Eleanor Peters
The death of Eleanor Peters of Queenstown, NB occurred on Monday, November 11th, 2002 at the Mill Cove Nursing Home. Born in Queenstown, NB, she was the daughter of the late Bentley and Charlotte (Scovil) Peters.
Eleanor was a Nurse for her whole working career, retiring in 1992. She was also the church organist for St. Stephen’s Anglican Church in Queenstown for many years.
Survived by two sisters, Barb (Arnold) Narwood of Gagetown, NB and Frances (Miles) Gordon of Perth, ON.
Predeceased by her parents and one brother, Samuel Leonard Peters.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 13th, 2002 from 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held at St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Queenstown, NB on Thursday, November 14th, 2002 at 2:00 pm. Rev. Gerald Laskey will officiate. Interment to be held in the adjoining church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial tributes made to Oromocto SPCA would be appreciated by the family.
Verda F. Phillips
The death of Verda Phillips formerly of Upper Gagetown occurred on Tuesday, October 29th, 2002 at Bay View Care Home in Lower Karrs, NB.
Born in Geary, she was the daughter of the late Frederick and Effie (Smith) Allan and wife of the late Charles L. Coy and the late Sidney H. Phillips.
Verda was Anglican by faith, and was a Life Member of the Upper Gagetown Women’s Institute.
Survived by three sons, Harry (Annie) Coy of Upper Gagetown, NB, Richard (Vera) Coy of Taymouth, NB and Michael (Mary-Jane) Phillips of Fredericton, NB; three daughters, Jessie (Russell) Briggs of Upper Gagetown, NB, Joyce (Francis) Hinchey of Upper Gagetown, NB and Annette (Ervin) Ellis of Collina, NB; 26 grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren and one sister Ester Scott of Gagetown, NB.
Predeceased by her parents, husbands Charles and Sidney, two daughters Enid and Grace, one son Leonard, two sisters Viola, Lela and one brother Sterling.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Thursday, October 31st, 2002 from 7-9 pm. A private funeral service will be held. Interment to follow in the Upper Gagetown Cemetery. For those who wish memorial tributes made to the Upper Gagetown Women’s Institute or to the charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the family.
Robert Frederick Bischoff
The death of Robert Frederick Bischoff of Oromocto, occurred at the Oromocto Public Hospital on Monday, November 11th, 2002. Born in Athabasca, AB, he was the son of the late Robert and Erika (Uranovic) Bischoff and husband of Gail (Kirkwood) Bischoff.
Robert served in the Military as a Pharmacist for 28 years. He was also worked as a Pharmacist at Shoppers Drugmart in the Fredericton Mall for 14 years.
Survived by his wife, Gail, of Oromocto, NB; one daughter, Jennifer (David) Praught of Stoney Plain, AB; he was the proud grandfather of MacKenzie and Emma; one brother, Victor (Lorainne) of Edmonton, AB; and one sister, Erika Errington of Vancover, BC.
Predeceased by his parents, two daughters Lori-Ann and Pamela.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Monday, November 18th, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm. A funeral service will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday, November 19th, 2002 at 11:00 am. Rev. Margie Patterson will officiate. Raymond Joseph Brochu
The death of Raymond Joseph Brochu of Geary, NB, occurred at Oromocto Public Hospital on Monday, October 28th, 2002. Born in Montreal, PQ the son of the late Adelord and Agnes (Powney) Brochu, the husband of Mavis (Carr) Brochu.
Raymond was a member of the second Battalion of the Black Watch for seven years. He will be sadly missed by both family and friends.
Survived by his wife Mavis, two sons, Tony of Geary, NB, and Peter (Cindy) of Fredericton, NB; one daughter, Stephanie McLaughlin (Joe) of Geary, NB; three grandchildren, Adam and Ashley Brochu of Fredericton, NB and Colby McLaughlin of Geary, NB; one brother, Albert of Toronto, Ontario; sisters- in- law, Joyce Grass (Carl) and Kathleen Boone; brother in law, Lawrence Carr (Elva) and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by four brothers, Sonny, Charlie, Johnny and Leonard, and three sisters, Irene Prevost, Eileen Lancaster and Ida Brochu.
Visitation will be held at Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago Street on Tuesday, October 29th from 7-9 PM and Wednesday, October 30th, from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. Funeral service will be held at the Geary United Pentecostal Church on Thursday, October 31st at 2:00 PM. Pastor Mark Noel officiating and Rev. Robert Foster assisting. Interment will be in the Hazen Carr Cemetery. Margaret "Peggy" Chapman
The death of Margaret Chapman of Lincoln, occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Saturday, October 19th, 2002. Born in Alder Point, Cape Breton the daughter of the late Frederick and Heneritta (Doucet) DeVoe and, wife of the late Maynard Chapman.
Survived by one daughter L. Pauline Chapman; one granddaughter Taylor Braye and her father Wayne Braye; four brothers, Thomas, J. William, Clarence and A.Russell; five sisters, Elsie, Mary Eva, L.Sabina, Della and Mary; stepchildren, Jacqueline Boutilier, Keith Chapman, step-grandchildren, step great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by her parents, her husband Maynard, five brothers, Hubert, Ernest, Elmer, John and Charles, two sisters, Bernetta and Martha.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Monday October 21st, from 2-4 for family and friends and 7-9 PM for public. The funeral service will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Tuesday October 22nd, at 2:00 PM Rev. Harold Hilder will officiate. Interment will be in the Lower Lincoln Cemetery. John Schuttenbeld
The death of John Schuttenbeld of Oromocto occurred at Oromocto Public Hospital on Saturday, October 19th, 2002. Born in Holland he was the son of the late Jan and Siena (Bokdam) Schuttenbeld, he was the husband of Mary (Hagedoorn) Schuttenbeld.
Survived by his wife Mary, one son Chris; one brother, Harry; three sisters, Annie, Ricky, Rinny and their families.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Monday, October 21st, 2002 from 2-4 and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 22nd at St. Vincent de Paul Church at 11:00 AM. Rev Ken Weir officiating. Interment will be in the adjoining cemetery. Douglas Edward Simpson
Douglas Edward Simpson, 56, of Haneytown, NB, went into the arms of his Lord on October 19th, 2002 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Doug was born at Enniskillen, NB, the son of the late Edward and Agnes (McCann) Simpson and worked for the Town of Oromocto Works Department for 35 years.
Doug will be sadly missed by his wife, Lynne (Whiteside); his three children, daughter, Tracey (Shawn) Hamilton of Lincoln, NB; sons, Jim Simpson of Haneytown, NB; and Darrell Simpson of Fredericton, NB; his grandchildren, Morgan, Brendon, Jadyn and Brock; his brother Joe (Evelyn) Simpson of Haneytown, NB; sisters, Barbara (Eugene) Legere, Bernice (Frank) Cashol both of Haneytown, NB, Madeline (Joe) Burton of Oromocto, NB and his many aunts, uncles, neices, nephews and cousins.
There will be no visitation by request. Friends are invited to attend a funeral mass at St Vincent de Paul on October 21st, 11:00am. Rev Ken Weir as celebrant. Interment will be in St Vincent de Paul Cemetery.The family wishes to extend warmest thanks to all, for the love, support and assistance given to them during the past few months. Margaret Ruth Tibbits
The death of Margaret Tibbits of Geary, NB occurred at White Rapids Nursing Home, Fredericton Junction, NB on October 22, 2002. Born January 9, 1926 in Toronto, she was the beloved wife of Maurice Tibbits.
Survived by her husband, her daughters, Sandra (Duane) Boone of Geary, NB, Janice (Brendan) Murphy of Kelowna, BC, Maureen (Cedric) Boone of Grand Bay, NB; her sons, William (Patricia) of Geary, NB and Steven (Hank) of Moncton, NB; grandchildren, Marc, Maurice, Charlotte, Shannon (Nick), Liam, Neil, Cory, Derick, Tyler, Christhoper and Alexander; great-grandchildren, William, Shelby and Andrew; her sister, Beatrice Crawford of Nanimo, BC; her brother, Cecil Burridge of Barrie, ON; special friends, Jean MacDonald and Jill Brown of Oromocto. Russell W. E. Briggs
The death of Russell W.E. Briggs, of Upper Gagetown occurred at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Friday, March 28th, 2003. Born in Upper Gagetown, NB, he was the son of the late Paul and Perle (Bridges) Briggs and husband of Jessie (Coy) Briggs.
Survived by his wife Jessie of Upper Gagetown, NB; one son, Peter (Brenda) of Quispamsis, NB; one daughter, Judy (Mel) Glustien of Ottawa, ON; one granddaughter, three grandsons, one great granddaughter and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held at the Oromocto Select Community Funeral Home on Sunday, March 30th, 2003 from 7-9 pm. Funeral service will be held at the Oromocto Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, March 31st, 2003 at 2:00 pm. Interment will be held in Upper Gagetown Cemetery at a later date. Ronald Gordon Fanjoy
The death of Ronald Gordon Fanjoy of Jemseg, NB, occurred at the George Dumont Hospital Moncton, NB, on Friday, April 4th, 2003. Born on December 8th, 1929 in Mill Cove, NB, he was the son of Ottis and Janie (Thompson) Fanjoy and the husband of Evelyn (Sharpe) Fanjoy.
Survived by his wife, Evelyn; three sons, Leonard (Janet) of Jemseg, Bill (Lenora) of Fredericton, Gerry (Donna) of Calgary, AB, two daughters, Bonnie Young of Jemseg and Peggy Hamilton (Terry) of Woodstock; ten grandchildren, Blake Fanjoy (Tracy), Bradley Fanjoy (Janet), Julie Jeffery (Mike), Craig Young (Fran) Jenna and Carly Fanjoy, Troy and Kyle Fanjoy, Nicholas and Kelsey Hamilton; two great-grandchildren, Malorie and Lauren Jeffery, one brother, Frank of Toronto; three sisters, Garda Farris of Cambridge, NB, Marjorie Perry (Jack) of Cambridege Narrows and Marie DeMerchant (Lawrence) of Bath.
Ronald was predeceased by his parents, one son Arthur son in law Gordon Young; five brothers and two sisters.
