MARSH, Philip - Passed peacefully away at Dr. G.B. Cross Memorial Hospital, Clarenville, on Friday, July 18, 2003, Philip Marsh of Clarenville, aged 81 years. Predeceased by his wife Prissie, parents Philip Sr., and May Marsh, three brothers and three sisters. Leaving to mourn daughters Donna (Chesley Smith), Deep Bight, Doris (Tom Spurrell), Little Heart`s Ease, Trudy (Terry Martin), Little Heart`s Ease, Christine Marsh, Mississauga, Ont.; sons Alwyn (Dallas), Little Heart`s Ease and Peter (Palma), Clarenville; grandchildren Tammy, Todd, Tim, Trevor, Trent, Lesley, Jeremy, Robyn, Preston, Patricia, Katherine, Robert, Adam, Katrina, Nathan, Thomas, David and Kayla; great-grandchildren Kristen, Chelsea, Julianna, Matthew, Jordan, Allison, Sarah, Brandon and Reese and a large number of nieces, nephews, family and friends. Resting at Fewer`s Funeral Home, Clarenville. Funeral service 2 p.m. Monday, July 21, 2003 from Memorial United Church, Clarenville with interment to follow at the United Church cemetery, Clarenville. STEELE, Douglas Leslie - Passed peacefully away at the Hoyles Home on Saturday, July 19, 2003, after a courageous battle with ALS, Douglas Leslie Steele, aged 61 years. Predeceased by his son Douglas (2000), mother Myrtle (1999) and father Overton (1990). Leaving to mourn his devoted wife Bernice of 39 years; two daughters: Karen Gulliver and son-in-law Sean and Annette Eason and husband Bert. As well, poppy`s five beautiful grandchildren: Parker, Jaxson, and Raygan Gulliver and Bradley and Blake Eason. Leaving behind six sisters: Ruby Tizzard (St. John`s), Kay and Gill Parsons (Dartmouth), Ruth and Ron Cook (St. John`s), Marge and Jerry Motter (Ohio), Sandra and Garfield Dale (St. John`s) and Glenda and Terry McKinney (Kelowna); Doug`s only brother and best friend Bill and Gwen Steele (Goulds); also numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Special thanks to the staff at Hoyles Home for their exceptional care and compassion given to Doug during his illness. You will be forever remembered. Also, special thanks to Doug`s immediate family for their support and personal sacrifices during Doug`s illness. Leaving to mourn Shirley; his devoted wife of 47 years; son Stephen (Jennifer); grandchildren: Logan and Paige, Slave Lake, AB; two brothers: Calmond (Daisy), Ship Cove, Guy (Juanita), Paradise; six sisters: Muriel (Peter), Halifax, Patricia (Bud), St. Anthony, Faye (Ross), Glovertown, Marie (Scott), St. Anthony, Elaine (Hedley), St. Anthony, Pam (Brian), St. John`s; 18 nephews and nieces. Resting at Carnell`s Funeral Home, 329 Freshwater Road on Friday from 10-12, 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 10-12 noon. Funeral service to take place on Saturday, July 19, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. from St. James United Church with interment to follow at Mount Pleasant cemetery. JANES, Raymond - Passed peacefully away after a long and courageous battle with cancer on February 3, 2004, Raymond Janes, aged 62 years, surrounded by his loving family. He leaves to mourn his loving and devoted wife Freda (Brooks); dearly loved children Barbara and Steven; grandson Nathan; brother Graham (Carole); Uncle Graham Janes (Ruth); as well as many other close relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett`s Funeral Home, 328 Hamilton Avenue on Wednesday, February 4, 2004 from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and on Thursday, February 5, 2004 from 10 a.m. - 12 noon, 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. and on Friday, February 6, 2004 from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. Leaving to mourn one daughter Vina (Tolson) Butt, Mount Pearl; one son Walter (Hilda Pollard), St. John`s; eleven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; special friend Shirley McGrath, Chamberlains; also a large number of other relatives and friends. Resting at Barrett`s Funeral Home, Hamilton Avenue, St. John`s on Friday, July 18 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9:30 p.m. Then resting at Noel`s Funeral Home, Main Highway, Western Bay on Saturday, July 19 from 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9:30 p.m. Then resting at Calvary United Church, Burnt Point on Sunday, July 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon and from where the funeral service will take place on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. Interment to follow in the Calvary United cemetery, Burnt Point. Beloved sister of George and Henry of Newfoundland, Norbert of Kitchener and Amanda Noseworthy and Roberta Means of NL. Loving aunt of Daniel, Duane and Wanda Lee White, Georgina Martin and her husband Tony and Shawn White and his wife Margaret all of Kitchener. Aunt Mary will be fondly remembered by a large circle of nieces and nephews in Newfoundland. Friends may call at A Family Funeral Home, 617 King Street North, Waterloo (north of Northfield Dr., rear entrance off Colby Drive) on Thursday from 7-9 p.m. and Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Parish prayers will be held on Friday at 8:45 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, July 19, 2003 at 3:00 p.m. from St. Francis of Assisi RC Church, 49 Blueridge Ave., Kitchener, with Rev. STANFORD, Thomas (Harry) - Passed peacefully away at St. Clare`s Mercy Hospital on Thursday, July 17, 2003, Harry Stanford, age 85 years. Left with fond and loving memories are his wife Madeline; one son James and special friend Margie; one daughter, Marilyn Zinck (Andrew); one grandson Nicholas Zinck; four sisters: Madeline Williams, Elizabeth Ronayne, Rita O`Neil and Stella Edney; as well as three half sisters: Rosemary Stanford, Joan Dutile (Mitch) and Enid O`Brien (Cyril); nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Cremation has taken place. There will be no visitation. Funeral Mass to take place 11 a.m. Saturday, July 19, 2003 from Mary Queen of the World Church, Topsail Road, Mount Pearl. Inurnment to follow in Holy Sepulchre cemetery. Following Inurnment at Holy Sepulchre cemetery, the family will be receiving relatives and friends at Mary Queen of the World Meeting Room. WINDSOR, John (Jack) - At home in Niagara Falls on Tuesday July 15th, 2003. Jack is survived by his wife Anne; his children Jeanette Winker, James (Patricia), Frank (Veronica), Paul and Wayne; his brothers: Kevin and Ed (Annabelle); his sister Ethel Webber; his sister-in-law Joan Windsor and his 18 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter Maureen; his brothers: Angus, Leonard and Jimmy; his sisters: Jean and Bridget and his grandson Christopher. Jack was born in Georgetown, NL on February 22, 1919 and served with the Newfoundland Regiment during World War II. He came to Ontario 1965 and worked at Cunningham Foundry until his retirement in 1984. Friends may call at THE WILLIAMS FUNERAL HOME, 722 Ridge Road North, Ridgeway from 2-4 and 7-9 Friday. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick`s Catholic Church in Merritton on Saturday morning at 10 o`clock. Interment Victoria Lawn cemetery. Memorial donations would be appreciated to Tender Wishes.
