Ethel May Ryan
RYAN - the death of Ethel May Ryan of Loch Lomond Villa occurred at her residence on Monday, February 11, 2008. Ethel was born in Saint John, a daughter of the late Owen and Ella (Patterson) Campbell.
She was predeceased by a brother, William Campbell; and four sisters, Bessie McKay, Gertrude Orr, Margaret Dunphy, and Clare McAuley.
She is survived by five sons, Edward (Florence) of Renous, Daniel of Saint John, Robert of Saint John, John (Sheila) of Toronto, and William of Saint John; two sisters, Mary O'Blenis of Saint John, and Frances Mailman (John) of Willow Grove; seven grandchildren. Beth Ryan, Loretta Ryan, Bernard Ryan, Jeff Ryan, Sheryl Ryan, Daniel Ryan, and Calvin Ryan; three great - granddaughters, Alexandra and Charlotte Nicholson, Sharon Ryan; and several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Wednesday and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Friday afternoon at 12:05. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the New Brunswick Alzheimer Society of the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
Matrona J. "Tonie" Lignos
LIGNOS - the death of Matrona J. "Tonie" Lignos of 220 Duke St. occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Tuesday, February 19, 2008. Tonie was born in Saint John, a daughter of the late Elefterious and Anna Marie (Nairn) Lignos. She was predeceased by a brother, George. She is survived by one son, Anthony, of Saint John; two daughters, Athena and Michelle, both of Saint John; four brothers, Michael, Leo, Nicky, and Kelty, all of Saint John; one sister, Renna of Saint John; three grandchildren, Brandon, Kyle, and Dominik; and several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Saturday morning from 9:30 until service at 10:30.
Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Sister Susan J. MacDonald (Sr. Mary Victorine)
MacDONALD - the death of Sister Susan J. MacDonald (Sr. Mary Victorine) occurred at Ruth Ross Residence on Saturday, February 23, 2008. Sister Susan was born in Harcourt, N.B., a daughter of the late Robert and Julia (Morton) MacDonald. She entered the Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception on December 7, 1927. Sister taught at several schools in various provinces throughout Canada during her teaching career, which included Woodstock, Silver Falls, Maisey's & St. Stephen, N.B.; Vancouver and Powell River, B.C.; Nostalgia, Quebec, and Digby, N.S. Upon her retirement from teaching Sister Susan ministered to the residents at Rocmaura Nursing Home by volunteering her skills as an Arts and Crafts instructor. She was predeceased by six brothers, Father Angus MacDonald, Robert MacDonald, Malcolm MacDonald, Thomas MacDonald, Rainsforth MacDonald, and Louis MacDonald; and three sisters, Sister Sarah MacDonald, S.C.I.C., Helen MacDonald, and Patricia MacDonald. She is survived by one sister, Miss Rita MacDonald of Rexton, N.B.; and several nieces and nephews.
Resting at St. Vincent's Convent, 31 Cliff St., with visiting on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Evening Vigil Service will be held on Monday evening at seven o'clock. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Vincent's Chapel on Tuesday morning at ten o'clock.
Interment will take place in the Sisters of Charity Plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Arthur M. LeBlanc
LeBLANC - the death of Arthur M. LeBlanc of 71 Sewell St. occurred unexpectedly in Saint John on Wednesday, February 27, 2008. Arthur was born in Saint John, a son of Irene (Perry) McGraw of Saint John and the late Joseph E. McGraw. Besides his mother, he is survived by three brothers, Patrick (Sharon) McGraw of Calgary, Michael (Karen) McGraw of Saint John, and Jim; three sisters, Betty McGraw of Saint John, and Julia and Theresa; and several nieces and nephews, including special niece, Tanya, and special nephew, Perry.
Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., with visiting on Sunday and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception on Tuesday morning at 12:05. Following cremation, interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery.
Doreen A. J. Crowley
CROWLEY - the death of Doreen A. J. Crowley occurred at her residence, Charlton Place, on Friday, February 29, 2008. Miss Crowley was born in Saint John, a daughter of the late LeBlanc and Ella (Williams) Crowley.
She had been employed as a secretary. As was her style, Doreen maintained her sense of humour right to the end. She had a special love of cats and they were with her when she died... Ira to provide comfort, Nikki to provide entertainment, and Kayla to guard her. She was predeceased by a sister, Phyllis Tracey, and a nephew, Wayne Power. She is survived by two brothers, Willard (Geraldine) Crowley of Saint John, and Dorn (Helen) Crowley of Corunna., Ont.; three sisters, Ruby Landry(George) of Chateauguay, Que., Jean Fontaine of Charlottetown, and Glenna Power of Rothesay; and several nieces and nephews, including Patricia Tracey.
Memorial service will be held at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St., on Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock. Interment will take place in St. Joseph's Cemetery in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donation to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Animal Rescue League would be appreciated.
Gerard S. McCaig
McCAIG - The death of Gerard S. McCaig (age 75), husband of Carmel(Daigle) McCaig, occurred peacefully at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Sunday, March 2, 2008 after a lengthy illness.
Gerard was a life long member of the Knights of Columbus, being a team Captain for the Degree Team and Past Grand Knight of Council 937. He was Head Usher for St.Ann's Church and a Past - President of Parish Council. Gerard retired from the New Brunswick Department of Transportation after a 32 year career that included with him being District Supervisor/ Driver Examination Services. He was a lifelong member of the United Commercial Travelers. He coached many hockey teams during his lifetime and particularly enjoyed his appointment as president of Simonds Minor Hockey and trainer for the Saint John Schooners which recently celebrated their 40th anniversary. Gerard will be especially missed by his wife of 49 years, Carmel; his son, Michael (Karen) of Saint John; and his precious granddaughter, Victoria. Gerard was predeceased by his eight siblings Bill, John, James, Danny, Gregory, Helen Lenihan, Jean, and Verna McCutcheon.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Ann's Church on Wednesday morning at eleven o'clock. Reception to follow in St. Ann's Parish Hall. In Lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer's Society, the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, or the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated. Marie Inez Rowley
ROWLEY - The death of Marie Inez Rowley, of the Loch Lomond Villa, and widow of the late Walter Cecil Rowley Sr., occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on Saturday March 8, 2008. Born in Saint John, Marie was a daughter of the late Louis Thomas and Rose Lima (Savage) Hodd.
In her early years Marie had worked for Eastern Bakeries, she was also very active with the Ladies Auxillary in the legion branchs #64 and then #69, and she was an avid Bingo player. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family. She was predeceased by her brothers Clement Hodd, Stephen Hodd, Francis Hodd, Edward Hodd, Louis Hodd,and Ervin Hodd, her sisters, Clare Edgett,and Ursula Vaughan. She is survived by her 4 sons, Donald (Marie), of Kingston Penninsula, Paul (Gail), of Saint John, Walter (Gillian), of Yarmouth, N.S., and Peter, of Victoria, B.C., 2 daughters, Roseanne (Wayne) Magee, of Saint John, and Patricia (Stephen) Quinn, of Paris Ontario, and her extended family the Backyard Kids, 12 grandchildren, and 12 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
Resting at Fitzpatrick's Funeral Home, 100 Waterloo St; from where the funeral will be held on Wednesday at 10:40am to St. Peter's Church for Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00am. Interment to take place in Cedar Hill Cemetery. Visiting Hours Monday and Tuesday 2to4pm, and 7to9pm. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.
Stella G. Power - Moore
POWER - MOORE - the death of Stella G. Power - Moore occurred at Loch Lomond Villa on Sunday, March 9, 2008. Stella was born in Yarmouth, N.S., a daughter of the late John and Ethel May (Abric) Dalton, and had resided in Saint John since 1946. She was predeceased by her first husband, John "Buddie" Power, in 1969, and her second husband, Barry Moore, in 1997. She was also predeceased by four brothers, John, Bernard, Angus, and William; and five sisters, Alice, Muriel, Shirley, Grace, and Pauline. She is survived by three sons, Gary Power and Michael (Paula) Power, both of Saint John, and Daniel (Karen) Power of Ottawa; 8 grandchildren; 5 great - grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Howard M. Galbraith
GALBRAITH - the death of Howard M. Galbraith of School Bus Rd., Lorneville, husband of the late Ethel (Teare) Galbraith, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital on Friday, March 14, 2008.
Mr.Galbraith was born in Saint John, a son of the late William and Gertrude(Pursey) Galbraith, and had been employed with the Corps of Commissionaires for many years. He is survived by one sister, Irene Perry of London, Ont.

Sister Audrey J. Darrah
DARRAH - the death of Sister Audrey J. Darrah (Sr. Jean Marie) occurred at Ruth Ross Residence on Saturday, March 15, 2008. Sister was born in Saint John, a daughter of the late Joseph A. and Margaret (Dolan) Darrah.
She entered the Sisters of Charity of the Immaculate Conception on February 2, 1939. A teacher by profession, Sister Darrah taught school at St. Patrick's Orphanage, St. Patrick's, Assumption, and Holy Trinity Schools in Saint John. She also taught at St. Mary's Indian School in Fredericton and at the Tobique Reserve School in Maliseet, N.B. After thirty - five years of teaching, Sister Darrah was involved in Volunteer work in Saint John and in catechetical ministry in Saint John and Berwick, N.S. Sister ministered at St. Peter's Home, an emergency shelter for children, and as a receptionist at Rocmaura Nursing Home.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph H., John L., and Patrick Darrah; and eight sisters, Mrs. Catherine Muckler, Miss Helen M. Darrah, Miss Dorothy T. Darrah, Miss Ada G. Darrah, Mrs. Mary Sprague, Miss Paula Darrah, Sister Florence Darrah, and Miss Jean Darrah. She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
