DWYER, James Patrick - Passed peacefully away on December 17, 2002 at the Agnes Pratt Nursing Home, James Patrick Dwyer, aged 88 years. Leaving to mourn his four sons: Patrick (Nora), Charlie (Betty), Edmond (Peggy) and Ed; four daughters: Mary, Joyce, Marion (Tom) and Shirley (Mike); one sister Rose Kennedy; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; and friend Julie Dixon; as well as other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett`s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue from 7-9 p.m. on Thursday and from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Friday. Funeral Service 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2002 from Barrett`s Chapel. Cremation to follow.

GAMBIN, Florence (nee Lake) - Passed peacefully away at Placentia Health Care Centre, December 17, 2002, after a courageous battle with cancer, in the presence of her devoted family. Florence Gambin, age 84 years, Jerseyside, Placentia, formerly of Clattice Harbour, South West, Placentia Bay. Predeceased by her loving husband Cornelius (1987), step-daughter Mary Gambin-Greene (1971). Left to mourn with fond and loving memories, sons: Dan (Cecilia), Leo (Julia), Cornelius (Madeline), John (Anita); daughters: Matilda (Frank Traverse), Imelda (Bill Bailey), Winnie (Ed Barry), all residing in Placentia, Veronica (Ron Grover), Burke, V.A., also lovingly remembered by 34 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and their families. As well, sister Veronica (Mike Conners), Placentia; brother John Lake, South East Bight, Placentia Bay; sisters-in-law: Jane Gambin, Placentia, and Mary Lake, Mount Pearl; also a large circle of relatives and friends. Resting at Maher`s Funeral Home, Placentia. Special nieces and nephews, the Godsells: Annette Godsell, husband Don Aspell and son Ryan; Alicia Brettner, husband Ted and son Harrison; Mike Godsell, wife Margot Gordon and son James; Shaun Godsell, wife Lori and daughter Hillary; Nieces and nephews, the O`Neill`s: Edwardine, Alice, Molly, Peggy and Pat. The McDivitts: Brian, John, Elaine, Sharon, Cynthia and their families, other relatives and friends. Resting at Caul`s Funeral Home, LeMarchant Road.
