Progressive Conservative MLA, Redwater

Dave Broda was elected Member of the Legislative Assembly for Redwater on March 11, 1997. He sits as a member of the Standing Policy Committee on Health Planning and the Standing Policy Committee on Law and Regulations.

Prior to his election to the Legislature, Dave served as owner and operator of Choice-One Real Estate Ltd. Other private sector positions have included Auction Clerk for Prodaniuk Auction Services and Real Estate Salesman with Carriage Real Estate. He also has some 16 years experience working as site coordinator of Delco Sheet Metal and as Chief Mechanical Draftsman with Angus Butler Engineering. Dave ran as a candidate for the Federal Progressive Conservatives in 1989 and 1993.

He has been an active member of his community for many years, serving on the Lakeland Regional Health Authority, the Redwater Town Council, The Redwater General Hospital Board, and as Treasurer of the Sturgeon Mutual Aid Plan. He is a member of the Redwater Lions Club, Chamber of Commerce, Agricultural Society, Multi-sports Club and the Redwater Fossil Hockey Club. Dave currently serves as the President of the Ukrainian Catholic Church of Sts. Boris and Hlib Redwater.

Dave was born in Waugh, Alberta to Ukrainian immigrants Mike and Annie Broda. He also lived in Legal and Edmonton before making Redwater his home in 1980. Dave and his wife Eileen have three grown daughters, Susan, Cindy and Trina.
