CAMPBELL Stephen Joseph

Kitchener, Ontario (Formerly of Ship Cove, NF)

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Stephen Joseph Campbell announce his passing at the Freeport Hospital in Kitchener, Ontario on Monday, August 12, 2002 at the age of 70 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Edith and six sons: Arnald (Helen) Campbell of Ontario, Pat Campbell (Eva) of Manitoba, Donnie (Marlene) Campbell, Ricky (Marlene) Campbell, Andy (Marilyn) Campbell, Jason (Michelle) Campbell, all of Ontario and three daughters: Hilda Campbell of Ontario, Theresa Campbell of Ohio, USA, Kimberly Campbell of Ontario and three sisters: Annie (Aloysius) Benoit of Kippens, Clara Lucas of Stephenville Crossing, Bessie May Gale of New Brunswick; 20 grandchildren, 10 greatgrandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, John James and Mary Campbell and two brothers: Cyril and James Campbell. Friends may call at Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Piccadilly on Wednesday (after 11:00 a.m.) and Thursday. Funeral Services will take place on Friday, August 16th at 10:00 a.m. from Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Piccadilly with interment in the Roman Catholic cemetery in Ship Cove. Funeral arrangements are under the supervision of Russell's Funeral Home, 39 Queen Street, Stephenville.

JULIA BENOIT nee CHAISSON
Marche's Point, NFld.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Julia Benoit announce her passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Friday, March 6, 1998, at the age of 92 years. She was predeceased by her parents: Lawrence and Josephine Chaisson, husband: William and her son Thomas. She will be sadly missed by her four sons, Gervais (Kay) in Nova Scoria, Howard (Nora) in Red Brook, James (Julia) in DeGrau, and Michael (Jean) in Red Brook; Kathleen (Joe) Young in Nova Scoria, and Merilda (Jimmy) Graham in Nova Scoria; one sister, Rita Benoit in Cape St. George; 29 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral services took place on Tuesday, March 10, at 10 a.m. from Our Lady of the Cape Parish in Cape St. George with interment in the Roman Catholic cemetery in Marches Point. Funeral arrangements were under the supervision of Russell's Funeral Home, 39 Queen Street in Stephenville.

JOHN WALLACE YOUNG, Ship Cove

It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Wallace Young announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Friday, January 23, 1998, at the age of 58 years. He was predeceased by his father Anthony .He will be sadly missed by his mother, Mary Cecilia Young in Sheaves Cove; five brothers, Leo in Ship Cove, Michael (Maude) in Port au Port, Lawrence (Annie Mary) and Hector (Geraldine), all in Sheaves Cove, James (Lorraine) in Stephenville; one sister, Maisie in Cape St. George; two brothers-in-law, Matthew Jesso and Vincent Jesso; special niece, Doreen; special friends, Eamal and Helen Campbell; and a large circle of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Funeral services took place on Monday, January 26 at 2 p.m. from St. Joseph's Chapel in Sheaves Cove with interment in the Roman Catholic cemetery in Sheaves Cove. Funeral arrangements were under the supervision of Russell's Funeral Home, 39 Queen Street, Stephenville.

MARGARET RYAN nee Benoit
Piccadilly, Nfld

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Margaret (Benoit) Ryan announce her peaceful passing after a short illness at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital on Wednesday, September 30. 1998 in her 79th year. She is predeceased by her mother: Adeline Duffenias and father: Amedee Honore Benoit, sisters: Bernadette and Rita, brothers: Emile, Benjamin, and Joacham. She leaves to mourn her loving husband Stanley (Stan), Piccadilly, daughters: Bernice and John Maddock of Stephenville, Maureen and David Czop of Ottawa, Doreen and Don Gale of Stephenville, Lorraine and Harve Gabriel of London, Ontario, Patti and Gilbert (Gil) Tourout of Piccadilly, sons: Gerard (Jerry) and Anne of Halifax, Robert (Bob) and Phyllis of Stephenville, William (Bill) and Helen of Kitchener, Ontario, Andrew (Andy) and Norma of Piccadilly, James (Jim) and Marina of Prince Edward Island, sisters: Yvonne Dennis and Mary Felix. She also leaves to mourn 25 grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. The family received recieving friends at Max A. Fillatre Funeral Home, 25 Prince Rupert Drive, Stephenville on Thursday and at Our Lady of Fatima Church, Piccadilly on Friday. The funeral mass was held on Friday at 2 p. m. with Father Joe Gash and Sister Alice Walsh officiating. Interment followed at the Roman Catholic cemetery, Piccadilly. The family has requested either flowers or a donation to the charity of your choice.

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Kenneth Patrick Benoit of Ship Cove announce his passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital in Stephenville on Thursday, October 1, 1998 at the age of 61 years. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Annie May and four sons: Tony (Linda) Benoit in Ship Cove, Shawn Benoit (Ann Jesso) in Piccadilly, Harry Benoit and Stephen Benoit, both in Ship Cove and five daughters: Doris (Dan) Gass in Manitoba, Sharon (Matthew) Benoit in DeGrau, Florence (Dale) Lott in Manitoba, Ruth (Ricky) Wamer in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia, Denise Benoit (Carl Wheeler) in Prince Edward Island and three brothers: Benny (Roberta) Benoit in Nova Scotia, Andrew Benoit in Ship Cove, Austin Benoit (Myrtle Fancy) in Ship Cove and six sisters: Leona (Henry) Benoit in Prince Edward Island, Agatha White, Maggie Wheeler, both in Ship Cove, Lillian (Bertrum) Gale in Piccadilly, Geraldine (Ken) Garcin in Nova Scotia, Mona (Neil) Rowe in Ontario; 14 grandchildren and a large circle of family and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Francis Benoit and Adelaide Jesso. Funeral services took place on Monday, 0ctober 5 at 11 a.m. from Our Lady of Fatima Parish in Piccadilly with interment at the Roman Catholic cemetery in Ship Cove. Funeral arrangements were under the supervision of Russell's Funeral Home, 39 Queen Street in Stephenville.

He was predeceased by his brother Bernard and mother Mary Harmony. He will be sadly missed by his loving wife, Anabelle and four sons: Abdias (Marina) in Marches Point, Dean (Connie) in Red Bridge, Ontario, Medon (Claudette) in North Bay, Ontario, Melvin in Wainwright, Alberta and five daughters: Doris (Myron) Benoit in Marches Point, Rufina (Mike) McWaters in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Jocelyn (Bruce) Jeffery in Lower Sackville, Nova Scotia, Janice (Blair) Stephenson in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, Dianne Jesso in Marches Point and his father, Michael Jesso in Red Brook and four brothers: Cornelius in Port au Port, Edward in Kippens, Limbert in Port au Port, Gerard in Ontario and four sisters: Riza Matthews in U. S. A., Mazie Beniot in Port au Port, Maureen Jesso in Stephenville, Rona Rowe in Sheaves; 12 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral servicess took place on Friday, October 2 at 2:00 a. m. from Our Lady of the Cape Parish in Cape St. George with interment in the Roman Catholic cemetery in Marches Point. It is with great sadness that the family of the late Isabel Benoit announce her passing at the Sir Thomas Roddick Hospital on Monday, November 17, 1997, at the age of 83 years. She was predeceased by her husband Adolph and her parents: Ralphael Costare and Mary Margaret Benoit. She will be sadly missed by four sons, Joseph in Red Brook, Zackery in Halifax, Victor in North Carolina, Godfrey in Red Brook; one daughter, Barbara in DeGrau; three brothers, Alcide in Red Brook, Louis in Kippens, and Joseph; three sisters, Geraldine in Red Brook, Christina in Kippens, and Mary in Oregon; 15 grandchildren; four great grandchildren and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral services took place on Thursday, November 20, at 11 a.m. from Our Lady of the Cape Church in Cape St. George with interment in the Roman Catholic cemetery in DeGrau. ALEXANDER FRANCAIS JESSO

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Alexander Francis Jesso announce his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Comer Brook on Wednesday, June 11, 1997, at the age of 59 years. He was predeceased by his brothers: Leonard and Richard and parents: John and Angella Jesso. He will be sadly missed by his wife, Alice (Marche); four sons, Franklin, Wallace, Gerard, and Anthony; three daughters, Kathleen, Debbra, and Donna; four brothers, Cecil, Gary, Felix, and Assie; three sisters, Gertrude (Gertie), Joyce and Sylvia; 11 grandchildren; and a large circle of relatives and friends. Funeral services took place on Saturday, June 14 at 10:30 a.m. from Our Lady of Fatima Parish Church in Piccadilly with interment in the Roman Catholic cemetery in Ship Cove. Funeral arrangements were under the supervision of Russell's Funeral Home, 39 Queen Street in Stephenville.

JOHNY MIC BENOIT
Red Brook, Nfld

Jean Edward Benoit of Red Brook known to all as John M. Benoit and Johny Mic Benoit, Passed peacefully away on Monday, May 15th, 1972 in his 98th year. He was predeceased by his parents: Michel Benoit and Desiree Laisne. He was born at the Mainland on August 1, 1877. His family moved to Red Brook when he was still a boy. Mr. Benoit lived in Red Brook for his remaining years. He was first married to Emily Pierrier on June 26, 1895 and from this marriage he had eight children. Emily died in 1915. He remarried on January 19, 1916; his second wife, Cecila Young of Kippens. There were thirteen children from this second marriage.

Jean Edward Benoit, like most of the earlier settlers in this area, worked most of his life wresting a living from the sea; like all local fishermen, his spare hours were spent tending to cattle and harvesting a few crops.

Mr. Benoit leaves to mourn, his wife, Alice Maude nicknamed: Cecila; two sisters, Clemency, known as Clamos ( Mrs. Victor Jesso) of Marches Point and Helen of New Brunswick; sixteen children, John Alfred, William, Joseph, Kdward, Michael, Gabriel, Agatha (Mrs. Dan Jesso), Mercedes (Mrs. Isaac Costard) and Bernadette (Mrs. Leonard Renout) of Red Brook; Dominic in De Grau, Manuel and Eileen (Mrs. John E. Benoit) Marches Point: Mary (Mis. Finton Jesso) of Sheaves Cove, May (Mrs. Limbert Jesso) of Ship Cove, Rita (Mrs. Bert Gosse) of Stephenville, and Maude (Mrs. Herb Gosse) of St. David's; 129 grandchildren, 169 great grandchildren and 16 great-great grand children. Funeral Mass was celebrated by Reverend J.J. Molloy in the Parish Church, and he was laid to rest on May 17th in the cemetery at Sheaves Cove.

The family wishes to express sincere thanks to all the relatives and friends who called to pay respects and to those who helped in any way.
