Freeman Timmons

Freeman Timmons, 77, of Rocky Harbour, Nfld., formerly of Pleasant Bay, passed away Jan. 14, 2000, at Bonne Bay Hospital, Nfld.
Born in Pleasant Bay, he was the son of the late James Timmons and Margaret (MacLean) Timmons.
He retired from Parks Canada as chief park warden in 1981 after postings in Cape Breton Highlands, Kejimkujik, and Gros Morne National Parks.
He was a veteran of the Second World War, having served in Italy and throughout the European campaign until his discharge in 1946.
He is survived by two sons Wallace (Melodia), Tracadie, N.B., and Guy (Dora), Saint John, N.B.; three daughters Jeanette (Mrs. Lionel Roach), Halifax, Linda (Mrs. Greg Vienneau), Tracadie, N.B., and Donna, Sackville, N.S.; one brother Andrew Timmons, Red River, N.S.; one sister Hilda Moore, New Glasgow.
Also surviving are 12 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his wife Helen Moore; brother Clayton Timmons and half-brother Jack Timmons; two sisters Ruth Swicker and Margaret (Peggy) Wilkie.
Visitation 10 a.m.-2 p.m. today (Monday) at the Pleasant Bay Professional Center.
Funeral service 2 p.m. Monday from St. Andrews United Church, Pleasant Bay, with Rev. Rose Hannah Gaskin officiating.
Interment in Pleasant Bay Cemetery.
Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cheticamp Funeral Services Ltd.
Doris Annie Card
78, Corner Brook, Nfld
The family of the late Doris Annie Card of 83 Churchill St., Corner Brook, regretfully announce her passing on Sunday, Jan. 23, 2000, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney, at the age of 78.
She will be sadly missed by her three children, Lorraine Rideout and husband Carl, Sydney, N.S., Madge Pottle and husband John, St. John’s, Nfld., Brian Card and wife Sharon, Dartmouth, N.S.; six grandchildren, Perry J. Rideout, Todd Rideout, Janice Pottle, Susan Pottle, Brooks Card, Brent Card and numerous other relatives and friends.
She was predeceased by her husband, Hardy Card, two sisters and one brother.
Doris was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
The funeral service will be held Thursday, Jan. 27 at 2 p.m. from the Salvation Army Temple, O’Connell, Dr. Maj. Douglas Hefford officiating, followed by the interment at the Mt. Patricia Cemetery Receiving Chapel.
Friends may visit Fillatre’s Funeral Home, 4 St. Marks Ave., Wednesday from 2-4, 7-9 p.m.
As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Salvation Army Temple Building Fund or a charity of choice.

97, Newfoundland
Mrs. Elsie MacKinnon of Sydney has received word that her sister, Katie English, died on Thursday, Oct. 21, 1999, in Newfoundland.
She was 97 years of age.
The funeral mass was held on Oct. 23, 1999, at St. Ann’s Church, Upper Ferry, Codroy Valley, Nfld.
Liam Joseph Brennan
21, St. Johnıs, Nfld.
Liam Joseph Brennan, 21, of St. Johnıs, Nfld., died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2000, in St. Johnıs.
He was a second year student at the Marine Institute, St. Johnıs, Nfld.
He was the much loved son of Sally Sizer and Martin Brennan, Lunenburg; a brother to Sebastian and Tom and sister, Sarah.
He was a dear friend to many wonderful people.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Dana L. Sweeny Funeral Homes, 11213, No. 3 Highway, Lunenburg.
Family and friends can meet at the funeral home at 2:45 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, 2000.
A graveside committal service will take place at 3 p.m. at the Second Peninsula Cemetery, Second Peninsula.

Donald A. Anderson
69, Burgeo, Nfld.
Anderson, Donald A., – 69, Burgeo, Nfld., died on Tuesday, April 3, 2001, in Burgeo at the Calder Health Care Centre, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Burgeo, Nfld., March 3, 1932, he was a son of the late Edward and Matilda (Strickland) Anderson.
A lifelong member of St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church, he touched the lives of all those who knew him.
He truly enjoyed a strong faith in God, music and his boat.
He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, the former Eva Hardy; sons, Donald and his wife Wanda, Rose Blanche, Nfld., Gregory and his wife Doreen, St. Jones Within, Nfld; daughters, Theresa and her husband Gary Corsano, Sydney, N.S., and Andrea Anderson, Sydney, N.S.
He was a loving ‘Poppy Don’ to his two grandsons, Tyson and Juan; and four granddaughters, Glenda, Breagh, Natasha and Kayla.
He is also survived by sisters, Lena Fahey, New Waterford, N.S., Elsie (Robert) Petrie, Windsor, Ont. and one brother, Aubrey, Burgeo, Nfld., and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by two sons, Paul and Corey, brothers, Matthew, John Thomas (Jack), James Edward (Ted), and George, sisters, Maude and Susan.
