There was a column in many Newfoundland newspapers called "Searching For Family" that was managed by Judy Ash.

Much Canadian family information can be gleaned from the submissions to this column.

Inevitably, many of the subjects of these entries have not ever been located, so our hopes are that repeating

these extracts will help that effort.

PLACE OF BIRTH: Natural mother was of R.C. faith, born in Newfoundland,  

went to Nova Scotia four years before my birth (1944). She indicated that  

the birth father resided in Cape Breton and was around 25 years old.

WEIGHT: 6 lbs. 9 1/2 oz. 

NOTE: Clara Sparkes was Welfare Officer at time of adoption in Corner Brook.  

Biological grandfather had asthma. Birth family may have surname House or Norma or Holmes.
