MCDONALD, ALAN PATRICK

The death of Alan McDonald occurred on April 9th, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born August 21st, 1933 in Windsor, NS, he was the son of the late Edward and Catherine (Silver) McDonald and husband to Violet (Howland) McDonald. Surviving Alan is his wife, Violet; stepchildren, Donna (Clair Hazlett) Cole of Fredericton, NB, Linda (Chris) Roberts of Fredericton, NB, Patricia Bridgeo of Fredericton, NB, and Marilyn (Patrick) Lo of Toronto, ON; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews; brother, Cyril (Inez) McDonald; sister-in-laws Doris Barnett and Vivian Howland. Alan is predeceased by his parents, three brothers, Herbert, Leo and Joseph McDonald, as well as one sister, Margaret McDonald. There will be no visitation or service by request at this time. Donations made in Alan's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

JAMES, E. M. LEONA

Our beloved mother, Leona James, after a long and courageous battle with cancer has "run the race, she has finished the course" and has peacefully gone to be with her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ on Monday April 7th, 2008. Born in Burton, NB on August 21st, 1919. She was predeceased by her husband, Kitchener; stillborn daughter, Rosalie; her parents, Magistrate Benjamin and Clara (Anderson) Barker; three brothers, Ronald, Allmon and Alfred; two sisters, Selma Nevers and Ruth Waugh. She is survived by her daughters, Dianne (Terry) Burns of Fredericton, and Valerie (Tom) Battaglia of Burlington, Ontario; grand daughter, Sherry Eatmon (Chuck) who was like another daughter to her; four great grandchildren, Chester, Amethyst, Johanna, and Jacob; sister, Ella Rylko of Fort Erie, Ontario; as well as several nieces and nephews. Resting at Bishop's Funeral Home, 540 Woodstock Rd. with visitation on Friday April 11, 2008 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Her homegoing service will be held on Saturday April 12th, 2008 at 1:00 pm from the Capital Community Church, Marysville, where she had attended and been affiliated with the United Pentecostal denomination for more than fifty years. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the Capital Community Church Missions Fund or the Canadian Cancer Society. Interment will take place in Tracy at a later date. A reception will be held immediately following the service in the church fellowship hall. Pallbearers will be Chester W. Eatmon (greatgrandson), Harold O'Donnell, Jeff Morgan, Jack Munn, Duncan Munn, and Frank Rymachuk.

BROGAN, GAYLE LELIA

The death of Gayle Lelia Brogan of Minto, NB occurred Wednesday, April 09, 2008 at the Chalmer's Regional Hospital. Born in Chipman, NB she was the daughter of Alberta (Doherty) Bishop of Chipman, NB and the late Gray Bishop. Survived by her loving husband Floyd Brogan; a son Jeff Brogan (Glenna); a daughter Bonnie Bourgeois (Danny) all of Minto, NB; 3 grandchildren, Nikki (Nicole), Kelsey and Alex; a brother, Manford Bishop (Mildred) of Chipman, NB; sisters, Donetta Madore (Doug) of Minto, NB and Marsha Adams (Bill) of Moncton, NB; several nieces and nephews. Gayle was predeceased by her father Gray Bishop. Resting at the Minto Funeral Home 327-3490 with visiting on Thursday evening from 7-9pm. Funeral Service will be held 11:00AM Friday, April 11th, 2008 from the Parker Memorial Chapel with Pastor David Egers officiating. Interment will take place in the Wallbridge Cemetery at a later date. For those who wish donations made to the Arthritis Society would be appreciated by the family.

LAWSON, IVY RUBY PEARL

Ivy Ruby Pearl Lawson of Saint John, wife of James G. Lawson, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 7, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born at Saint John, Ivy was Presbyterian by faith, and also attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints with her husband. An avid chess player, Ivy also enjoyed hunting with her husband. In addition to her husband, Ivy is survived by two sisters, Roberta Ogden (Murray) of Grand Bay-Westfield, and Ann Campbell (Rick) of Saint John West; and by several nieces, nephews, and grand nieces. Ivy was predeceased by her mother, Myrtle (Oulton) Fosler; and by a brother, Robert. Although there will be no visitation time, relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral service which will be held on Friday, April 11, 2008 at 1:00 PM from Grace Presbyterian Church (formerly the Church of St. John and St. Stephen), Coburg Street, Saint John. Interment will take place in Ocean View Memorial Gardens. For those who wish, remembrances to Grace Presbyterian Church Wheelchair Lift Fund would be appreciated by the family. The funeral arrangements are under the care and direction of Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424).

GOSSE, BASS
(1938 - 2008)

After a courageous battle with multiple myeloma, Bass Gosse of Glenwood, NB, beloved husband of Thelma Lourie-Gosse, passed away peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on April 8, 2008. Born on Bell Island, Newfoundland, Bass was the eldest son of the late William and Winnifred (Butler) Gosse. Besides his wife; he is survived by his son, William Bass Gosse of Victoria, BC; four brothers, Jack (Joan) of Public Landing, NB, Robert (Donna) of Glenwood, Boyd (Barbara) NS, Barry (Jackie) of Calgary, AB; eight sisters, Doreen Jackman (Peter) of Toronto, ON, Violet Stanley (Harold) NFLD, Joan Purcell (Ted) NS, Judy Stapleton (Tom) NFLD, Donna Hill (Ron) NS, Brenda Byrne-Richard (Doug) NS, Sandra Gosse NFLD, Anna Lafreniere (Gilbert) NS; he will also be greatly missed by his sister-in-law, Frances Lourie of Middleton, NS; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and a sister, Daphne. Bass was a proud member of the Canadian Armed Forces having served with the PPCLI on various bases in Western Canada and Germany as well as two Peace Keeping Tours in Cyprus. After retirement from the regular forces, he joined the 31 Service Battalion in Saint John and served as a Battalion RSM. Although always a true Newfoundlander at heart, Bass enjoyed his home on the beautiful St. John River. Noted for his wit, he loved life and laughter. He was a member of Greenwood Branch # 87 Royal Canadian Legion. Arrangements are under the care of Brenan's Bay View Select Community Funeral Home, 1461 Manawagonish Road, Saint John (506) 634-7425. There will not be any visitation. A Memorial Service will be held from Bay View Chapel on Saturday, April 12, 2008 at 2 pm. A reception will follow immediately after the service. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Oncology Unit SJRH, the Children's Wish Foundation, the Leslie E. Bruce Environmental Scholarship UNB or any charity of choice. Condolences to the family may be made through www.bayviewfh.com Thelma wishes to thank the medical staff, whose professional dedication helped Bass sustain a quality of life for so many years. Thank you to the Extra-Mural nurses, Dr. Sean Dolan and the Oncology staff, both in the clinic and 5AS, as well as the Day Hospital staff; also the Hematology Unit of the Halifax Victoria General, in particular Dr. Darrell White and of course Dr. Robert Webb, who always had time. "To live in the hearts of those you leave behind is not to die."

BOGLE, BASIL BERNARD

The death of Mr. Basil B. Bogle, 84, husband of Barbara J. (Collins) Bogle, his war bride of 63 years, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on April, 7, 2008. Born in New Jerusalem on October 7, 1923, he was the son of the late Maurice V. and Phebe L. (Vallis) Bogle. A veteran of World War II, Mr. Bogle served with the RCAF. Mr. Bogle was a resident of Lepreau for more than thirty three years and was an active member of St. Margaret's Anglican Church in Lepreau. He had been employed as an equipment operator with Strescon for over thirty years and bowled in the Senior's League at Bowlorama. Mr. Bogle is survived by four sons, Gary S. (Sharon) Bogle of Chance Harbour, Graham L. (Marilyn) Bogle of Saint John, Kevin W. (Theresa) Bogle of Fort McMurray, Adrian M. (Teresa) Bogle of Lepreau; one daughter, Sharon (Wayne) Stevens of Saint John West; one brother, Arthur (Doreen) Bogle of Browns Flat; two sisters, Josephine Downs of Victoria, B.C., and Marion Lanktree of Ontario; eleven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one grandson, three brothers, George, Lawrence and Vernon Bogle, four sisters, Ina Bogle, Hazel Bogle, Phebe Bogle and Emily Wilson. Resting at Castle "Fallsview" Funeral Home (634-1701), 309 Lancaster Avenue, Saint John West. The funeral service will be held from "Fallsview Chapel" on Friday, April 11, 2008 at 1 pm. Visiting on Wednesday from 7 to 9 pm, and Thursday from 2 to 4, 7 to 9 pm. Interment to follow at Ocean View Memorial Gardens. The RCL will hold a Tribute to a Veteran Service on Thursday at 7:30 pm. Following the interment, a reception will take place at the Fallsview Family Reception Centre.

WILSON, WILLIAM CHARLES

With sadness, the family would like to announce the death of William Charles Wilson, husband of Lillian (Holland) Wilson, on April 8, 2008 at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Regional Hospital. Born in Fredericton on January 11, 1930, he was the son of the late William and Levina (Doherty) Wilson. William was a member of St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church. He was the owner, Manager of Wilson Plumbing and Heating Ltd. which he established in 1954. He was also owner, manager of W.C. Wilson and Sons Rentals Inc. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family and many friends on the Big Bald Mountain. He will be greatly missed by his daughters, Judith (Dennis Pugh) and Cynthia (Yvan Hachey) both of Fredericton; sons, William Jr., Gerald (Jillian) and Timothy (Brenda) all of Fredericton; seven grandchildren and one great grandchild; brother, Matthew (Frances) Wilson; sisters, Jerry Cornford, Thelma (Ron) Burpee of Fredericton, Colleen (Lea) Thornton of NH, Carolyn O'Rouke, Juanita Wilson of Fredericton; sister-in-law, Gertrude Wilson; several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers, Vincent and Bruce. There will be no visitation by request. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Anthony's Roman Catholic Church, Union Street, Fredericton, NB on Thursday, April 10, 2007 at 11 am with Father Monte Peters as celebrant. In lieu of flowers, remembrances made to the Parkinson Society or the charity of the donor's choice would be appreciated by the family. Personal condolences may be offered through www.yorkfh.com

Robert Hugh Murray

The death of Robert Hugh Murray, of Miramichi, NB, occurred at his late residence on Saturday, May 24, 2008 at the age of 53. Born in Newcastle, NB, he is the son of Kenneth and Ella (Silliker) Murray of Moncton, NB. Over the years Robert has worked various jobs in Moncton and Alberta. Robert loved music, painting and woodcarving. Besides his parents: Robert is survived by four sisters, Lynn Liao (Philip) of Charlotte, North Carolina, Sandra Stiles (Ron) of Fredericton, NB, Nancy Sampson (Paul) of West Vancouver, BC, Debra Wilson (Don) of Edmonton, AB; two brothers, Brian of Moncton, NB, David (Yenmi) of Richmond, BC; one nephew, Gerry; three nieces, Jessica, Sarah & Olivia. Robert is predeceased by an infant brother, Lawrence Kenneth; maternal grandparents, Ward & Freda Silliker; paternal grandparents, Curtis & Clara Murray. At the request of the family there was no visitation at the funeral home. A graveside service was held at Burnt Church Union Cemetery on Thursday at 2 PM with Rev. Ronald Feltmate officiating. Soloist Stanley MacDonald sang " I Would Have to Cross Jordan Alone" and "Further Along". Active Pallbearers were: Stanley MacDonald, Perley MacDonald, Douglas Reid, Elmer Silliker, Buddy Silliker and Bryce Harris. Burial followed in the cemetery. In Robert's memory, donations may be made to the Miramichi Regional Hospital Foundation or to a memorial of one's choice. Mary Bernetta McEachreon

The death of Mary Bernetta McEachreon, of Nelson, NB, occurred at the Miramichi Regional Hospital on Sunday, May 25, 2008 at the age of 92. Born in Nelson, NB, Bernetta was the daughter of the late Everette and Mary (Ahern) McEachreon. Bernetta attended St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Nelson, NB, worked at the Telegraph Journal in Saint John for 32 years until her retirement. She was a very active and involved with various church groups both in Miramichi and Saint John. Bernetta is survived by one brother, Hubert McEachreon of Nelson, NB; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Bernetta is predeceased by two brothers, Mark and John. The family received visitors at Bell's Funeral Home, on Tuesday from 7 to 9 PM and on Wednesday from 2 to 4 & 7 to 9 PM. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated from St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Nelson on Thursday at 11 AM with Father Jim McQuade officiating assisted by Father Leon Creamer. Organist Mary Butler assisted by soloist Susan Butler. Readers were Keith McEachreon and Liz Doyle. Active Pallbearers were: Danny McEachreon, Damian Doyle, Todd Thibodeau, Bradley Thibodeau, Drew Cormier and Joey Savoy. Burial followed in the St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Cemetery, Nelson, NB. In Bernetta's memory, donations may be made to St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church Memorial Fund Funeral arrangements were under the care of Bell's Funeral Home, 651 King George Highway, Miramichi, NB Telephone: 506-622-3600.
