Annette Marie Carpenter, age 62 years, of Moncton, NB passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Sunday, July 9, 2006. Born in Moncton, NB on August 8, 1943 she was the daughter of Auréa Poirier of Moncton and the late Rodoulphe Poirier. She is survived by her husband, Rodney Carpenter; sons, Mike (Shannon) Gauvin, and Dan (Sandra) Gauvin; sister, Cathy (Steve) Vasseur; brothers, Andre Poirier, Ron Poirier, Peter (Suzanne) Poirier, and Joe (Juanita) Poirier; grandchildren, Sarai, Robin, Bree-Anne and Patrick; also by several nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel, 171 Lutz St. Moncton on Wednesday, July 12, 2006 at 1:00 pm. Gérald Michel Allain
1920-2006
On Sunday, July 9th, 2006, at age 85, peacefully passed away Gérald Michel Allain, husband of Éveline Girouard. Born in Neguac and now living in Dieppe, he was the son of the late André Allain and Agnes Rousselle. He is survived by his wife, Éveline (Girouard) Allain; one daughter, Carmel (Laurie Bourque) from Dieppe; one son, Henri (Aline) from Fredericton; one grandson, Mathieu; two brothers: Zoel from Neguac and Jean (Leda) Richardson from Bathurst; three sisters: Isabelle Breault (Laurent) and Agnes, both of Neguac and Beatrice Doiron (Simon) from Bas-Caraquet, along with many nieces and nephews. Gerald was predeceased by four sisters: Josephine, Lorraine, Ovilda and Marie. Mr. Allain served in the Air Force during the Second World War between 1941-45. Throughout his life, he was an active member of his community being a founding member of the Neguac Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 61, serving as secretary-treasurer for 27 years. He strongly believed in the Co-Operative and Credit Union movements serving both as an active member and president of the Tabusintac Co-op and the Caisse Populaire de Neguac. He also was president of the Club des Loisirs St-Bernard of Neguac, member of the board of directors for "La Colombe" Cooperative Funeral Home and numerous organizations in the Miramichi area. Before retiring, he was an employee of the New Brunswick Department of Transportation for 25 years. Mr. Allain's family will be receiving relatives and friends at "Passage" Cooperative Funeral Home, 3750 rte 134, Shediac Bridge (532-1050), passage@nb.aibn.com. Visitation will be held Tuesday between 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm with funeral service taking place at the Ste-Therese Roman Catholic Church in Dieppe on Wednesday July 12th, at 11am. Burial at the Our Lady of Calvary cemetery in Dieppe. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Heart Foundation or the Canadian Kidney Foundation would be appreciated by the family. Ruby Irene Bernard
1910 - 2006
Ruby Irene Bernard, 96 years, of Moncton, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 9, 2006 at Kenneth E. Spencer Memorial Home. Born in Whitneyville, NB on May 9, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Wesley and Marion (Sherrard) Drillen. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. Ruby is survived by two sons, Gordon (Mary) of Moncton and Alan (Carol) of Kentville, NS; one daughter, Linda of Riverview; four granddaughters, Angela MacDonald of Wolfville, NS, Pamela Spinney (Jeff) of Kentville, NS, Sandra Mundle (Neal) of Moncton and Beth Angevine (James) of Florida, USA; one grandson, James Bernard (Greta-Lynn) of Edmonton, Alberta; six great grandchildren, Daniel Belliveau, Sarah, Lisa and Matthew Jones, Emily Mundle and Matthew Spinney. She is also survived by several cousins, nieces and a nephew and their families, along with numerous special friends. Besides her parents, Ruby was predeceased by her husband James "Jimmy" in 1987, one brother, Gordon Drillen in 1986; two sisters, Lillian Letterick in 1998 and Daisy Day in 1998. She was a former employee of the T. Eaton Co. having worked in Mail Order Exchanges. She retired in 1975. In keeping with Ruby's wishes there will be no visitation at the funeral home. A memorial service will be held at Fair Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Thursday, July 13, 2006 at 2p.m. with Rev. Paul Cumming officiating, with burial to follow at Fair Haven Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, donations in Ruby's memory may be made to the Friends of the Moncton Hospital or memorial of one's choice would be appreciated by the family. Adolphe Gallant
SCOUDOUC, NB - Adolphe Gallant, 73, of Scoudouc passed away on Friday, July 7, 2006 at the Dr. Georges-L. Dumont Hospital, Moncton after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born in Shediac, he was the son of the late Edouard Gallant and the late Elizabeth Gautreau. A stone cutter with Smith Quarry prior to his retirement, Adolphe had a passion for fishing and camping, was a member of the Scoudouc Golden Age Club, Scoudouc darts and Dieppe Bowling. Adolphe will be greatly missed by his loving family, wife of 50 years, Andréa (Porelle) Gallant, and their children: daughter, Irène Fougère (Gérald) of Shediac, and son, Paul (Marie) of Scoudouc; two sisters, Evangeline Fougère and Dorine Gallant both of Shediac; two grandchildren, Nicole and André and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son Gérald (1997) and by a brother Albert Gallant. PERTH-ANDOVER, NB - The death of Carol Jean Clark of Perth-Andover, occurred on Saturday, July 8, 2006 at the Doctor Everett Chalmers Hospital, Fredericton, NB at the age of 63. Born in Juniper, NB she was the daughter of the late Walter and Ethel Hoyt. She is survived by one son, Alan (Heather Anne) Clark of Point-La-Nim, NB; three grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Shelby and Danica; two sisters, Eileen Hoyt of Perth-Andover and Lois Knox of Comox, BC; one brother, Kendell (Linda) Hoyt of Perth-Andover. Predeceased by her husband, Dale Clark, daughter Beth Clark, parents Walter and Ethel Hoyt, sister Roberta and brother Vernon. Resting at White's Funeral Home with visiting hours on Monday July 10th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Frederik Blomsma, age 92 years, of Moncton, NB passed away at The Moncton Hospital on Friday July 7, 2006. Born in The
Hague, Holland on September 20, 1913 he was the son of the late Johannes and Catherina Blomsma. He was a retired construction Superintendent. He is survived by sons, Robbert (Elizabeth) of Moncton, Fred (Sharon) of Riverview, and Paul (Kathie) of Harrisville; sister Jet Geelen-Blomsma of Vaals, Netherlands; five grandchildren, Angela, Emily, Kristi, Jill, and Michael; also by several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Amalia M. (Jansen) in April of this year and his son, Bill in 1994, also by several brothers and sisters. A private family memorial service will be held at Tuttle Brothers Memorial Chapel, 171 Lutz St. Moncton, NB. Interment will be in Pine Hill Cemetery. Matthew K. Murray
1987-2006
Born February 8, 1987 and gone home to be with his Heavenly Father on July 10, 2006, Matthew Kenneth Murray, beloved son of Helen and Ken, wonderful brother to Janet Colpitts (Shawn) and Pamela Cullingworth (Allan), grandson of Archibald Purdy, and proud uncle of Allison, Morgan and Logan. Matthew's passions included traveling with Moncton Wesleyan Youth on mission trips, playing football, and hunting and fishing with his dad and his friends. He was a 2005 graduate of Bernice MacNaughton High School and attended Atlantic Baptist University. A special son, brother and uncle, he will also be sadly missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. His legacy will live on by the wonderful life he led and Matthew also chose to be an organ donor. Visitation hours will be on Wednesday, July 12th, 2006 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 pm at Moncton Wesleyan Church, 945 St. George Blvd., Moncton. Robert Léger
HAUTE-ABOUJAGANE, NB - Robert Léger, 82, of Haute-Aboujagane passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, July 10, 2006 at his residence following a lengthy illness. He is survived by his wife, Yvonne (Richard) Léger; one son, Virgil (Dora) and four daughters, Géraldine Richard (Guy), Albertine Gautreau (Dolor), Aline Brun (Léandre) and Roberte Léger (Paul Melanson) all of Haute-Aboujagane; three sisters, Louise Richard of Shediac, Elizabeth Léger of Dieppe, Lorraine Dupuis of Lourde; one brother, Cedric Léger of Shediac; ten grandchildren, six great grandchildren and by several nieces and nephews. Born in Sackville, N.B., he was the son of the late Blair Léger and the late Jeanne LeBlanc. Robert was employed with Modern Construction and then as a carman with C.N.R. until his retirement. He was a member of the Haute-Aboujagane Golden Age Club. He was predeceased by one daughter, Claudette (2004); three sisters, Eveline, Thelma and Corinne; and by five brothers, Léo, Patrick, Laurie, Oswald and Emery Léger. Visitation on Tuesday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, from 9 a.m. until time of departure (10:10 a.m.) at Frenette Funeral Home Ltd., 396 Main St., Shediac (532-3297).
