HAROLD NORTHCOTT
Port Au Choix, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of the late Harold Northcott announce his passing at Rufus Guinchard Health Centre on Monday, May 30th, 2011 in his 91st year. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his daughters: Bernice, Yvett (Dave), Jenny (George), Brenda (Ed), Peggy (Nath), Vicki (Owen) and Connie; sons: Paul (Anita), Gary (Masie) and Romeo (Bonnie); daughter-in-law Florence; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren and a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his wife Euphrasia (Diddy) and son Gerard. The family are receiving friends from Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port Au Choix on Tuesday and Wednesday between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will take place from St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, June 2nd at 11:00 a.m. with Father Lee Lainey officiating. Cremation will follow. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Fillatre’s Funeral Home, Port Au Choix.
Elizabeth Leonard – Penney (nee Verge)
1917 – 2011
Corner Brook, NL - It is with great sadness that the family of Elizabeth Penney announces her peaceful passing at the Palliative Care Unit of Western Memorial Hospital on Friday, May 27th, 2011 at the age of 94 years. Leaving to mourn with happy memories are her son: Hector (Madonna) Leonard, daughter: Blanche (Talvin) Courts, Florida; stepsons: Rick (Joanne) Penney and John Penney; John’s children: Marie, Todd and Brenda; her grandchildren: Lori Young, Vicki (Brent) Gilbert, BC and Bonnie Leonard; great grandchildren: Stephen Young, Megan Young (Paul Rogers), Tyler and Bailey Gilbert; one great great granddaughter: Kaitlyn Young; brothers: Isaac (Doris) Verge and Chesley Verge; sisters-in-law: Julia Verge and Edna Hookey; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her first husband, Fred Leonard; second husband, William Penney; parents: Amy and Leander Verge; brother: John Verge; sister-in-law: Vivian Verge and daughter-in-law: Anne Leonard. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, May 29th at 2:00 p.m. from St. Mary’s Anglican Church, Curling, Reverend Karen Laldin officiating. Interment to be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Western Memorial Regional Hospital Foundation.
JEAN KATHLEEN MACGILLIVRAY (nee Benson)
Corner Brook, NL - Passed Peacefully away surrounded by family on Friday, May 20, 2011 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Jean (Benson) MacGillivray at the age of 83 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, daughters: Denise ( Geoff) Tulk, Corinne ( John ) King and Nicole (Keith) Musseau, grandchildren: David, Michael, Stephanie and Kayla; Sister Peg (Dave) Butler Brother Dolph(Stella) Benson; brothers-in laws Ray MacGillivray; Jack Hutchings; as well as a large circle of family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Ralph, November 2010, her parents Enos and Miriam Benson; sisters Sally MacGillivray, Pearl Hutchings, Irene Benson and Verena Benson, brother Walwyn and nephew Ralph Benson. Cremation has taken place at Humber Valley Crematorium. Friends may visit Fillatre's Funeral Home, 4 St. Mark's Avenue on Sunday, May 22 from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, May 23rd at 2:00 p.m. from First United Church, Park Street, Rev. It is with great sadness that the family of Thomas Basha announce his sudden passing on Wednesday May 18th 2011 at the age of 68. He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 44 years Mary, 3 children Tommy (Susan), Joey, Mary Ann (Geoff); grandchildren Billy, Nikki and Laura, great grandson Chase; 3 sisters Mary (Bill), Kathleen (Pete), Martha (Dan); brothers Mike (Linda), David (Mill), Anthony (Diane), Noel (Mary), Elias; sister in law Christine and numerous nieces, nephews, a large circle of friends and valued customers. He was predeceased by his parents Elias & Mary; brothers Nicholas and Joseph; and stepfather William Wellon. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, May 21st at 2:00 p.m. from Sacred Heart Church, Curling Street Father Donald Leonard officiating, followed by the interment at Mt. Patricia Cemetery. Passed peacefully away on Monday, June 6th, 2011 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Center Theresa Crocker in her 99th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories 3 sons: Harold (Elizabeth), Corner Brook, James (Mary), Edmonton, Alberta, Carl (Sandy), Corner Brook; 14 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren; brother Curtis Crewe, sisters: Myrtle Hobbs, Nina Mollon; sister- in- law Rose Crewe, brother-in law James Crocker (Ruby), as well as a large number of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Harold Thomas Crocker in 1986 and son Cyril Crocker in 1987. Corner Brook, NL - Passed peacefully away at his home surrounded by his loving family, George Anderson on Monday June 6th at the age of 93 years. Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife Marion (nee Pike); his five children: Paulette (Kent) Bugden, Chris Anderson (Geraldine Terry), Bart (Barbie) Anderson, Moreen (Murray) Vatcher and Brad (Karen) Anderson; nine grandchildren: Ryan (Nancy) Bugden, Rachel (Andrew) Brisco, Angela (Brian) Bocon, Krista (Scott) Wilson, Courtney and Nicole Anderson, Michael and Michelle Vatcher and Justin and Gregory Martin; six great grandchildren: Abby, Gabriel and Sammy Bugden, Georgia Bugden, Tucker and Mary Jo Wilson and Kalynn Brisco; sisters-in-law: Mary (Sid) Billard and Freda Anderson; brother-in-law: Charles (Madge) Payne; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents Samuel and Elizabeth Anderson; two brothers: Sidney and Kirk and sister, Myrtle Simmons. The family will be receiving friends at Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Avenue on Tuesday evening, 7-9:00 p.m. and Wednesday, 2-4 and 7-9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Thursday, June 9th at 2:00 p.m. from Oakland United Church, Forestside Street. She was predeceased by her parents: Richard & Olive, brothers: Freeman, Eric, Clarence, sister Shirley. The family will be receiving friends at St. James Anglican Church Thursday and Friday between the hours of 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. followed by the funeral service Saturday May 28th at 3:00 p.m. Reverend Nellie Thomas officiating.
