CLOUSTON, Alwyn V. (Uncle Al) — Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on October 27, 2004, Al Clouston, age 94 years. Predeceased by his wife Ida. Left with fond and loving memories daughter Carol Ann, Egypt and son Ian; grandchildren: Douglas, John (Andrea), Elizabeth Clouston, Nancy Corcoran (Paul); great-grandchildren: Sara, Sydney, Abby, Benjamin and Kendall Corcoran; daughter-in-law Orinda McCarthy and son Paul; special friends: Dr. Gerald Benson, Rev. Sheldon MacKenzie, Ann Devine and Eva Hawkins and also many other friends and relatives. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. and Monday from 10 a.m. to 12 noon. Funeral service will be held on Monday, November 01, 2004 at 2:00 p.m. from St. David's Presbyterian Church, Elizabeth Avenue. Interment at Mount Pleasant cemetery. No flowers by request. Donations in his memory may be made to the St. John's Boys and Girls Club, P.O. Box 5012, St. John's, NL A1C 5V3 and the Canadian Bible Society.

Conway, Michael
Passed peacefully away at the Caribou Pavilion on Saturday October 30, 2004, Michael John Conway, age 87 years. A veteran of WWII with the Royal Navy, and was a past member of the Knights of Columbus. Leaving to mourn wife, Bertha and her children, Eric Seaward, Angela Smith and Linda Gosling; also a large number of nieces and nephews. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd. from 2 – 4 p.m. and 7 – 9 p.m. Sunday and Monday. Funeral service will be held from the Carnell Memorial Chapel on Tuesday, November 2, 2004 at 11 a.m. Interment to follow in Holy Sepulchre cemetery.

VINCER, Patricia M. (nee Kelly): Passed peacefully away at ChancellorPark on Friday, November 05, 2004, Patricia Vincer formerly of M.F. Kelly Ltd. aged 72 years. Predeceased by her parents M.F. Kelly and Mollie Kelly and brother Arthur Kelly. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories her husband John “Jack” Vincer; children: Michael (Kathy), Halifax, David (Janice), CBS, Janet Koppelman (Albert) Bowmanville, ON, Richard (Darlene) Mt. Pearl and Robert (Diane), St. John’s; beloved grandchildren: Anthony, Mary Pam, Tom, Lauren (Derek), Jessica, Anna, Claire, Abigail, Jordan and Jenna; other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Sunday, November 07 from 2-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, November 08, 2004 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Teresa’s Church, Mundy Pond with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre cemetery.

FINN, John Peter — (November 10, 1920 - October 22, 2004). Passed peacefully away at the Caribou Veterans Pavilion, John Peter Finn, age 83 years, of St. John's. WWII Veteran, 59th Nfld. Heavy Regiment Royal Artillery; British 6th Airborne Regiment; Legion Branch 56. Predeceased by infant son Peter, 1957; son John, 1993; sisters: Mary Enright and Frances Buck; brothers: Jim and Bren. Leaving to mourn his wife of 51 years, Sarah (Windsor); son Chris (Nancy), Edmonton; daughter Elizabeth (Ches Parsons), Ottawa; daughter-in-law Suzan, St. John's; grandchildren: Ryan and Sarah Finn, Ceilidh, Bhreagh & John Parsons, Heather and Stephen Finn; brothers: Mike (Alice) and Joe (Mary); sisters: Angela Power; sister-in-law Kitty; brothers-in-law: Doug Windsor, Stan Windsor (Barb), Frank Windsor (Jeanette); sisters-in-law Jess Goodyear (Tom) and Jean Hayre, along with many other relatives, friends and staff at DVA, 3rd floor. Resting at Carnell's Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road with visitation on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, October 25, 2004 at 9:30 a.m. from St. Pius X Parish with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant cemetery, Field of Honor. Donations in John's memory may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or a charity of one's choice. May he rest in peace.

Menchions, Hilda
MENCHIONS, Hilda Vera — June 22, 1918-Oct. 6, 2007. Passed peacefully away at St. Luke’s Home, Hilda Vera Menchions in the presence of her husband, at 89 years. Fondly remembered by her husband Rev. Clayton and sister Vivian Batten, sisters-in-law Susie Courage of Bonavista, Carrie Menchions, Clarke’s Beach, Sarah Menchions, Toronto, and by many former students. Visitation at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd. Sunday 2-4, 7-9 p.m. and Monday 10-12 noon. Funeral service from St. Augustine’s Anglican Church Monday Oct. 8 at 2 p.m. with interment to follow at the Anglican cemetery, Kenmount Road. Flowers gratefully declined, gifts to St. Luke’s Home gratefully accepted. Thank you for your many prayers and caring.

Miller, Edward
MILLER, Edward — passed away at his residence, after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his loving family, Edward Miller age 85 years. Leaving to mourn his loss, loving wife of 60 years Maisie, daughters Laverne (Hayward), Clara (Gerald), Deborah (Grenvil) and sons Charlie (Lynn), Cluney (Gail), Doug (Pam). Survived by one brother and four sisters, one sister-in-law and two brothers-in-law. Also mourning his loss, 20 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Along with a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd., Tuesday, October 9, 2 p.m.-9 p.m. and Wednesday, October 10 at 10 a.m.-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place at St. Lawrence Anglican Church, Portugal Cove, on October 11, 2007, at 2 p.m. Interment will follow at the Anglican cemetery, Bauline Line. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations my be made CNIB in his loving memory.

STOYLES, Wm. Kenneth (Bill): Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Center on October 8, 2007 at the age of 88. Predeceased by wives Rose (Best) and Dorothy ( Arns), parents Jordan and Ida Stoyles, brother Eric and sister Phoebe Blanche Saunders. Leaving to mourn is his son Gary and wife Jeannette; 3 grandchildren: Tina, Tammy, and Glen, Also one sister Ada Balkema ( Roger Imbler) residing in Reedsport, Oregon US. Also a large number of relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Tuesday 7p.m. to 9 p.m. and Wednesday from 2p.m. to 4p.m. & 7p.m. to 9p.m. The Funeral service will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 11, 2007 at 11:00a.m. from The Carnell Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow at Mount Pleaseant . Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in Bill’s memory made be made to a charity of one’s choice.

Power, Catherine Jane
POWER, Catherine Jane (nee Winsor): passed away unexpectedly at the Health Sciences Centre on Thursday, October 11, 2007. Predeceased by her sister Donna Arlene. Leaving to mourn her beloved husband David; son Robert; parents John and Sarah Winsor; sister Beverley (Ray Laite); step-children: Melanie, Gregory, Zachary, and grandson Zack. Also leaving to remember her in loving memory are many close relatives, colleagues and friends, special aunts: Eva, Olga, Violet and Mime; uncles: Heber, Arthur and Carson (Duck) as well as many very special cousins, valued colleagues at O’Donel High School past and present, together with special friends Linda Laite (Stan), Joyce Hinson and her two darling puppies Halley and Zorro, all of whom she loved dearly. The family will receive visitors at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Saturday and Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A memorial service will take place on Monday, October 15, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel. Donations in Catherine’s memory may be made to the School Lunch Program or the SPCA.

REARDON, Mary Margaret — Passed peacefully away at the Health Science Centre on Oct. 6, 2007, Mary Reardon, aged 82 years. Predeceased by her husband Joseph (2001) and sister Janet. Leaving to mourn only son Joe, grandchildren Chris (Crystal), Jamie (Leanne), Ashley and J.R., one darling great-grandchild Kylie, as well as a large circle of other relatives and friends. At Mary’s request, cremation has taken place. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Rd. Visitation on Sunday and Monday from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral service to take place on Tuesday at 11 a.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel with interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre cemetery. Predeceased by her husband Wilson; son Cyril; and daughter-in-law Rosemary. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her daughter Doris (Jim) Hancock; grandchildren Jeremy and Amanda Hancock and Richard and Lisa Hoskins; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Saturday, October 6, 2007 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, October 7, 2007 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Monday, October 8, 2007 at 10 a.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel. MILLS, Isabella — Oct. 15, 1908-Oct. 5, 2007. Passed peacefully away at St. Luke’s Homes on Friday, Oct. 5, 2007, Isabella Mills (Seward), formerly of New Perlican, in her 99th year. Predeceased in 1937 by her infant son, Graham Edward and in 1992 by her husband, Captain Graham Mills. Leaving to mourn her dughter Angela (Owen Sullivan) and her son Walter (Elizabeth); grandchildren Lynn (Jo Mark Zurel), Lori (Jim Greene), Cheryl (Jeff Critch), Wendy (Doug Regular); great-grandchildren Heather, Michael and David Zurel, Katherine and Graham Greene, Erin and Jacob Critch. She also leaves a large circle of other relatives and friends with fond memories. Visitation will take place at Carnell’s Funeral Home, St. John’s, on Saturday, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Sunday 10 a.m.-12 noon. Memorial service will take place at St. Luke’s Home Chapel Road Deluxe on Sunday at 2:30 p.m. Monday visitation will take place at St. Augustine’s Anglican Church, New Perlican, from 1-2 p.m. Funeral service to follow at 2 p.m. Inurnment to follow in St. Augustine’s cemetery, New Perlican. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association, NL Division; St. Luke’s Homes or St. Augustine’s cemetery Fund. Funeral arrangements entrusted to the care of Green’s Funeral Home, Winterton.
