Passed peacefully away, November 20th, at Torbay, after a long illness, Mrs. Mary O'Brien, in her 89th year, widow of the late Oliver O'Brien; leaving to mourn five daughters, Genevive (Mrs. James Rodgers), Catherine (Mrs. Vincent Burton), Nellie (Mrs. William Burton) of the city; Agnes (Mrs. Lawrence Cantwell[sic]), Bride (Mrs. Philip Gosse), and one son Joseph, all of Torbay; one brother, Mr. James Reddy of the city, and a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral 10:00 a.m. Friday from her late residence, Torbay.

passed away suddenly at his home in Little Bay, Michael Farrell. He was 61 years old. Predeceased by mother Roseanna, Father Pius, brother Edward and brother-in-law Leonard Hannam. Left to mourn his daughter Deanna of Little Bay. Also leaving to mourn are sisters Agnes Hannam, Gertrude Lambe (Cecil) and Elizabeth Kelly (Joe); brothers Dominic Farrell (Rita), Anthony Farrell (Bride), Pius (Geraldine) and Ignatius and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Father Charlie Kelly conducted funeral mass at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Marystown Wednesday, September 21 with interment at the Roman Catholic cemetery, Little Bay. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to the care of White Dove Funeral Home, Marystown. Pallbearers were Tom Chapman, Derm Farrell, Norbert Kelly, Kenny Farewell, Scott Farrell and Tony Farrell. Predeceased by his brother Alfred(Bud), brother-in-law Patrick Oliver and sisters-in-law: Mary Doyle and Margaret Hynes. Left with fond and loving memories, his wife of 47 years, Theresa (nee Oliver); children: John (Bernadette), Elizabeth Kearney and Maureen Oliver (Rob); grandchildren: Allison and Amy Fifield; Christina, John and Patrick Kearney; Stephen and Bethany Oliver; sister Margaret Flynn; brother Edward (Marie); sisters-in-law: Angela Fifield, Kay Finn (Frank) and Bernadette Oliver; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Resting at Caul's Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Tuesday from 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. and Wednesday from 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. Funeral mass on Thursday, December 5, 2002 at 9:30 a.m. from the Basilica. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre cemetery.
