STEWART
Mr. Leslie Lawrence Stewart, husband of Theresa Stewart of 1572 Route 118, White Rapids NB, passed away Saturday December 6, 2008 at Miramichi regional Hospital, at the age of 86. Born in Stewart Point, Quarryville NB, he was the son of the late Sanford & Mabel (Coughlan) Stewart. He was a retired self employed truck Driver and a member of St Bridget's Roman Catholic Church, Renous. He was a veteran of WW11. He is survived by three daughters; Gail MacNaughton (Wesley), Thelma Sullivan (Gary), Dorothy Mullin (Gerald); four sons, Leslie (Valerie), Derrick (Mae), Dennis (Irene), Timmy; three sisters, Alta Greely, Lorraine Curtis and Virginia Stewart; one brother, Murdock Stewart; 12 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Laurie; three sisters, Susie, Elaine and Bernadine; two brothers, Irving and Herschel. At the request of Mr. Leslie Lawrence Stewart there was a private visitation and funeral on Monday December 8, 2008. JARDINE
Mr. Harold Daniel Jardine, husband of Irene (Lumsden) Jardine of 911 Route 435 Hwy, Maple Glen NB, passed away Thursday evening, December 11, 2008, at Miramichi Regional Hospital, at the age of 84. Born in Curtis Road, NB, he was the son of the late Lorne and Isabelle (Lumsden) Jardine. He was a retired self employed truck driver. He was a member of Maple Glen United Church. Besides his wife Irene he is survived by four daughters; Dale MacEachern of Miramichi; Margaret Toupin (Tom L'Huillier) of Beaverbrook; Karen Jardine (Jim Stewart) of Quarryville; Alaina Sheasgreen (Jeff) of Miramichi; three sons; Blair Jardine of WaWa Ontario; David Jardine (Brenda) of Maple Glen; Kevin Jardine of Maple Glen; three sisters; Emaline Matchett of Miramichi; Vera Richard (Edward) of C I Road; Mary Emma Tarr (Herbie) of Miramichi; four brothers; Wilfred Jardine (Frances) of Nelson; Clifford Jardine (Myrtle) of Thunder Bay ON; Winston Jardine (Gladys) of Maple Glen; Colin Jardine (Unice) of Maine; 12 grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents, one daughter Debbie; five brothers; twin brother Robert, Allen, Elwin, Raymond and Rufus; one sisters; Helen Hatt. Mr. Harold Daniel Jardine rested at Davidson's Funeral Home, 597 Old King George Hwy, Miramichi, with visitation on Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. The Funeral Service was held Sunday, December 14, 2008 at 2 p.m. from Davidson's Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. John Fraser officiating. Organist was Shirley Estey. Soloist Shannon Corcoran rendered "Remember Me" and "On Eagles Wings". Congregational hymn was "The Old Rugged Cross". Remembrance was read by Gladys Jardine, written by brother and sister. Readings were by Brenda Jardine and Brenda Richardson. Burial will be in Maple Glen Cemetery later in the spring. At the request of the family donations to Miramichi Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit, IWK Children's Hospital, Maple Glen United Church, or a memorial of ones choice would be appreciated. Active Pallbearers were: Colin Jardine, Craig Jardine, Brett Jardine, Darcy Jardine, Jordan Jardine, Michael Toupin, William MacEacheron and Jeremy MacEacheron. Perley Wilson Waye
The death of Perley Wilson Waye, of Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home and formerly of Trout Brook, NB, husband of Helen Waye, occurred on Wednesday, December 10th, 2008 at the Mount Saint Joseph Nursing Home at the age of 74. Born in Wayerton, NB, he was the son of the late Robert and Ada (Hare) Waye. Perley was retired from Heath Steel Mines. Besides his wife; Helen, he is survived by, one daughter; Gloria Waye (Mark) of Newcastle, NB, one son; Perry of Slave Lake, AB, one step-daughter; Susan Watling (Michael) of Chelmford, NB, two step-sons; Bernie Allison of Calgary, AB, Stephen Allison of Newcastle, NB, six sisters; Irene Rolph of Trout Brook, NB, Nellie Williston (Carmen) of Miramichi, NB, Wanda Waye of Miramichi, NB, Joan Goode (Fred) of Ottawa, ON, Marilyn O'Brien and Clora Cortes (Frank) all of Fort McMurray, AB, one brother; Bobby of South Esk, NB, nine grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Perley is predeceased by: brothers; Jim, Earl, Carl, Mervin and Ernie, sisters; Audrey and Beulah. The family received visitors at Bell's Funeral Home on Thursday from 7 to 9 PM and on Friday from 2 to 4 PM. The funeral service was held from the Sterling Bell Memorial Chapel on Saturday, December 13, 2008 at 2 PM with Pastor Gary Porter officiating assisted by: Pastor Wendell England. Active pallbearers were; Arnott Nowlan, Darrell Waye, Mark Waye, Michael Watling, Pastor Robert Bourque and Wendell Walsh. Honorary pallbearers were; Sherman Ashton, John Ashton, Byron Waye, Ricky Rolph, Stephen Allison, Ted Allison, Ralph Porter, Carman Williston, Alton Baisley, Laurie McNeil, Blair Waye and Bill Matchett. Eulogy was given by: niece; Eva Lefurgey. Music was provided by: Organist; Shirley MacGowan, Guitarist; Gyles Baisley and the Full Gospel Worship Team (Shirlee Porter, Eva Lefurgey, Maxine Turcotte and Mary Gifford. Burial will take place in the Wesley United Church Cemetery later in the spring. In Perley's memory, a donation may be made to the Living Will. George Wendell Morell
George Wendell Morell - George W. Morell passed away peacefully with family at his bedside on November 25, 2008 at Grace Hospital in Winnipeg at the age of 83 years. He was predeceased by his mother; Grace (Jones) Morell, his father; Frederick Clifford Morell, his brothers; Fred and Horace and his son; George of Winnipeg. He is survived by his wife; Margaret Ethel (Wilson), his son; Douglas, his grandchildren; Sarah Dundass (Kevin) and Jason (Laura), his great grandsons; Miles and Riley Morell and his sister; Lois Martin of Miramichi, N.B. George was born in Newcastle New Brunswick in 1925. He joined the RCAF in 1943, commenced Flying Training in January 1944 at Pendleton and Hagersville Ontario and earned his Wings in November of that same year. George was honourably released from active service in January of 1946 and worked for New Brunswick Hydro before Re-joining RCAF Regular Service in May of 1954. Through postings at Trenton, Penhold (#4 FTS), Gimli, Saskatoon and Cold Lake he earned an A1 Instructors rating. In January of 1958 he was assigned to 433 (AW) F Squadron in North Bay Ontario and in August of 1961 transferred to No. 1 Air Division Headquarters (3 Wing) Metz, France. He was again stationed at North Bay (131 KU) in August 1965 and retired from service in August 1970. After leaving the Air Force, he worked for the North Bay Police Department until his retirement in February 1985. In 2001, George and Ethel moved to Winnipeg. Cremation has taken place. Interment will be in Miramichi Cemetery at a later date.
YATES, ISOBEL VIRGINIA
It is with great sadness that the family of Isobel Virginia Yates (Dickison) announces her passing at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, December 30, 2008 at the age of 77. Surrounded by her loving family, her fight for life to the very end was a true testament to the way in which she lived her life; voracious and with grace and dignity. Isobel was the daughter of the late Charles Daniel Dickison and Vivian (Gore) Dickison. She was a past member of the United Church Women of Canada and a member of Saint James and Saint John United Church in Miramichi. She was a lifetime member of Beta Sigma Phi and had recently received her 50 year pin. She was a past member of both the Miramichi Curling Club and the Miramichi Golf and Country Club. Isobel had a real zest for life - she was always found in the midst of people - laughing and talking about things of interest. She loved good conversation, good food and good coffee, no matter where she was. A friend to many, she touched and enriched the lives of all who had the pleasure of getting to know her. From a game of bridge, to going out to breakfast with her family, the joys in her life were simple, yet so thoroughly satisfying. Isobel leaves behind a very loving family, John (Cindy) of Rothesay, NB, Carolyn (Doug) Mullin of South Nelson, NB, Andrew of Quispamsis, NB; her four grandchildren, Nathan, Garrett, Lucas and Maggie; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Robert (Bobby) Dickison, and earlier this year by her husband of 49 years, Jack. When it came to the joys in her life, the grandchildren were definitely her focus. Nathan, Garrett, Lucas and Maggie were all loved and cherished by her and provided much enjoyment. Isobel will certainly be missed by her family and her friends, of which there were many. Thanks on behalf of Isobel are extended to those who graciously attended to her in her final days, including Dr. Gordon Hollway and the very special medical staff of 4CN and 5CN at the Saint John Regional Hospital. At Isobel's request, there will be no visitation at the Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place at the Saint James and Saint John's United Church in Miramichi on Friday, January 2, 2009 at 1 pm. In Isobel's memory, donations may be made to the Canadian Alzheimer's Society or a charity of one's choice. WHITE, M. GERALDINE
The death of Marion Geraldine White of Saint John, NB, a resident of Crow's Nest Manor, occurred on Monday, December 29th, 2008 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in Port Wade, Annapolis Co., NS in 1909, she was the daughter of the late Fred Lorne and Alice Genevra (Teed) White. Geraldine taught school in Saskatchewan and Nova Scotia before joining the Department of Consumer Affairs in Saint John where she was employed for over thirty-three years. She was a resident of Saint John since 1942 and a long time member of the Full Gospel Assembly where she was active with the youth and the visitation program. She is the last surviving member of her immediate family having been predeceased by her parents and two brothers, Fred and Leigh. Surviving is a niece, Dawn Sapuntzoff of Florida, USA and five grandnephews and grandnieces. Resting at Brenan's Select Community Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (506) 634-7424 with visiting on Thursday, January 1st, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. WALTON, GORDON MURRAY
The death of Gordon Walton of Saint John, NB occurred peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, December 28, 2008. Gordon will be sadly missed by all of his friends at Dobbelsteyn Care Home; Susan, Dora, Jean, Bea, Charlie, Doris, Nancy and all the staff. Although there will be no visitation, a memorial service will be held at Dobbelsteyn Care Home at a later date. Le 1e décembre marque ton départ depuis déjà un an mais celui-ci nous semble si récent. Tu nous manque tellement et nous voudrions te voir encors à nos côtés pour nous aimer et nous accompagner dans nos joies et nos peines. Nous aurions tellement voulu que tu puisse voir Rémi dans son uniforme de baseball et Danika dans sa robe de bal et les féliciter tous les deux de leurs bons résultats académiques. D'avoir été présent lors de la graduation à Mario, lorque Benoit et Linda ont échangé leurs voeux et lorsque ta grand-mère Aldéa a célébré son 107e anniversaire. D'avoir vu la fieté et la joie de ta mère Patricia ,tes frères et soeurs Paul-Emile, Valmond, Denis, Nicole et Janice, ta parenté ainsi que tes amis lors du dévoilement de la patinoire en ton nom et lors de la remise des plaques illustrant ton auto à l'exposition des voitures antiques. Comme nous ,ils ne se rappellent que de beaux souvenirs et nous parlent de toi avec amour. Ils ressentent eux aussi ce grand vide qui a bouleverser nos vies. Pas une journée passe sans que nous pensions à toi et nous rêvons encors que tu vas nous revenir d'un long voyage. Ton sourire, ta gaieté, ta joie de vivre, ta bonté et ton amour resteront à jamais gravés dans nos coeurs. Veille sur nous et aide-nous à surmonter la douleur et la peine qui continuent de nous attrister. Nous t'aimerons toujours. Andréa, Danika et Rémi. Ta mère Patricia. Tes frères et soeurs et familles.
Anita Breau
1961-2008
A l'Hôpital de Moncton, le samedi 22 novembre 2008, à l'âge de 47 ans, est décédée suite à une courte maladie Anita Breau, domiciliée à la Villa du Repos de Moncton, mais autrefois de Shédiac. Née le 16 janvier 1961 à Shédiac, elle était fille de feu Walter et Émilia (Richard) Breau. Elle était un photographe indépendant. Elle sera beaucoup manqué par ses deux soeurs: Norma Léger (Irénée) de Grand-Barachois et Geneva Breau de Shédiac; son frère, Walter Jr. de Grand-Barachois; ainsi que trois nièces: Lisa, Tracy et Meagan. Outre ses parents, un neveu Terry l'a précédé dans la tombe. Les funérailles auront lieu en l'église Saint-Joseph de Shédiac, le mercredi 26 novembre 2008, à 14h. L'inhumation se fera au cimetière paroissial. Il n'y aura pas de visites au salon funéraire. A la demande de la famille, un don à l'association Dystrophie musculaire Canada (1-866-687-2538) serait apprécié par la famille au lieu des fleurs.
