, Rev. Oley Boyne Steeves

Oley Boyne Steeves, 78, of Salisbury Rd., Moncton, Passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Wednesday February 7, 2001. Born in Moncton, he was the son of the late George (Joe) and Mazie (Lutes) Steeves.
Oley was retired from C.N.R. after 38 years as a Carman, a member of the CN pensioners and he served overseas in WW II with the R.C.A. Calgary Highlanders.
Oley will be sadly missed by his wife Shirley (Steeves) Steeves, Brother Dewey Steeves, Moncton, Sister-In-Law Helen MacDonald, Moncton, Brother-In-Law Orville Steeves (Vera) Saint John’s NFLD, Nieces; Debbie Anderson and Diane Steeves, Nephews; Dewey Steeves (Helen), Richard Steeves (Patti), Mark Steeves (Connie), Steven MacDonald, Danny Steeves (Donna) and David Steeves (Lori).

Harold F. Stewart
Harold Frederick Stewart, 79, of Waverley Ave., Moncton, passed away suddenly at the Moncton Hospital on Friday February 9,2001. Born in Moncton he was the son of the late Robert and Juanita (Simpson) Stewart.
Harold was retired from the Minister of Transport as the fire chief at the Moncton airport. He served overseas in WW II with the R.C.A. Infintry Unit. A member of the Moncton Weleyan Church and the Royal Canadian Legion Moncton Branch #6.
Harold will be sadly missed by his wife June (Keirstead) Stewart, son Michael (Louise), Paradise, NS, Grandchildren; Kyle, Craig and Lindsay, Brother Robert (Myrtle), Moncton, Several Nieces and Nephews.
Harold was predeceased by Sisters June and Hazel.

Ruth Evelyn “Beryl” Balser
Ruth Evelyn “Beryl” (Walpole) Balser 62, of Yale Ave. , Riverview passed away at her residence on Saturday March 24,2001. Born in Windsor, ON, Beryl was the daughter of the late Verne Sr. and Jessie (Bain) Walpole.
Beryl was a retired Registered Nurse, received her RN at Grace Memorial Hospital, Windsor, ON. Her BScN from Western University and her B ED from the UDM, Moncton. Beryl was the first Degree Nurse to work at the Moncton Hospital before she moved to teach at A.J. MacMaster school of Nursing where she taught until her retirement. Beryl was an active member of Parkside Baptist Church. Former Sunday School Teacher and Youth Group leader. She was a former member of the Gideon’s Aux, member of the Compassion Canada involved in Reach for Recovery, member of the Thimbleberry Quilting Club, The Greater Moncton Quilting Guild, The Husquvarna Club and Dept. 56 Village Hoppers.
Beryl will be sadly missed by her husband of over thirty seven years Dean Balser, Sons; David (Gwyneth), Riverview, Scott (Marianne), Springhill, NS, Dwight (Jennifer), Darlings Island, Grandchildren; Sarah, Jesse, McKenzie, Taylor, Sydnee, Kylee, Caleb, Vanessa, Brother Verne Walpole jr. (Mary), Guelph, ON, Brother-in-law Frank Balser (Bertha), Moncton, Three Nephews and two Nieces.
Predeceased by one nephew and one infant brother.

Barbara Jane Baxter
Barbara Jane Baxter, 65 of Shediac Cape, passed away at the Moncton Hospital on Friday March 23, 2001, after a determined fight against cancer. Born in Moncton, Barbara was the daughter of the Late Harold and Frances (MacNevin) Drummond.
Barbara was an active member of Trinity United Church, Shediac, volunteer for the Y.W.C.A., former member of the Y.W.C.A., board of director and very active in the annual Y.W.C.A. Quilt Fair. Former member of the Beaver Curling Club and Pine Needles Golf and Country Club.
Barbara will be sadly missed by her husband of forty years Walter Baxter, Daughters; Brenda Baxter (Jean-Louis Wallace), Ottawa, ON, Diane Baxter Boland, Moncton, Son Michael (Shannon), Clemmons, NC, Grandchildren; Robbie, Sara, Katie, Kyle.

Mildred M. Horsman 85, of Westford Nursing Home, Port Elgin and formerly of Echo Dr, Moncton passed away at her residence on Monday April 2, 2001.
Born in Saint John, Mildred was the daughter of the late William and Maude (Bishop) Whiteley and was a member of Parkside Baptist Church. Mildred will be sadly missed by her daughters, Nellie Lutes (Gary), Norma MacLeod (Robert), Anne Lawson, Moncton; Sons, Garnet (June), Bob (Carol), Randy (Annette) Moncton. 16 Grandchildren, 12 Great Grandchildren.Sister, Hazel White(Bill), Moncton. Brother, Jim Whiteley (Margaret), Moncton. Several Nieces and Nephews. Predeceased by her husband Jack Horsman (1987); Sisters, Helen Bovard, Nora Wallace, Irene Forde; Brother, Earl Bovard.

Harold G. Kay 88, of Spencer Memorial Home and formerly of Barnaby St. Moncton passed away his residence on Friday April 6,2001. Born in Lewisville, Harold was the son of the late Clarence and Bella (Bynon) Kay. Harold was a former foreman with Heber Brown Construction and former employee of Imperial Insurance with thirty years service. Member of Lewisville United Baptist Church, former church trustee and former member of the church Board of Management. Honorary Chairman of the Tellers and Ushers Committee. Honorary life member of the Greater Moncton Planning District Commission (Dec. 16, 1996) after twenty two years service and was former councilor for the village of Lewisville. Harold will be sadly missed by his wife of over sixty nine years, Mildred (Powell) Kay.
Son, Don (Margaret), Moncton. Grandchildren, David (Dorothy), Donna Beers (Dana), Dianne. Great Grandchildren, Amanda, Sarah, Jennifer, Michael. Several Nieces and Nephews. Predeceased by son, Bruce. Brothers, Robert (Red), Ernest. He was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
