DOYLE, Jeremiah J. - passed away in his sleep on February 8, 2004. Jeremiah will be lovingly remembered and sadly missed by Josephine and their seven children and six grandchildren. Son: Jeremiah, Nicole and sons: Mackenzie, Aidan; Son: Randy and Ewa; Daughter: Marina, Shenley and sons: Tyler, Daniel; Daughter: Theresa, Darrell and daughter Amanda; Son: Karl and his son Cameron; Daughter: Tammy and Luc, Son Vincent and Shara. He will also be remembered by his brothers and sisters: Mary (Jim), Jim (Marg), Louise (Tom), Harold (Eileen), Francis (Bill) John (Wanda), Tina, Pat (Marie) and all those he knew and loved. Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home on LeMarchant Road. Visitation will be taking place on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10 am to 10 pm and Thursday from 10 am - 6 pm. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 13, 2004 at 9:30 am from St. Patrick`s Church. Interment to follow at Mount Carmel cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation in his memory.

LETHBRIDGE, Bernice (Heard)
1936 - 2002
(granddaughter of Selina Bertha COVEYDUC and Reuben Mesher;)
Passed peacefully away at the Labrador Health Center in Happy Valley Goose Bay on February 10, 2002 after a long battle with cancer, Bernice Lethbridge Heard, age 66 Born at Pack's Harbour, Labrador. She was the tenth child of John and Lily (Mesher) Lethbridge. She spent her early years at Pack's Harbour in the summer and Paradise River In the winter before moving to Happy Valley in 1956. She was predeceased by her parents, her brothers Philip, Burton, Clyde, John, and Leland "Neil", and by her sister Winona and Melba. She leaves to mourn her husband Bernard. Happy Vally Goose Bay: son Bernard Jr. Calgary; grand-daughter Deirdre Brydon, Cambridge, N.S.: brothers Charles and Ford. Happy Valley Goose Bay: sister Shirly Martin (Bruce) Cartwright; and large circle of relalives and friends. At the request, her remains are being cremated and her ashes will be scattered at her Paradise River home and at her ancestral home at Eagle River. A Memorial Service is being planned for HVGB. MASON: Dominic S.
The Evening Telegram August 20, 1989 (Sunday)
Died suddenly Aug. 17, 1989, as a result of a tragic accident, Dominic Mason, aged 28, of Avondale. Predeceased by his father John on Jan. 7, 1987. Leaving to mourn, loving mother Catherine; four sisters: Doreen (Mrs. John Boland) of St. John's; Bernardine at Toronto, Christine and Hilda at Avondale; two brothers: John at Avondale and Tony at Edmonton; also one stepsister Geraldine Walsh at Holyrood and one stepbrother Maurice Nolan at Toronto; special nieces and nephews; also a large number of relatives and friends. Remains resting at Conway's Funeral Home, Colliers. Funeral will take place Monday, Aug. 21, 1989, at 2 p.m. at Assumption Church, Avondale, followed by interment at Avondale cemetery

Mason: Elizabeth:

passed away at Port Union on April 23 after a lengthy illness, Mrs. Elizabeth Mason, age 88 years and 7 months. Ant Lizzie, has (sp) she was best known, was a friend to all in need. Everyone received a welcome to her home and her kindness and generosity won her many friends by whom she will be long remembered. She was a active member of the United Church Women's Association, then known as the Ladies Aid, also a (sp) active member of the LOBA Rising Sun, Catalina for over 40 years, and was made honorary member of Provincial Grand Lodge of Newfoundland. Left to mourn are three sons, William, Fred and Albert, one daughter Annie (Mrs. James Goodyear) with whom she resided; five grand children and nine great grand children. Her husband Richard predeceased her 42 years ago when he lost his life at sea enroute from Sydney to Newfoundland. The high esteem in which she was held was shown by the many floral tributes. The funeral service was conducted on Sunday, April 25 at Bethany United Church, Catalina by Rev. W. T. Reynolds. Interment was in the United Church cemetery.

Mason: Joseph J. of Port Union

Another veteran has answered the last roll call. His many friends were saddened to learn of the passing of the late Joseph J. Mason of Port Union at the Bonavista Hospital after a brief illness on Friday, March 15, at the age of 77. Uncle Joe, as he was well known by many of his friends, was born at Catalina in 1891, the sone of the late Mrs. and Mrs. Peter Mason. He served with the H.M. Royal Navy in World War I. After returning from overseas he married the former Jessie Russell of this town, and was a devoted husband and father. For twenty-five years he worked with the firm of Job Brothers Ltd., St. John's, and retired in January 1954. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Catalina Branch No. 16 for a number of years. He leaves to mourn their sad loss his wife Jessie; two sons Samuel and Gilbert at home; two daughters, Elizabeth and Mildred (Mrs. Frederick Hart); 12 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren; one brother Peter, and one sister, Alice, (Mrs. Charles Rowe, Catalina), and a large circle of relatives and friends. The burial service was conducted on Sunday at Bethany United Church by the Rev. W. T. Reynolds. Interment was in the United church cemetery. members of the Royal Canadian Legion and Ladies Auxiliary paid tribute to their departed comrade.

MASON: Leonard Harshaw
Of Barrie, Ontario, passed away on Sunday, October 10, 1999, in his 94th year. He is the son of the late Leslie Mason and Olive Galbraith. He leaves to mourn his beloved Ruby, his wife of more than 63 years, and their four children: Carole Ann, husband Clark Leith, London, Ronald Mason, wife Donna, Richmond Hill, Douglas Mason, wife Kathryn, St. John`s and Gloria Mason, Toronto. He is survived by his sister Mildred Brown, Unionville. He was predeceased by a daughter Betty Jane (1951) and by his brothers: Alfred, Gordon, Harcourt and Stewart; and two sisters: Mona Burr and Beatrice Taft. Mr. Mason will be missed by his grandchildren: Jim, Debbi and Jonathan Leith (Jennifer Robinson), David, Jennifer (Dan Blaik) and Michael Mason, Matthew and Caroline Mason; and by his great-grandson Gabriel Robinson-Leith. A Service celebrating his life will be held at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 170 Steel Street, Barrie, on Saturday, October 16 at 11 a.m. There will be no visitation. A private family committal service will be held on Thursday, October 14th in Pine Hills cemetery, Scarborough. Memorials in his name may be made to the Westminster Presbyterian Church Building Fund or to the charity of your choice and will be gratefully acknowledged by the family. October 14, 1999

Mason: Mrs. Martha (Port Union)

Dear Sir - Please permit me space in your widely read paper to record the passing of a well-known and highly respected lady, in the person of Mrs. Martha Mason, who entered into rest on August 20th, and whose burial took place at the U.C. cemetery on August 21st, the anniversary of her birthday. She had reached the ripe age of 76 years. The late Mrs. Mason was twice married , her first husband being George Russell, and her second husband, who predeceased her some years ago, being Peter Mason. Left to mourn her passing are seven daughters, one son, three step-daughters, four step-sons, forty-six grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren. You can quite see from the above, Mr. Editor, how widely she was related to a large number of people here and at Catalina. The daughters names are Mrs. John Pardy, Mrs. Mark Lodge, Mrs. Alfred Sheppard, Mrs. Peter Mason, Mrs. Joseph Mason, all of Port Union, Mrs. A. J. Boomer of Truro, N.S., and Susie of St. John's. The surviving son is Mr. Samuel Russell of Port Union. The step-daughters are Mrs. Samuel Tucker of St. John's, Mrs. Charlie Rowe, Catalina, and Clara in the U.S.A. The step-sons are John and George Russell, Catalina, Peter Mason and Joseph Mason at Port Union. She was the mother of twelve children by her first marriage, but had no children by her second marriage. She was a woman noted for her good works and was often in attendance at the bedside of the sick. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her and the writer extends deepest sympathy to those left to mourn. Yours truly, A Friend

MORGAN, Bertram D. - Passed peacefully away at St. Clare's Mercy Hospital on Tuesday, March 21st, 1995, Bertram Dawe Morgan, Upper Gullies, in his 73rd year. Retired Nfld. Power Employee and taxi owner/operator. Predeceased by his son Clayton, September 4th, 1969. Left with fond and loving memories his wife Annie (Metcalfe); one daughter Yvonne Lawlor (Kevin); six sons: Wayne (Bobbie), Robin (Lois), Sid (Rosa), Bill (Barbara), Lub (Joan) and Jack (friend Brenda); 16 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; one brother Verner (Marion); five sisters: Gwen Fagan (Reg), Laura Porter, Margaret Parsons (Ern), Louise Smith (Lloyd), Eva Balsom (Fred); also a large circle of other relatives and friends. Resting at the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews until noon Friday. Funeral to take place on Friday, March 24, 1995 at 2:00p.m. from St. Peter's Anglican Church, Upper Gullies. Interment in the Anglican cemetery, Upper Gullies. Flowers gratefully accepted or donations in his memory may be made to the St. Peter's Anglican Church, Upper Gullies.
