Raymond Lawrence Donahue

The death of Raymond Lawrence Donahue, husband of Marcella Donahue of Blackville, N.B., occurred at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Monday, January 29th, 2001, at the age of 72.
Born in Blackville, he was the son of the late Weldon and Hannah (Hallihan) Donahue.
He was retired from the Blackville Lumber Company.
He is survived by his wife, Marcella, one son: Stephen Donahue (Andrea) of Blackville; three sisters: Mary Underhill (Lyndon) of Toronto, ON, Christine Harper (Gerald) of Riverview, N.B., and Bernadine Smith (Burton) of Miramichi; two brothers: Joseph Donahue (Marion) of Blackville and James Donahue (Diane) of Bathurst, N.B.; two grandchildren: Marissa and Allister; several nieces and nephews.
The family received visitors at St. Raphael’s Slumber Room in Blackville, on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated from St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, at 11 A.M., with Rev. Vincent Donovan officiating, assisted by Rev. King.
Active pallbearers were: Larry Porter, Johnny Duffy, Tom Brennan, Tommy Gallivan, Carmen Manderville, and George Whalen.
Honorary pallbearers were: Troy Donahue, Kevin Donahue, Richard Hayes, Greg Donovan, Rickie Hogan, Emery Brophy, Herb Warren, and Junior McEvoy.
Soloist Jacqueline Jardine sang “I Will Remember You.”
Readers were: Kimberly Stoodley, and Christine Harper.
Interment will take place at St. Raphael’s Roman Catholic Cemetery on a later date.
Funeral arrangements were under the care of Bell’s Select Community Funeral Home, 651 King George Highway, Miramichi.
Warren Harris
Monday, March 5, 2001
The death of Warren Harris of 2065 King George Highway, Miramichi, N.B., occurred on Monday, March 5, 2001 at the Miramichi Regional Hospital.
Born in Newcastle, N.B., he was the son of the late Fraser and Grace (Coughlan) Harris.
John is survived by two sons: Donald Harris (Lenore) of Burnt Church, N.B.; Warren Harris (Sally) of San Antonio, Texas; one daughter: Cheryl Harris of Dallas, Texas; one brother: Stickney Harris (Joyce) of Vancouver, BC; three sisters: Vella Trapani of Miramichi, N.B.; Lorna Ullock of Miramichi; and Edith Tomlinson of Perth Andover, N.B.; two grandchildren: Sherry and Chanse; two great-grandchildren: Echo and Carly and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his wife, Catherine Isabelle (Sewell) Harris and one sister: Dorothy Harris.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 10, 2001 at 2 P.M. from St. David’s United Church with Rev Gary Smith officiating.
Burial will follow in the Burnt Church Union Cemetery later in the spring.

Mary Hilda Hogan
July 28, 1907 - March 25, 2001
The death of Mary Hilda Hogan of the Loch Lomond Villa, Saint John, wife of the late Murdock Hogan, occurred on Sunday, March 25, 2001, at the Loch Lomond Villa.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Born in Newcastle, New Brunswick, on July 28, 1907, she was the daughter of the late James and Mary (McMahon) Chaisson.
She is survived by one son James and his wife, Nan of Saint John, one daughter, Mary Allsop and her husband, Tony of Mississauga, ON, three grandchildren, Michael Hogan (Martha), Maura Ann McSheffery (Dan) and Christopher Allsop, three great-grandchildren, Joseph and Michael McSheffery and James Hogan, and one niece, Marie Doyle.
She was predeceased by her brother, Joseph and sisters, Irene and Annie.
Resting at Bell’s Select Community Funeral Home, 651 King George Highway, Miramichi, N.B. (506-622-3600), with visiting on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s Church, Miramichi, on Thursday, March 29, 2001 at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery at a later date.
Evelyn O'Donnell

The death of Evelyn O’Donnell of 190 Hamilton Street, Miramichi, N.B., occurred at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Tuesday, April 24, 2001 at the age of 82.
Born in Newcastle, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Mary (Phair) Fogan and wife of the late Marshall O’Donnell.
Evelyn was a member of St. Andrew’s Anglican Church, member of the Prince Andrew Chapter 42 Eastern Star and a volunteer for a many organizations.
She is survived by: six nieces: Sherida Fogan, Pamela Higgs (Fogan), Betty Gremley, Roberta Fogan, Mary Jane Fogan, Myrtle Walker and one nephew: Robert Fogan.
She was predeceased by six brothers and four sisters.
The family will receive visitors at Bell’s Funeral Home on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 P.M.
Funeral Service will be held from St. Andrew’s Anglican Church on Saturday at 11 AM.
Burial will follow at Miramichi Cemetery on a later date.
For those who wish, memorial tributes may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of to a charity of the donor’s choice.

John (Jack) Dolan MacKenzie

The death of John (Jack) Dolan MacKenzie of Strathadam, N.B., occurred at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, Saturday, April 28, 2001 at the age of 70.
Born in Newcastle, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Elsie (O’Toole) MacKenzie.
He was a Millwright at Anderson’s Mill for 44 years.
Member of St. Mary’s R.C. Church.
Survived by: three sons; John (Lucy) of Whitney, N.B., Stephen of B.C. and Mike (Elspeth) of Blackville, N.B.; one daughter: Sandra (Lawrence) O’Shea off Whitney: three sisters: Mona Allison of Boom Road, N.B., Anna Estey of Strathadam, and sister, Minne MacKenzie of Wisconsin, Ont.; eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held at Bell’s Funeral Home, 651 King George Highway, Miramichi, on Sunday 7-9 and Monday 2-4 and 7-9.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday, May 1,2001 at 11 A.M. from St. Mary’s R.C. Church with Father Arnie Hachey officiating.

Benedict J. Mahoney
Benedict J. Mahoney of Miramichi Senior Citizen Home, passed away at the home on March 7, 2001 at the age of 85.
Born in Barnaby River, N.B.
He was the son of the late Jack and Catherine (Maher) Mahoney.
He retired from the Dept.of Transportation as a Heavy Equipment Operator.
Survived by two sons: Pat (Karen) of Miramichi, N.B. and Paul of Barnaby River: one brother: John (Kathy) of Vancouver B.C., and two sisters: Mary Mullin of Ontario, and Ethel (Mrs. Grant Cooper) of Victoria, B.C., and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by: two brothers: Raymond and Frankie and one sister: Florence Prince.
Family received visitors at the Slumber in Barnaby River, on Friday from 7-9.
Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Sunday, March 11, 2001 at 11.30 A.M. from The Most Heart Of Mary R.C. Church, with Father Leo Sullivan officiating, assisted by Father Henry McGrath and Father J.R. King.
Organist: Eilleen Butler and Soloist: Carl Donahue: "Amazing Grace" and the combined choirs of Chatham Head and Barnaby River church choirs.
Readers: Cathy Tucker and Patricia Gill.
