CHISLETT, Malchus Frederick – June 6, 1918 - October 4, 2007. Passed peacefully away at the Carbonear General Hospital on Thursday, October 4, 2007, Malchus Chislett of Islington, aged 89 years. Predeceased by wife Jessie, sisters: Eliza and Maisie; brothers: Theophilous, Arthur, John and Albert. Leaving to mourn with loving memories two daughters: Mildred (Andrew) Sooley, Heart’s Delight, Kathleen (William) Elliott, Islington; five sons: Percy (Judy), Nelson, Ross (Verna) all of Islington, Garry (Frances), Goulds, Marshall (Cynthia), Heart’s Content. Also lovingly remembered by 18 grandchildren, 13
great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren; special brother-in-law Ronald (Alma) Chislett, Green’s Harbour and sister-in-law Agnes Chislett, Cavendish, a large number of nephews, nieces, other relatives and friends. Resting at St. Matthew’s Church Hall, Islington, Saturday, October 6, 3:00 p.m. until time of funeral. The funeral service will be held from St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Heart’s Delight on Monday, October 8 at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow at St. Matthew’s Anglican Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers gratefully declined. Donations in his memory may be made to St. Matthew’s Anglican Church Memorial Fund. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Warren’s Funeral Home, Dildo.

EVANS, Marie – Born in St. John’s, NL, and passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Sunday, June 17, 2007 at Lisaard House, Cambridge at the age of 83. Beloved wife of the late Walter (2004) . Loving mother of Sandy and Randy Schlosser, Patricia and Larry Greig, Gail and David Fullerton and Maureen and Bryan Brezynskie. Dear Nanny to Tracey (Mark), Christa (Kelly), Courtney, Connor, Jennifer (Sean), Megan, Natalie, Lance (Kathy), Chad (Chantal), Jodi (Kyle) . Great-grandmother to Emma, Amelia, Brady, Tyler, Ethan, Spencer, Mitchell, Emma and Noah. Dear sister of Betty Bransfield, Gert Puzewski (Chester) and brother-in-law Gerry Duff and their families. Predeceased by her parents William and Elizabeth (nee Angel) Bransfield, brother Billy and sister Rose Duff. Funeral Mass and interment was held in Kitchener, Ontario. Marie was truly the wind beneath our wings. She was the most caring Mother, Nanny and Nana with the greatest sense of humour. She will be deeply missed and forever in our hearts.

FELTHAM, Reginald – Passed away peacefully at the Agnes Pratt Home, St. John’s, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, October 4, 2007, Reginald Gordon Feltham in his 93rd year, of Glovertown. Born to James and Cecilia (Taite) Feltham of Deer Island on July 14, 1915, he is predeceased by his wife, Flossie; his brother, Randolph and his sister, Grace. Left with fond and loving memories are his son, James (Audrey) Feltham of Deer Lake; his daughters: Mildred (Leonel) Vairinhos of Mount Pearl, Rosalie (Keith) Whiteway of Mount Pearl and Elizabeth (Arthur) Goodyear of Port aux Basques; his grandchildren: Miriam Sheppard, Sarah Feltham, David Vairinhos, Christina Butt, Anna Whiteway, Randy Whiteway, Julia Goodyear, Alex Goodyear and Joel Goodyear; his great-grandchildren: Samuel Sheppard and James Butt; his brothers: Roy of Glovertown and Doug (Louise) of Calgary; his sister, Ethel Moran of Glovertown; his brother-in-law, Samuel (Bernice) Feltham; his sisters-in-law: Ruby Feltham, Elvie (Ralph) Genge and Mabel LeGrow; many nieces and nephews and a large circle of extended family and friends. Resting at Oram’s Funeral Home, Glovertown, on Saturday, October 6th from 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, October 7th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service to be held on Monday, October 8th at 11 a.m. from Faith United Church, Glovertown. Interment to follow at the United Church Cemetery. Flowers gratefully declined; donations may be made to H.A.V.E. (Help a Village Effort – a charity very dear to Reg’s heart) at H.A.V.E., P.O. Box 553, Minben, Ontario, K0M 2K0 or to the Cemetery Fund, Faith United Church.

FRYE, Lily – It is with great sadness we announce the peaceful passing of Lily Frye, age 83, from Summerville, at the Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville on October 1, 2007. Predeceased by husband John; twin sons; sister Eva Humby and brother Albion Humby. Leaving to mourn with many fond and loving memories are her sons: Adrian (Norma) and Scott (Nellie); daughters: Loretta Mews (Bill- deceased) and Sharon Quinton (Dave Oakley); grandchildren: Kelly, Tammy, Tanya, Justin, Crystal, Kayla and Jessica; great-grandchildren: Alaina, Marlena and Rhea; brother James Humby (Florence); sister Laura Rogers; sister-in-law Jenny Humby and many other relatives and friends. Rested at the St. Marks Anglican Church, Summerville, from where the funeral service, officiated by Rev. Valerie Gillam, took place on Thursday, October 4, 2007 with interment following. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Vardy’s Funeral Home, Random Island.

HOSKINS, Sarah (nee Carter) – Passed peacefully away at the Chancellor Park Nursing Home on October 5, 2007, Sarah Hoskins aged 94 years. Predeceased by her husband Wilson; son Cyril; and daughter-in-law Rosemary. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, her daughter Doris (Jim) Hancock; grandchildren Jeremy and Amanda Hancock and Richard and Lisa Hoskins; and a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road, on Saturday, October 6, 2007 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. and Sunday, October 7, 2007 from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will take place on Monday, October 8, 2007 at 10 a.m. from the Carnell Memorial Chapel. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations may be made in Sarah’s memory to the Alzheimer Society of Newfoundland and Labrador.

HISCOCK, Harold James (Jim) – October 20, 1925 - October 4, 2007. Passed peacefully away at the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, Carbonear on Thursday, October 4, 2007, Harold James Hiscock of Heart’s Delight, aged 81 years. Predeceased by his parents Harold R. and Merab Hiscock. Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife Lorraine; two sons Robert (Donna), Heart’s Delight; Randy (Jacqueline), Portugal Cover-St. Philips; one daughter Jeannie (Alan) Thygesen, Calgary, Alberta; three grandchildren: Alison (Dana) Phillips, Calgary; Heather, Portugal Cove and Eric, Portugal Cove; two great-grandchildren Ethan and Aaron Phillips, Calgary, Alberta. Also lovingly remembered by a large number of other relatives and friends. Special thanks to his home care givers over the past two years, and also a special thanks to the staff of the Harbour Lodge Nursing Home, East 11, especially during his last few days. Resting at Warren’s Funeral Home, Dildo with visitation on Friday, October 5 from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. and the SUF Hall, Heart’s Delight on Saturday, October 6 11:00 a.m. - 10:00 p.m. The Funeral service will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. from St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Heart’s Delight, with interment at St. Matthew’s Anglican Cemetery, Heart’s Delight. HURLEY, Audrey Land – Passed away peacefully and in the presence of her family at her home in St. Philips on Thursday, October 4th, 2007, Audrey Hurley, aged 57 years. Predeceased by her father Jim Land. Left with fond and loving memories, her husband George; her son Daniel; her mother Elizabeth Land; her brother Thomas (Theresa) Land; her mother-in-law Etta Hurley; brother-in-law Thomas (Phyllis) Hurley; sisters-in-law Deborah (David) Heitman, Linda (Jeffery) Boggs; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews; and many special and caring friends, colleagues and clients. Visitation and Memorial Service at Carnell’s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road. Visitation on Monday from 3 p.m. - 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m., and Tuesday from 10 a.m. - 11:45 a.m. Memorial Service will take place on Tuesday, October 9, 2007 at 12:00 p.m. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made in her memory to the Craft Council of Newfoundland and Labrador, the Anna Templeton Center, the Dr. H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation, and/or the Health Care Foundation in support of the Center for Pain and Disability Management.

KELLY, Peter Joseph – Passed away suddenly on October 3, 2007, age 40 years. Leaving to mourn his loving family, father, Lloyd; mother, Catherine; sisters: Paula (Steve), Ann (Blaine); brother David (Jill); special niece and nephews, as well as many other relatives and friends. Visitation at Caul’s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road. Visitation Wednesday, October 10th from 10 a.m. - 9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Thursday, October 11th at 9:30 a.m. from Mary Queen of Peace Church, Torbay Road. Interment to follow at St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery, Outer Cove. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
